[Bug 567248] Re: skype in empathy (bigbrownchunx-skype-dbus) with pidgin-skype

2010-12-29 Thread Guillaume Lecanu
Hello :-)

@Benjamin Schmid:
I have exactly the same problem. I have just re-installed from scratch a
Maverick version, I have firstly tried the pidgin-skype package in the
repository, but I have also tried the Skype4Pidgin.deb on the Eion website.

Each time, I see the protocol in the account creation, but no Skype
authorisation popup...

Any ideas ?

[Bug 655015] Re: [Feature Request] Sound notification when a message wasn't be readed after 1 minute

2010-10-05 Thread Guillaume Lecanu
@Alessandro Aragione:
Hello,

Thanks for your quick update, but you set the status as "Invalid"
without any reason, can you explain why it's invalid please ?

May be my report is not filled correctly ? or it's already implemented ?
or I have not explained it correctly ? or may be you don't see why this
request feature is usefull ? or may be you don't want to add this ?

I'll try to be explain better this feature :

In the menu "Edit" / "Preferences" / "Sounds", we can set sounds
notifications on multiples events, like for example "Message received".

I doesn't active the "Message received" sound notification because, for
me, it's boring to listen this sound for every new message.

Sometimes, when you talk and doing others things at the same time (surf
on the web, looking video in full screen etc...) you doesn't see the
Empathy status icon notification, and so you can skip an important
message to read.

This is why I proposed this request, to create a new event like "Message unread
since 1 minute".
Like that, if there is a new message still not read (focus on the tab) after 1
minute, a sound is played to alert me, and I'll never skip again an important
message.

In a better way, this could be named "Forgotten message" in the "Play
sound for events" list, with and a new option in the "Notifications" tab
like "A message is considered forgotten after [ 60 ] seconds", where the
time should be customised.

I hope it's better explained ! :-)

Thanks !

Best regards

[Bug 561266] [NEW] Reply doesn't choose the good email sender like in previous version

2010-04-12 Thread Guillaume Lecanu
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Hello,

I use Evolution since many years now, thanks for this great applications
!

Yesterday, I have upgraded my Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope version to Karmic
Koala (Yes I know, Lucid Lynx will be out in few days, but I always wait
some months to upgrade to be sure majors bugs are fixed).

But today, I've found a regression bug in Evolution.
For our business, we have multiples accounts (about 10 to 15). We have an IMAP
server where all messages are stored.

When we click on the "reply" button, Evolution doesn't set anymore the good
email sender address.
In the previous versions, Evolution detect automatically the "To" field of the
message, and look in the sender emails address if there is a matching account.

We can't uses Evolution like that, we will try to re-install an older
version of Evolution if we can while you fix the bug.

Thanks

This bug seems to be fixed in the version 2.29 :

Or a ppa link to have the latest version of Evolution inside Karmic Koala ?

[Bug 409795] Re: evolution mail aliases regression

2010-04-12 Thread Guillaume Lecanu
@Sebastien Bacher:
Is it possible to have a ppa repository in this case ?

For us, it's a big problem in our company, we have upgraded all
computers desktop from Jaunty to Karmic this morning. Now this make a
lots of problems for all our employees, they have to choose one of our
ten identities each time ...

Or do you have a solution to get an older version like 2.26 inside
Karmic Koala ?

Thanks for your time and your help.

[Bug 409795] Re: evolution mail aliases regression

2010-04-12 Thread Guillaume Lecanu
For us it's a very big problem because we have a lots of identities and
we need to reply multiples hundreds of emails every day.

Our administration staff manage multiples companies (partners in the
same office) for multiples services (commercial, supports, recruitments
etc), with one centralized IMAP account. Each company or service is
stored in different folders.

Since many years, the good identity was directly preselected when we
click on the "reply" button (by looking the "To" field of the message).
Since the Karmic upgrade this morning, Evolution is now in 2.28, and
there is no detection of the identity, it's directly the first identity
created in Evolution.

Now, our staff need to select manually the identity, this take more time
but it's not the worst. Imagine if someone forget to change the
identity. A message could be badly replied under the wrong company or
from the wrong service.

We need solve urgently this problem, by downgrading to 2.26. Can you
explain me how to go back in 2.26 please, or give me a simple link on
the web if there is to make this downgrade ?

Thanks a lots !

[Bug 409795] Re: evolution mail aliases regression

2010-04-12 Thread Guillaume Lecanu
Ok... Thanks for your help Sebastien.

We prefer Evolution, but we will uses Mozilla Thunderbird while the fix
come in Ubuntu Karmic (If this come a day in Karmic..).

The bug seems fixed in Fedora 13 since at least one month :
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=588833

Generally, we wait many months after a new version of Ubuntu to limit the risks
(we have upgraded to Karmic this morning, out since 5 or 6 months now).

An appreciate feature in Ubuntu should be to ask the user before
"upgrading" a package if there is regression bugs inside the product.
This could prevent of theses kind of situation.

[Bug 409795] Re: evolution mail aliases regression

2010-04-13 Thread Guillaume Lecanu
@Sebastien Bacher:
Of course, I have tested all sensible things after upgrading the first computer
(kernel, drivers, printer, scanners, fax, voip, etc). But I haven't tested all
options of all applications, because, since Warty, I never see any regression
bug in applications of Ubuntu.

I know you do your best, and I know it's not a simple task, we sincerely
appreciate all your works, I don't blam you at all.

I have only suggested an appreciate feature to prevent theses kind of
problem.

This bug was reported in August 2009, before the final release of Karmic Koala
(November 2009).
May be it's possible while the dist-upgrading, to look in launchpad if there is
regression bugs reported, and in this case to show the subject / links and to
ask if we want to upgrade the package.

When I was on debian (before that Ubuntu exists), I remember the apt
dist-upgrade command do this automatically for all critical bugs. This
wasn't directly integrated in "apt" command, this was a plugin or
another package added, but I don't remember the name. May be it's
possible to do something similar, at least for the regression bugs and
critical bugs ?
