I confirm that the bug is still there. I install last update this morning (I saw xserver-xorg-video-ati, -radeon... update so I was expecting the bug to be solved). When I restart, I need to reboot more than 5 time before I get a desktop. And now, when the boot crash, I don't get any shell, screen stay black (as if it is off). I really expect this bug will be solved before the final release. Now, to start my computer, I need to restart several time to get the User Interface. Sometime, I've to do it more than 6 time. In stead of starting, I get the an error (see image, sorry for the poor quality). I can't explain why the computer start correctly after some reboot. I do nothing, just press the power button after the error, then, reboot. After doing this several time, Unity start. The error told me about Radeon. [Bug 424562] [NEW] Screen DELL E228WFP not auto-detected (Double Nvidia Graphic card)
Public bug reported: Here is the configuration : - Ubuntu 9.04 - CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPUQ6600 @ 2.40GHz - RAM : 2Go - Graphic Card : 2 GeForce 8800GT (512 Mb each) - Screen : DELL E228WFP - General configuration : DELL XPS Problem : This problem appear when X11 has been updated for "auto-configure" screen and graphic configuration (I mean since this update, xorg.conf is by default empty, it is like "plug-and-play"). I can't remember when this update has been made (which Ubuntu version) but since that version, I need to manually configure xorg.conf to have a graphic interface. If I do not, I get a message : Fatal server error no screen found giving up Xinit: connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to xserver Xinit: no such process (errno 3): server error So I have to use vi and edit xorg.conf to configure manually my hardware configuration. I can't identify if the problem comes from my screen (DELL E228WFP) which is not auto-detected or if it comes from the fact the I have 2 graphic cards. [Bug 424546] [NEW] Printer Oki C5800 is badly supported
Public bug reported: Since Ubuntu 8.10 (or 9.04), printer oki c5800 is supported and it's a good thing. But I discover tow bugs (one is really important) : - On big documents or when I print a lot of time the same page, I have to wait a lot of time before the document is printed. Sometime (when the quantity of information is to important), the document is not printed. I open the "system monitor" (in System > System monitor) to see how resources are used and processor is up to 100% during the printing process. - I've discover a quality problem on color documents. First, colors are dark. Secondly, there are plenty of points on photos or colored area as if colors were compressed (like jpg compression). See the attached file to see what it look like. I try to use other ICM Color Profile or increase resolution value to 600x1200dpi, but the result is the same. Look at the attachment to understand the problem. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: c5800 oki printer -- Printer Oki C5800 is badly supported https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/424546 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
