I put more detail information to #97, I am using Gnome shell 3.18.5 instead of Unity and Compiz. that my application is base on Qt 5.6.1 with OpenGL. Today, I updated from 16.04.5 to 16.04.6 and my Qt and openGL app can't display any contents. Only window titlebar appears and window's body is transparent. I got to know the strange reason about this. It appears when I used my favorit theme 'Adapta-Noto' for the gnome shell theme. but works good on default shell theme Adwaita. Wait in some while without doing. 4. Gnome-Shell doesen't give any response to me about any action. 5. Gnome-Shell restart with the new desktop. I found GVFS-GPhoto2 in the subject from syslog at that time. Nowdays what I have known is which the Gnome-Shell re-start only once at startup. that is follow, Step1. I login with my account on the Login Screen. Step2. Wait for ready Step3. Desktop Screen comes visible until Step3 it's all good works. Gnome-shell doesen't Re-Start. Step4. I run any a application such terminal, firefox, file browser(nautilus) .. Step5. Gnome-Shell doesen't response for some minutes(about 1 ~ 5 min) Step6. Gnome-Shell restart. (so new desktop screen is reloaded). I attached the crash dump file in /var/crash/_usr_bin_gnome-shell.1000.crash. Segfault is happened at line 3185. the problem as same for me, I have worked good few years Until Ubuntu 16.04 daily 20160406 works fine. the release run on the kernel 4.4.16. that is, the Wifi has no problem until got 16.04 daily 20160415+later. My WiFi connection failed mostly since I have upgrade to daily 20160415 + later. The network manger dosen't show any WiFi spots around me. I am using both wired and wireless lan. Wired perfect works. I desire to get that fixed in the next release. i have hard time of the issue. i tried with many way including which figured out above. after the patch but cu tells following, ./cu: mkdir (/usr/spool): Permission denied ./cu: /dev/ttyS0: Line in use for the patch, i download uucp 1.07 source from http://airs.com/ian/uucp.html and fixed sources pointed and compiled successfully. i have tried on many way such as changing owner or group with uucp, dialout or root. but same result. It works good with using usb to serial converter. but not for the serial cable on serial card(for me, System base single port PCI card). I have the success only under windows Teraterm program.
