[Bug 841948] Re: [ASUS n51v] Kernel versions 2.6.38 and above are extremely slow
Christopher, my comment is about this bug (#841948). My intention was only to bring more information that could help in some way. Even apologize for having written that Open SUSE worked ok on my ASUS, actually it didnĀ“t work, it shows the same problem than this bug (#841948). After writing here, a saw the comments on kernel.org bug tracker: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42725, and they are very close to reach the root of this problem. Thanks for answer and sorry for not been so clear. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/841948 Title: [ASUS n51v] Kernel versions 2.6.38 and above are extremely slow To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/841948/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 841948] Re: [ASUS n51v] Kernel versions 2.6.38 and above are extremely slow
Friends, I have an ASUS n51V laptop and I still have the Ubuntu 10.10 version running on it. I tried all new UBUNTU versions after 10.10 and no success on any version. I tried the live cd versions of open SUSE (openSUSE-12.1-GNOME-LiveCD-i686.iso) and Debian (debian-6.0.5-i386-CD-1.iso) and all those versions works fine, only Debian show dificulties with my video card (nvidia GT 240M) and wirelless (Intel Corporation WiFi Link 5100), but no performance problems on any of them. May be a comparation with other distros could open possibilities of solving this issue.
