[Bug 1124064] Re: continusly apport send me error crash event on apport-gpu-error-intel.py

2013-03-28 Thread Guilherme Buonfiglio de Castro Monteiro
I'm not sure this is a kernel problem.
I remember this problem started for me after installing updates, including the
3.5.0-26 kernel, but reverting to 3.5.0-25 did not helped, in my case.

I'm now using gdm and xfce instead of lightdm and unity, and at least
the error reports are not showing up.

[Bug 1011782] Re: samba core dump after upgrade from 10.04 to 12.04

2012-06-11 Thread Guilherme Buonfiglio de Castro Monteiro
Hello,

I was able to start Samba now commenting the following lines on smb.conf:
ldapsam:editposix = yes
ldapsam:trusted = yes

When upgrading, I received a warning that idmap directives are now
obsolete in smb.conf and I've commented them. I'm not sure on ldapsam
entries but maybe this is the case.

2012-06-11 Thread Guilherme Buonfiglio de Castro Monteiro
Public bug reported:

Hello,

I've being using Samba with OpenLDAP on Ubuntu 10.04 and after upgrading it to
12.04 smbd does not start anymore.
I did verify pam/ldap integration and everything looks fine. I was able to
login with a ldap user through ssh, did getent passwd, smbldap-grouplist and
smbldap-usershow. Everything looks fine, except smbd.

I've installed samba debugging symbols and attached my configuration,
logs and the core itself.

[Bug 588419] Re: [Maverick A1]Windows don't rise on focus

2010-09-27 Thread Guilherme Buonfiglio de Castro Monteiro
I'm experiencing the same problem.
I've did upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10 Beta, Netbook edition.
When I start in "normal Gnome Session", I get no window controls and menus on
applications where these items appears on top bar of the new Netbook edition
GUI.
If I start in Gnome failsafe, everything works fine.

I've already tried to delete gnome-session, compiz, changed from no
effects to normal and extra effects, but nothing helped.

[Bug 546494] [NEW] LCD brightness not correct on Asus Eee 1005

2010-03-24 Thread Guilherme Buonfiglio de Castro Monteiro
Public bug reported:

Hello,

This is a regression.
I had Karmic on Asus Eee PC 1005PE and had brightness set at 100%.
After upgrading to Lucid Beta 1 I have noticed a darker display.

cat /proc/acpi/video/VGA/LCDD/brightness
levels: 0 3 6 9 12 16 19 21 24 27 29 30 32 33 34 36
current: 36

Testing it, I figured out that level 30 is the brightest, 32 is off and
upper levels are just like the first levels, maybe 36 being equivalent
to level 24.

[Bug 546448] [NEW] wrong firefox ui language after Karmic to Lucid upgrade

2010-03-24 Thread Guilherme Buonfiglio de Castro Monteiro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

Hello,

I've did an upgrade from Karmic to Lucid Beta 1.
I had previously full Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR) language support installed.
After upgrading, Firefox started with wrong language for it's interface. It
defaults to Portugal Portuguese (pt-PT) and Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR) was
not even installed as an add-on.
To work around this I had to install Firefox pt-BR add-on from

[Bug 546399] [NEW] network-manager quits during upgrade

2010-03-24 Thread Guilherme Buonfiglio de Castro Monteiro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

Hello,

I've did an upgrade from Karmic to Lucid beta 1 on an Asus Eee PC 1005 using a
wifi connection.
All packages were downloaded successfully but after starting package
installation the wifi connection was dropped and the network-manager icon
disappeared.
The only resulting problem from this was not having flash working anymore as
flashplugin-installer downloads flash code during package configuration.

The work around was, after rebooting the machine, "sudo dpkg-reconfigure
flashplugin-installer".

I understand a ton of libraries being updated so maybe some network-
manager automatic restart procedure during upgrade and also an after
reboot flashplugin-installer reconfiguration would be necessary.

[Bug 345721] [NEW] Sony Vaio VGN-AR730 does not suspend anymore

2009-03-19 Thread Guilherme Buonfiglio de Castro Monteiro
Public bug reported:

This is a regression. I use suspend a lot on Sony Vaio VGN-AR730 running
Intrepid but on Jaunty it stopped working.
Closing the Lid looks like not triggering anything and selecting suspend from
Gnome Panel actually suspend the computer but when trying to return operation
it does not work at all (I have to send +++"REISUB" sequence
to reboot it).

Please let me know which debugging procedures I need to do.

Thanks and Best Regards,
Guilherme

[Bug 345677] [NEW] HeadSet and Microphone problems on Sony Vaio VGN-AR730

2009-03-19 Thread Guilherme Buonfiglio de Castro Monteiro
Public bug reported:

Running Jaunty Alpha6 64bit from the Live DVD just to test the problems
I current face on Intrepid, thing are very distinct relating to song so
I guess it does not fits anymore on the previous bug reports.

Basically the following problems happens:
1) When connecting a HeadSet, sound continues on the laptop speakers, no
headset sound at all
2) Internal microphone is active but very low, even after raising all
microphone levels and boost levels.
3) Attaching a microphone works, but it's very loud and changing microphone
levels and boost levels don't make any difference at all. It's also very noisy
and distorted (see attachment to have an idea)

Thank you and Best Regards,
Guilherme Monteiro

kern.log shows:

I confirm that switching monitors does not work. In my case it's Fn-F5 and my
notebook is a Toshiba U305-S5127 with Gutsy updated August 25 2007.
I will attach the same files you asked for John.

[Bug 57227] Re: xserver-xorg-core 1.0.2-0ubuntu10.3 missing some device drivers? X doesn't start: stops to fatal error

2006-08-22 Thread Guilherme Buonfiglio de Castro Monteiro
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 57153 ***

Hi!

I can also confirm this bug. I had to downgrade xserver-xorg-core to
1.0.2-0ubuntu10.1 on both machines I have here.
One is using the "nvidia" driver and the other one the "sis" driver.

X -configure tries all drives and cannot load anyone.

I would also suggest that this should be a critical bug.

Best Regards,
Guilherme Buonfiglio de Castro Monteiro
