[Bug 251686] [NEW] Microphone doesn't record on 8.04

2008-07-24 Thread Luiz Guilherme
Public bug reported:

Hi, first of all, my pc is a Toshiba A105 with an Intel Corporation
82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller. When I activate
the microphone in the sound menu and try to record something, depending
on the application the result is a big boring sound(Ex. Sound Recorder),
or some applications say that i don't have microphone device(Ex. Ardou
GTK2) and the result is nothing. But when I activate, I can hear my
microphone on the speakers.

[Bug 245118] Re: NIKON D80 with firmware 1.10 needs support in in unusual_devs.h

2008-07-30 Thread Guilherme Salgado
Is it really 1.10 that needs to be in unusual_devs.h? The patch at
http://lkml.org/lkml/2008/7/14/262 seems to imply that it should fix the
issue for D80+1.11 as well, but isn't it actually replacing 1.10 with
1.11 on the D80 section?

[Bug 81082] Re: "Australia/Perth" time zone needs updating

2008-03-31 Thread Guilherme Salgado
python-tz is now a dependency of launchpad-dependencies; now we just
need someone to fix the script which creates rocketfuel-built to stop
including it in sourcecode/. We may also want to tell all developers to
remove sourcecode/pytz/ once that's done.

you how to reproduce it, but I can help debugging if necessary; just let

[Bug 259293] Re: Ecryptfs Private Directory Randomly Unmounts

2008-10-09 Thread Guilherme Salgado
My user has a cronjob setup to run 4 times a day, and every time the
cronjob finishes, my ~/Private dir is unmounted. I ran a small script to
print the exact time in which the directory was unmounted and then I
matched that against /var/log/auth.log -- that's how I realized it was
unmounted after my cronjob finishes. This is what I have in
/var/log/auth.log

Oct 9 18:05:01 feioso CRON[32102]: pam_unix(cron:session): session opened for
user salgado by (uid=0)
...
Oct 9 18:07:00 feioso CRON[32102]: pam_unix(cron:session): session closed for
user salgado

At that point my user's ~/Private was unmounted.

[Bug 161745] Why isn't thinkpad-brightness-down.sh used for Lenovo thinkpads?

2007-11-09 Thread Guilherme Salgado
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi-support

/etc/acpi/thinkpad-brightness-[down,up].sh is a no-op on Lenovo laptops,
but as we can see in acpid logs[1], whenever the brightness up/down keys
are used, /etc/acpi/video_brightness[up,down].sh is called, and that
script is identical to the first one, except that it doesn't special
case Lenovo laptops.

[Thu Nov 8 16:19:14 2007] completed event "video LCD0 0086 "

Also, if you don't have the 'video' module loaded, the "video LCD0
0086 " event is not fired and thus the brightness keys don't
work. For some reason that module is not loaded on bootup for me and so
the brightness keys don't work on my T60.

2006-10-09 Thread Guilherme Paula
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

I run firefox:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ firefox

About ten minutes later, he crashes, and appears this message in the
console:

The program 'Gecko' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadGC (invalid GC parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 2017696 error_code 13 request_code 66 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

[Bug 71982] Netspeed says my interface is down, even though it's up

2006-11-15 Thread Guilherme Salgado
Public bug reported:

Since I started using gnome's network manager, netspeed shows all my
network interfaces as being disabled, even after I choose the network I
want to use (with network manage) and log into it.

For instance, now I get the following from ifconfig:
eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:18:DE:74:1D:AF
  inet addr:10.133.253.246 Bcast:10.133.255.255 Mask:255.255.0.0

[Bug 72234] Thinkpad won't go to sleep if lid is closed and the AC adapter is unplugged

2006-11-17 Thread Guilherme Salgado
Public bug reported:

I configured my Thinkpad T60 to go to sleep when the lid is closed and
it's running on battery, and to blank the screen when running on AC
power. Closing the lid causes what I expect to happen in both cases, but
if I close the lid while the laptop is running on AC power and then
unplug the AC adapter, it won't go to sleep.

This works just fine on a Thinkpad T42 running dapper, and later I'll
see if I get the same results with a dapper live CD on the t60.

[Bug 75462] Intel Core Duo stuck at low speed without battery

2006-12-12 Thread Guilherme Salgado
Public bug reported:

Using ondemand governor, frequency scaling works as expected when the battery is
in the system, both with A/C plugged in or unplugged. When the bettery is
removed, if the CPU is busy, it keeps running at 1.66GHz,
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu[01]/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq shows 1667000. When
the busy job quits, the CPU drops back to 1GHz and
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu[01]/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq also changes to 100
and can no longer be increased. After reinserting the battery,

[Bug 80893] Re: [Feisty] Inaudible audio upon resuming from suspend-to-disk

2007-04-26 Thread Guilherme Salgado
Here's a x86 2.6.20-15-generic feisty kernel which should fix this bug. I just
tried and it worked just fine --sound works after resuming.
http://rookery.ubuntu.com/~kyle/kernels/salgado/2007-04-25/

Since the patch author is claiming that his patch (which has been
reverted on the above kernel) couldn't have caused this, it'd be good to
get as many people as possible to try it and confirm.

[Bug 281229] Re: Touch button misfunction in HP Pavilion DV5 1030ev

2008-12-01 Thread Guilherme Paula
I have a HP dv5-1002nr with the same problem using Ubuntu Intrepid. All
buttons work, except the Quick Play button (that launchs a media player)
and Wireless On/Off button.

Re: [Bug 275952] Re: Unread search folder removes messages as soon as their unread flag is toggled

2008-11-26 Thread Guilherme Salgado
2.24.2 didn't fix it for me. I tried re-creating the folder as Alfredo
suggested, but it didn't help either.
