[Bug 368956] [NEW] page search with frames fails to use frame with focus.

2009-04-28 Thread Glen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

When searching a site that uses frames ff doesn't always use the frame that has
the focus. For example, it is difficult for me to search the main frame when
browsing javadocs. I often must open the frame I want to search as a
stand-alone tab.
Ubuntu 8.04- the Hardy Heron - released in April 2008.

firefox:
  Installed: 3.0.10+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1
  Candidate: 3.0.10+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1
  Version table:
 *** 3.0.10+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 0
500 http://security.ubuntu.com hardy-security/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 3.0.9+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy-updates/main Packages
 3.0~b5+nobinonly-0ubuntu3 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages

I would expect FF page search to follow the selected frame.

[Bug 347732] [NEW] Garbage bin falsely reporting items in bin

2009-03-23 Thread Glen
Public bug reported:

Release: Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex
Gnome-applets version: 2.24.1-0ubuntu1

I have recently deleted some items and clicked on the trash applet to
empty the garbage bin. After emptying the garbage bin the trash applet
still shows the trash full icon and when mousing over the icon it says
there are items in the trash. However when I open the trash there is
nothing there and it is not possible to empty it.

2009-03-30 Thread Glen
Yes it seems this bug displays odd behaviour in either direction. It may
report trash has items in it when it does not and vice versa.

I upgraded from a nearly stock install of Intrepid so it was a pretty
straight forward upgrade even though it is not usually recommended to do
so. I haven't found any other issues so far.

[Bug 104993] Re: [ati] X does not start when booting from 7.04 beta CD

2007-04-19 Thread Glen
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 89853 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/89853

My system is an ASUS A6J with an ATI X1600 mobility.

I can also confirm that the latest live-cd (the release candidate) will not
start X.
I have attached the Xorg log file in the hopes it helps resolve this matter.
I have also tried "safe graphics mode" to no avail.

It looks like it doesn't think the lcd will do 1024x768 (bad hsync) even though
I know it can do it.
The lcd native resolution is 1200x800

I also agree that from the perspective of affected ATI owners, the
current release is broken and should not be released.

[Bug 89853] Re: [regression] 7.2 broke vesa: "No matching modes found"

2007-04-19 Thread Glen
Same story, I have just tested the latest live cd (apparently the
release candidate)

Specs: Asus A6J laptop with ATI Mobility X1600, LCD native resolution
1200x800 widescreen.

X won't start in normal mode or "safe graphics mode"
It says 1024 768 has "bad hsync" in the log...

At the bottom :
(EE) VESA(0): No matching modes
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.

Attached is full xorg log file.

Sadly its looking very much like 7.04 will be released broken for many
users :(

I followed the instructions. (including the specified deb files)

Running X without gdb still results in segv.
Running X via gdb results in a unrecoverable blank black screen as soon as I
ran "run"
Getting back to a console was not possible (ctrl-alt-backspace, c+a fx, c+ fx,
etc)
So I ran gdb via SSH.

Hopefully it contains something useful for you.
Next message contains the xorg log file from that session.

[Bug 92036] Re: When clicking on mailto-link in Firefox, Evolution ignores BCC in settings

2008-04-20 Thread Glen
I would like to add my voice to this as well. Ever since I upgraded from
Gutsy to Hardy a few weeks ago Evolution no longer includes the address
in the "Always blind carbon-copy (bcc) to:," regardless of where the
composer window originates. As I do work from home, I always bcc myself
so that I have a copy of all emails sent from home on my work computer.
If I do not remember to add my address manually, I lose emails, which is
a Bad Thing. Not life-threatening in terms of importance, but very
annoying. Other than that, using Hardy is great!

[Bug 368956] [NEW] page search with frames fails to use frame with focus.

2009-04-28 Thread Glen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

When searching a site that uses frames ff doesn't always use the frame that has
the focus. For example, it is difficult for me to search the main frame when
browsing javadocs. I often must open the frame I want to search as a
stand-alone tab.
Ubuntu 8.04- the Hardy Heron - released in April 2008.

firefox:
  Installed: 3.0.10+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1
  Candidate: 3.0.10+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1
  Version table:
 *** 3.0.10+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 0

500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy-updates/main Packages
 3.0~b5+nobinonly-0ubuntu3 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages

I would expect FF page search to follow the selected frame.

[Bug 347732] [NEW] Garbage bin falsely reporting items in bin

2009-03-23 Thread Glen
Public bug reported:

Release: Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex
Gnome-applets version: 2.24.1-0ubuntu1

I have recently deleted some items and clicked on the trash applet to
empty the garbage bin. After emptying the garbage bin the trash applet
still shows the trash full icon and when mousing over the icon it says
there are items in the trash. However when I open the trash there is
nothing there and it is not possible to empty it.

[Bug 368956] [NEW] page search with frames fails to use frame with focus.

2009-04-28 Thread Glen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

When searching a site that uses frames ff doesn't always use the frame that has
the focus. For example, it is difficult for me to search the main frame when
browsing javadocs. I often must open the frame I want to search as a
stand-alone tab.
Ubuntu 8.04- the Hardy Heron - released in April 2008.

firefox:
  Installed: 3.0.10+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1
  Candidate: 3.0.10+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1

[Bug 89853] Re: [regression] 7.2 broke vesa: "No matching modes found"

2007-04-20 Thread Glen
I followed the instructions. (including the specified deb files)

Running X without gdb still results in segv.
Running X via gdb results in a unrecoverable blank black screen as soon as I
ran "run"
Getting back to a console was not possible (ctrl-alt-backspace, c+a fx, c+ fx,
etc)
So I ran gdb via SSH.

Hopefully it contains something useful for you.
Next message contains the xorg log file from that session.

files from it repeatedly. This leads to an "Image too large" error while

Not life-threatening in terms of importance, but very
annoying. Other than that, using Hardy is great!

deleted one email account (I had two email accounts setup in evoltuion.)
Problem goes away immediately! Is evolution not cabable of handling
multiple email accounts? I am using Ubuntu Dapper and evolution 2.6.1

Sadly its looking very much like 7.04 will be released broken for many
users :(

[Bug 89853] Re: [regression] 7.2 broke vesa: "No matching modes found"

2007-04-20 Thread Glen
I followed the instructions. (including the specified deb files)

Running X without gdb still results in segv.
Running X via gdb results in a unrecoverable blank black screen as soon as I
ran "run"
Getting back to a console was not possible (ctrl-alt-backspace, c+a fx, c+ fx,
etc)
So I ran gdb via SSH.

Hopefully it contains something useful for you.
Next message contains the xorg log file from that session.
