[Bug 1566302] Re: Ubuntu 16.04: Suspend freezes the system after upgrade to linux image 4.4.0-16

2016-05-20 Thread Haakon Nilsen
Confirming: resume wasn't working on default 4.4.0 kernels in Xenial.
Installed 4.4.11 mainline, and now it works.

[Bug 360963] Re: Amarok 2 kills sound for other apps

2012-08-09 Thread Haakon Nilsen
Can't speak for every supported LTS, but I haven't encountered this
problem for a very long time, probably years (now on 12.04). Perhaps the
problem is technically still there, but PA is more ubiquitous and
reliable now. Support close.

[Bug 875546] Re: Unable to wake from suspend to RAM

2012-05-01 Thread Haakon Nilsen
I've had the same problem for as long as the reporter, with a very
similiar hardware setup (same motherboard, and an nvidia card). The
problem persists in 12.04. My workaround used to be to use a 10.04
kernel, but in 12.04, that no longer works. This is highly annoying.

[Bug 659084] Re: 2.6.35-22-virtual is missing nfs modules

2010-10-13 Thread Haakon Nilsen
Awesome, that worked, thanks! In my own attempts I forgot about the
dependencies and the depmod thing.

For others following this recipe, replace ${nfsmods} with ${mods} (or
vica versa).

[Bug 659084] Re: 2.6.35-22-virtual is missing nfs modules

2010-10-13 Thread Haakon Nilsen
Good idea actually, but I can't get it to work. Copied the .ko-files for
nfs, nfsd and nfs_common over from the -kernel deb, but they can't be
loaded ("-1 Unknown symbol in module"). I don't want to risk further
destabilisation, so I think I'll just wait it out. Thanks.

[Bug 132042] Re: wireless stops working until reboot

2008-02-03 Thread Haakon Nilsen
I have this problem as well, with an ipw3945. It seems to have been
getting worse and worse lately; at this point I have to reboot several
times a day. It's driving me up the walls. That is all.

[Bug 92992] Re: Laptop speakers won't mute when using headphones

2007-11-19 Thread Haakon Nilsen
This problem has plagued me as long as I've owned this Lenovo 3000 N100
laptop, and still does in gutsy, kernel 2.6.22-14-generic. lspci says
soundcard is "00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7
Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02)".

The only way I've found to turn off the laptop speakers is to mute the
"External Amplifier" in alsamixer, but that makes the sound very muffled
and is not a solution.
