[Bug 448865] Re: GTK+ apps do not render in Kubuntu 9.10 beta
The bug has been fixed by intel (I attached to thi bug report the url to the upstream bug report). Well, here is the final situation: bug comes with: intel 2.9 + qtcurve = 0.68 intel fixed it in their main branch (proper fix), while the qtcurve mantainer found a workaround and included it in qtcurve 0.69. So to fix this we can: 1) backport the fix from intel 2) update qtcurve to 0.69 3) both 1 and 2 -- GTK+ apps do not render in Kubuntu 9.10 beta https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/448865 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk2-engines-qtcurve in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 448865] Re: GTK+ apps do not render in Kubuntu 9.10 beta
ok bug fixed in qtcurve 0.69 (this only happened with gtk2 applications, like firefox) here is the changelog: It has been reported that under intel Xorg drivers 2.8, that QtCurve's arrows are not appearing. This seems to be due to the fact that QtCurve is using cairo to draw non-antialised lines in this case. To work-around this issue QtCurve has been changed to use the older Gdk to draw arrows. To revert back to cairo, use the following cmake option: -DQTC_USE_CAIRO_FOR_ARROWS=true -- GTK+ apps do not render in Kubuntu 9.10 beta https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/448865 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 337505] Re: Graphical corruption in some plasma applets after upgrade to Qt 4.5
Fixed for me with qt 4.5.1 on jaunty. Could qt 4.5.1 enter the proposed repository to be even more tested and then enter jaunty main repository? It's a bugfix release after all. It solves a lot of graphical corruption problems that afflicted kde 4.2.x with 4.5.0, from the cashew one to the window corruption happening with some windows (like when using kmail). It's not an ubuntu bug, but since it's in our repository we should either fix it or consider removing kapman from jaunty repositories, since as it is now it's totally unusable and Joe user installing kapman to play a nice game would have a very bad impression of the kubuntu experience. [Bug 327183] Re: plasma notification applet displays duplicate notifications
Ok, the problem is absent from kde trunk (tried with latest project neon build for intrepid). But no developer in upstream bug report say to have fixed this. Given this, given the fact that everyone with this problem is on kubuntu and given that in kubuntu 4.2 packages there are some backport for the systemtray I'm even more confortable in thinking that this is a kubuntu specific problem. It happens both in intrepid 4.2 packages and in jaunty. -- plasma notification applet displays duplicate notifications https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 259181] Re: KDM background image not displayed correctly on low resolution display
Settings both width and height fixes the problem from me both on 16/9 and 4/3 pos anchor=c x=50% y=50% width=100% height=100%/ Of course in 4/3 the wallpaper looks stretched but: - most mordern note/netbooks are widescreen - the wallpaper is an abstract one so I think this doesn't look so bad - The garbage on the sides of the screen that we have now is way worse. - As a side note this solves another ugly issue: when going from kdm to the splash screen with the default configuration the wallpaper is stretched and destretched a few times. This doesn't happen with the fix above. So, is it possible to make this change for jaunty and possibly push it upstream? -- KDM background image not displayed correctly on low resolution display https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259181 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 327183] [NEW] plasma notification applet displays duplicate notifications
Public bug reported: When I start a new kde 4.2 session, notifications work fine. Then I hide an applet from the system tray (like kbluetooth and kwallet systemtray icons) using the new hiding system tray items feature of kde 4.2. After this I get...double notifications from everything (take a look at the screenshot). I tried to unhide the applets hoping to revolve this and thentriple notifications! In short: every time I move a system tray icon from visible to hidden or the opposide I get one more duplicate of notifications. Removing systemtray applet and re-adding it to the panel, or doing a logout, fixes the issue until I hide again something in the system tray... I don't know if this is specific to ubuntu packages (didn't have this problem with 4.2rc1 under opensuse), but in the original bug report every people with this problem is using kubuntu. Hello, I can confirm your bug (desktop effects ON, intel card) on intrepid with 4.2 packages. Could you please try to REMOVE the costum okular rule in kwin settings? [Bug 327199] [NEW] (KDE) Fullscreen applications flickering with effects ON
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kwin Desktop effects are ON by default in kde4 since 4.2 and in kubuntu since intrepid with kde 4.1. This means that they have to work with the rest of the desktop, without giving, too many headaches, at least on supported cards. This is IMHO not the case (yet). The issue I'll mention here happens with EVERY APPLICATION in fullscreen mode, under kde4 (for example gwenview presentation mode, konqueror fullscreen mode and so on) Basically, when using a fullscreen app, the screen flickers as a mad and makes the experience really unpolished and bad. In some cases, with some video cards (like my intel gma 950), this brings to crashes (okular presentation mode). Basically, kwin unredirects fullscreen windows to improve the performance, but the side effects of this are way bigger than benefits. How to resolve the problem: - open with your favourite editor this configuration file: .kde/share/config/kwinrc -under [Compositing] section add: UnredirectFullscreen=false - If you have no [Compositing] section create it, on the top of the config file, and then add the option under it. - save and exit - Press ALT+F2 to open krunner, then write into it: kwin --replace - No flickering/crashes anymore! ;) I think this should go in jaunty as default! ** Affects: kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- (KDE) Fullscreen applications flickering with effects ON https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327199 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 267768] Re: Can't turn off/on bluetooth via acpi in eeepc 901/1000
I forgot to say that this bug is also present in intrepid kernel 2.6.27, that from what I've understood, doesn't use eeepc-acpi.ko, but eeepc-laptop.ko OT: I don't know if there's much difference between the two, I only know that eeepc-acpi seems to work much better than eepc-laptop on my eeepc 901. With eeepc-laptop osd are very laggy and I also can't control webcam via acpi. So it would seem that the best solution is to patch eeepc-osd for bluetooth and include it in the kernel instead of eeepc-laptop, but I'm no expert to take such decision. -- Can't turn off/on bluetooth via acpi in eeepc 901/1000 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267768 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Try to run in a terminal glxgears and then: INTEL_BATCH=1 glxgears and compare the results. -- EXA is balls-achingly slow https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/177492 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 118605] Re: Feisty freezes upon Logout or Switch user
I'm still having the freeze in gutsy with the latest update. So for me this bug is not closed ...exact same graphic card and symptoms as Shadows_Friend. Having it with both compiz enabled and disabled...so I guess it's not a compiz issue, at least for us intel owners. -- Feisty freezes upon Logout or Switch user https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/118605 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 140028] Re: Right click makes the menu appear and disappear in an istant
update: do you use human style? Because with I can't reproduce the bug! But I can with Glossy and Clearlooks! So the bug may be in the styles? [Bug 140026] impossible to set the correct resolution with dual monitor (intel card)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk Hello to everyone, this is my first bug report and I'm just an user willing to help, not a programmer, so forgive me if there's something wrong with my report. Also please forgive my not so perfect english. I'm testing Ubuntu Gutsy. I have and intel gma950 card and two LCD displays. The first one ( the main one, the notebook display) is 1280x800. The second one is 1360x768. The problem is that, if I link them with VGA, they both go at 1360x768, so in the first display the image is cutted on the right part. So I tried to use displayconfig-gtk to solve this and set the second display as a mirror of the first at the correct resolution, but it doesn't work at all: - screen1 is set at 1366x768 and as default...I don't know if this is correct. I think default should be the notebook at 1280x800, not the external display connected with a vga cable. So I set this as secondary mirror display. - screen 2 is disabled. I enable it as default and set at 1280x800. Under model i choose LCD Panel 1280x800. Now something very bad happens: even if under model I have 1280x800, under resolution I dont get that, but only 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960, 1280x1024 and so on! But the worst part is that, no matter what I choose, the resolution of screen 1, which was ok before, is changed to 640x480. What a mess! :) This happens both using i810 and intel drivers. The problem happens even if I set screen1 as default and screen2 as secondary. So in gutsy, right now, there's no way I can set my second monitor correctly. ** Affects: displayconfig-gtk (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- impossible to set the correct resolution with dual monitor (intel card) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/140026 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 140028] Right click makes the menu appear and disappear in an istant
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem This only happens when watching movies. When I start totem everything is correct. When the movie starts i have to keep the right mouse button pressed to have the menu. This is because when a movie is playing it select the first option of the menu (play/pause), which is greyed out when you start the program. ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Right click makes the menu appear and disappear in an istant https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/140028 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 140030] Re: totem has a memory leak that crash the system (gutsy)
I think I've found something more. The problem appears to be caused by totem visual effects, enabled by default when you play music. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem With my intel card totem (with gstreamer) takes all the memory of the system if i play a music file (mp3, ogg etc.). In a second the system become too slow to respond and the only solution is reboot. The only way to stop this is to kill totem before it's too late. Videos work ok. This happens with ubuntu Gutsy.
