[Bug 217892] Re: gdm with x11vnc not honoring KillInitClients
Why is this bug incomplete? I can't find any unanswered question. Please let me know if you need more information. I'm facing this bug in Jaunty too and I'd love to help. It'd also be great to upgrade x11vnc. The version provided for Jaunty is pretty, pretty old (it was released two years ago!). Newer versions support a new argument (-reopen) which fixes the ugly cursor issue caused by the -noxfixes workaround. -- gdm with x11vnc not honoring KillInitClients https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/217892 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 109934] Re: Black and white S-video output only on PAL TVs with intel video driver
OK, I think I found the ultimate workaround. :) If you hate running randr all the time, as much as I do, you can try this: 1.- Make sure your 'Section Device' contains this: Driver intel 2.- Add the following section: Section Monitor Identifier TV Option TV Format PAL EndSection That's it. [Bug 375358] Re: [Jaunty] My system freezes several times a day; Ctrl+Alt+Backspace doesn't work.
@Mathieu: You were right, there was a program eating the CPU. This wasn't shown in the attachments above because I took ~3 minutes to turn on the other computer and log the output requested after the freeze. But today it crashed and the other computer was already on, so I could check `top` immediately and it showed that kontact was using 101% of the CPU. It surprised me because everything was working fine, it must have reached that point in one millisecond. I logged that and came to launchpad.net to attach such file, but as usual my computer froze (this time without kontact open) and I went to the other computer to log `top` with the new freeze, but by mistake I overrode the previous file -- and this time, top showed no program using more than 10% of the CPU. -- [Jaunty] My system freezes several times a day; Ctrl+Alt+Backspace doesn't work. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/375358 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

(Yes, I know it's disabled by default, but I re-enabled it and it does work when the system is not frozen.) 3.- Many times it happens when I'm using Kmail or Konqueror. One more update on this issue: I can't connect to WPA2 networks, although _sometimes_ it works if I re- try over and over again. I don't know why in Intrepid you enabled ndiswrapper while fwcutter worked so great on this machine. It seems to be causing this problem because it's solved after I commented this line: # replaced by b43 and ssb. #blacklist bcm43xx and replaced the lines I mentioned above when I reported this problem with: blacklist b43 blacklist ssb blacklist ndiswrapper in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist. Oh, one more thing: If I start my laptop with the same contents /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist has by default, then the WiFi LED never turns on and to connect to my network I have to do the next procedure every time I start my computer: Go to System - Hardware Drivers and enable the B43 wireless driver (the first of the list; there are two with the same title, but the second one has no description; by the way, before enabling it, I see a message that warns that another version of the driver is in use). Note that this is with an updated Intrepid system, as when Intrepid was just out this didn't even work without the procedure I mentioned when I reported this bug. When I enable that driver, knetworkmanager connects to my WiFi network quickly. However, my eth0 interface is apparently disabled. On the other hand, with the b43/ssb modules blacklisted, there's only one driver available whose name is wl. This is a mess. [Bug 267193] [NEW] python-ldap is ignored by easy_install
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: python-ldap If I install python-ldap via apt-get and then I try to install a package that depends on python-ldap (say repoze.who.plugins.ldap) via easy_install, the python-ldap install by apt-get is ignored and easy_install tries to download and install it by itself. This doesn't happen with packages such as python-openid. ** Affects: python-ldap (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- python-ldap is ignored by easy_install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267193 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 236027] [NEW] Lighttpd's fastcgi module assumes php5-cgi is installed
Public bug reported: By default, when this module is enabled it assumes php5-cgi is installed, which makes Lighty crash *with* *no* *warning* if php5-cgi is not installed. You should either make php5-cgi a dependency of lighttpd or just don't assume it's installed (in config file /etc/lighttpd/conf- enabled/10-fastcgi.conf). I'm using Hardy. ** Affects: lighttpd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - Lighhtpd's fastcgi module assumes php5-cgi is installed + Lighttpd's fastcgi module assumes php5-cgi is installed -- Lighttpd's fastcgi module assumes php5-cgi is installed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236027 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 236105] [NEW] Missing socket for FastCGI in Lighttpd
Public bug reported: If I enable FastCGI in Lighttpd, Lighty crashes because FastCGI's configuration refers to a missing socket file: /tmp/php.socket In the errors log file, people will find something like: = 2008-05-30 12:40:58: (log.c.75) server started 2008-05-30 12:40:58: (mod_fastcgi.c.1029) the fastcgi-backend /usr/bin/php-cgi failed to start: 2008-05-30 12:40:58: (mod_fastcgi.c.1033) child exited with status 9 /usr/bin/php-cgi 2008-05-30 12:40:58: (mod_fastcgi.c.1036) If you're trying to run PHP as a FastCGI backend, make sure you're using the FastCGI-enabled version. You can find out if it is the right one by executing 'php -v' and it should display '(cgi-fcgi)' in the output, NOT '(cgi)' NOR '(cli)'. For more information, check http://trac.lighttpd.net/trac/wiki/Docs%3AModFastCGI#preparing-php-as-a-fastcgi-programIf this is PHP on Gentoo, add '$ 2008-05-30 12:40:58: (mod_fastcgi.c.1340) [ERROR]: spawning fcgi failed. 2008-05-30 12:40:58: (server.c.908) Configuration of plugins failed. Going down. = The work-around is: sudo touch /tmp/php.socket sudo chown www-data /tmp/php.socket (Using Hardy) ** Affects: lighttpd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Missing socket for FastCGI in Lighttpd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236105 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
