[Bug 1291969] Re: No usb on resume from suspend
Problem seems related to Nouveau drivers. After installing Nvidea binary drivers the problem was fixed. So still exists for nouveau drivers -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1291969 Title: No usb on resume from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1291969/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1291969] Re: No usb on resume from suspend
confirmed, still exists after sudo apt-get dist-upgrade. All USB devices stop working, but I noticed also internet cable connection stopped working. so it is even broader then USB. [Bug 1315978] Re: upgrade 13.10 to 14.04 moved grub to MBR
Addition maybe relevant: After I got the upgraded partition to start, I noticed that Windows7 no longer was in the Grub menu. So I launched the app "Grub customizer". Saving Grub however did not correct this. I then noticed that according to "Grub customizer" Grub was not in the MBR, so it saved it to the partition. After choosing "install in MBR" the problem was solved. So it seems that even though Grub was installed in MBR, Ubuntu itself was not aware of that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1315978 Title: upgrade 13.10 to 14.04 moved grub to MBR To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1315978/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1315978] [NEW] upgrade 13.10 to 14.04 moved grub to MBR
Public bug reported: I upgraded from 13.10 to 14.04 via the update manager. Before upgrade Grub was in the Ubuntu partition and I booted Grub via the windows7 bootmenu (modified with EasyBCD). During the Upgrade grub was automatically installed in MBR. After reboot it showed Grub, but choosing Ubuntu, it did initialize a start (Screen changed) then stopped. (Windows worked fine). I noticed however there was no disk activity at all. So I suspected something wrong with the Ubuntu Grub entry. I then installed 14.04 on another partition with the live.iso on USB, Grub was renewed in the process, and then the upgraded partition did start and all was well with the upgrade. Expected behaviour: Keep Grub in the Partition or move it to the MBR after asking. If allowed to move Grub to MBR, it should at least work. [Bug 1291969] Re: No usb on resume from suspend
I have the same problem here after a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04. When I suspend I can still wake up de computer with my USB mouse or keyboard, but they no longer function correctly. For instance the mouse cursor will still move but clicking no longer works. I can wake up with the keyboard but then it stops working. USB memory stick also seems frozen. Reconnecting devices does not help. My keyboard lights up briefly but that is all. The mouse completely stops working after reconnect. On another partition I first did an upgrade from 13.10 to 14.04. Suspend works fine here. I did a fresh install on another partition bescause it would not boot. After the new install the grub menu was updated and it works fine now. But then I noticed the suspend problem on the fresh install. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1291969 Title: No usb on resume from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1291969/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 987060] Re: massive memory leak in unity-panel-service and hud-service when invoking the hud on Firefox profiles with large amounts of bookmarks
Ubuntu 13.10, FF 28.0. Did some more testing. Problem indeed starts when you press ALT en type something. Due to my huge bookmark collection hud- service takes 1.3 GB and unity-panel-service 900MB (FF 800MB after start) and for some reason it stalls FF eventhough CPU usage is only 3%. After ending the services FF becomes responsive again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987060 Title: massive memory leak in unity-panel-service and hud-service when invoking the hud on Firefox profiles with large amounts of bookmarks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-appmenu/+bug/987060/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 987060] Re: massive memory leak in unity-panel-service and hud-service when invoking the hud on Firefox profiles with large amounts of bookmarks
Using 13.10. I have thousands of bookmarks in firefox 28.0. I disabled the unity extensions in Firefox. Most of the times it works okay, and I did not have the problem on earlier versions of Ubuntu. But lately Hud- service and unity-panel-service reach gigabytes of ram, totally stalling my computer. I do not understand what triggers it. It even happens if I did not use the HUD. Unity Panel service now is more than 1 gig and I cannot end the process anymore in system monitor. In privacy settings I disbabled: - use of file and app usage - internet search results - I excluded the firefox webbrowser So why is it still collection browser information?

[Bug 583450] [NEW] No mouse cursor after resuming from suspend
Public bug reported: I disabled the pasword for resuming from suspend, this way: Applications Menu, System Tools, Configuration Editor. select apps, then gnome-power-manager. Scroll down to lock_on_suspend and uncheck. Now ununtu resumes without asking pasword, but the mouse cursor is invisble though the mouse still operates normally.
