Allright, I will try http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Samsung/Samsung-CLP-550. Currently I am using the CLP-550(N)-driver from http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/ http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/ provides much more detailed (and better fitting) options than the common (X)Ubuntu printer driver. http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/ is based on the original Samsung driver (as far as I know). I cannot remember the detailed results between using the Ubuntu -/bchemnet-driver, it is too long ago. Just today I got the same problem as some few months ago with thunderbird (and I swear I really didn't changed anything or installed anything else): now the default path directs to the root-dir / due to this we run into three errors: (a) the direction to my home-path has been changed without any reason to me (b) I cannot change the default-path back to my home-dir (ok, that's not the truth - I must delete the session-directory from the hidden .cache-directory...no comment) (c) when printing to the root-dir, I don't get any error message. Of course I don't have the rights as a user to safe files to root. This bug is still present in Xubuntu/LUCID. Today I have checked this again on a fresh installation incl. all uptodate-updates. - exorbitant printing file size. Also I have checked the program Ocular, in addition to xpdf - both produce printing file size of max. 5 MBytes. So only evince has the problem with printing e.g. the attached file steckbrief_jara--Drucker platzt.pdf from above. So, why is this report still in status incomplete since my answere on 2010-04-14? Which informations else do you need? When using xpdf in lucid, the print job with these options is done within seconds. Hi, I am also unable to install the JRE-plugin, using the installation instructions on http://www.java.com/en/download/help/linux_install.xml#selfextracting. Meanwhile I have repeated this install-procedure for at least two JRE version, and always Firefox seems to notice nothing of the JRE plugin. Today (again) I have tried installed the file jre-6u20-linux-i586.bin into /usr/java/jre1.6.0_20/ (directory with user account rights). Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince Hi, when I am trying to print the attached PDF-file to my laser printer (Samsung CLP-550), the file size explodes an printing failes. - I guess, a -ps.file reflects the final printing file size. The attached file has a size of about 3,3 MBytes, the resulting *.ps-file has a size of about 95 MBytes. My printer has 64 MBytes. I cannot print the file. Well, I ca do, but by using Windows, then the file is printed immediately, while on Linux the printer is recieving and recieving..and then canceling. Solution: Buying special printer RAM for my laser for printing such huge files. To me, this is not really a solution as it should be. ok, i got the point. Yes, it is reproducable on my pc. I'd think you need only gcompris - I have not installed tuxpaint. Start games - gcompris on left side, select the 3. icon from top: puzzles now select the two blue fishes from top left in main window: this is photo hunter. two picture of coins appear. Watch for the cent-coin (down right). It does not matter how I click, absolutely nothing happens. Same with the 1 EUR-coin a bit higher: nothing happens when I am clicking onto the different parts of the pic.
