[Bug 302452] Re: intrepid shutdown/restart hang on "acpid: exiting"
I started receiving this problem after I changed graphic driver. I changed NVidia driver from the recommended driver to the older one trying to figure out the problem of the screen going blank on boot when the desktop should be up. This worked, now however, the system now won't shut down sometimes and gives the "acpid: exiting" error. -- intrepid shutdown/restart hang on "acpid: exiting" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/302452 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sorry, I sure don't know. I am not even sure what caused it with mine. I think it was the bluetooth, but not sure. aakgun wrote: > Greg: Yes, I do. It is the official 8.04. Re: [Bug 197522] Re: desktop-7.10-amd64 Hangs on CD boot
Do you have a new ISO? Mine worked after the official release build. I only had the problem during the beta versions. Ubuntu is still useless to me yet however as Hibernation is a requirement for me as I do most of my work off line and I load web pages for later viewing and other such things. I am therefore still stuck with Vista. Ubuntu is so much better. Good luck aakgun wrote: > Ibex, too: > > I have an Acer Desktop that has the same issue. Re: [Bug 213193] Re: [hardy beta] liveCD hangs at bluetooth
I was unable to do anything at that prompt. I tried a release from a few days before tje final release and it worked for me. I tried the final from the disk today and it works as well. This just keeps getting better and better, good job!! It would have been nice, however, to have received an acknowledgment that the bug had been accepted. Re: [Bug 213193] Re: [hardy beta] liveCD hangs at bluetooth

[Bug 213193] [NEW] liveCD hangs at bluetooth
Public bug reported: On my HP dv9700 notebook, I cannot boot to Hardy Beta (or any other older version) LiveCD. It works on my HP dv9500 notebook. The only difference is that the 9700 has a faster processor, a higher graphics card, two hard drives, finger print reader, and Bluetooth 2.0. The CD hangs at the Bluetooth line and leads me to suspect the Bluetooth 2.0 as the problem, the 9500 does not identify as Bluetooth 2.0. The descriptions below show identical Intel networking, but in the Windows hardware info the Bluetooth shows up differently although they are both Broadcom brand. - HP Pavilion dv9500t CTO NB - Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) - Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T7300 (2.00 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) - 17.0" WXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1440 x 900) - 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm) - 383MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS - Webcam + Microphone - Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection and Bluetooth(TM) - 160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive - LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support - 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery - HP Pavilion dv9700t Entertainment CTO NB - Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) - Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T7500 (2.20 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) - 17.0" WXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1440 x 900) - 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm) - 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS - Fingerprint Reader + Webcam + Microphone!! - Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection and BluetoothTM!! - 240GB 7200RPM SATA Dual Hard Drive (120GB x 2) - LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support - 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- liveCD hangs at bluetooth https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213193 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 204097] Re: When fsck fails, the machine reboots and does the check again
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 209416 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209416 Thank you Mary Gardner, your description on using fdisk and fsck was short and excellent. I have been workking for three days trying to fix my broken Ubuntu partition. WinXP hikkuped and required a boot disk scan (I suspect from my son not removing his camera properly) and I think that it may have messed some things up. I wish more people were as good in explaining things as you were here. -- When fsck fails, the machine reboots and does the check again https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204097 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 197522] Re: desktop-7.10-amd64 Hangs on CD boot
I have both HP dv9500cn and a dv9700cn notebooks and they both have bluetooth. 7.10 does not work with the sound because it was new (digital, blah, blah...on a notebook?). I have been trying the last three Alpha versions and the sound now works. On the 9500, everything including the bluetooth works perfectly. On the 9700 however, the liveCD hangs at bluetooth. By looking at the hardware description, I have gathered that the 9700 uses a newer (2) version of bluetooth. If that is the case, I hope that can be included before the final version in april. It would be great to have more open doors at the hardware side of things. -- desktop-7.10-amd64 Hangs on CD boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197522 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
