[Bug 1752053] Re: nvidia-390 fails to boot graphical display
I am also encountering this bug, after upgrading from Kubuntu 17.10 to 18.04. For me, initially only my Intel driver wouldn't work (with PRIME) - it would instead just go ahead and use the NVidia driver (even when PRIME said Intel was in use). However, upgrading to {xserver-xorg-video-nvidia-396,nvidia-driver-396 ,nvidia-utils-396} via the graphics-drivers ppa results in neither operating correctly and the fallback llvmpipe software renderer being used. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1752053 Title: nvidia-390 fails to boot graphical display To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1752053/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1752053] Re: nvidia-390 fails to boot graphical display
I upgraded from Kubuntu 17.10 to 18.04 and have the same issue. I was on the graphics-drivers ppa, so I did a ppa-purge but that was to no avail. For me, the weird thing is that it *seamlessly* says that it switched fine, but that it still just uses the NVidia dGPU instead of the Intel iGPU.

[Bug 986561] [NEW] Desktop Crashes Randomly while logged in [SEGFAULT]
Public bug reported: This has happened many times over the last few days. While I'm logged in and working, the displays just crash and go back to the login screen. I did check if the package in question had been updated, and I found that my system was up-to-date. Upon checking the syslog at '/var/log/syslog', I invariably find that a segfault occurs in 'libgdk-3.so.0.200.0'. Upon analysis of various other bug reports involving 'libgdk-3', I believe that there is a coding bug that is causing the segfault. I experienced this bug, and I have found a temporary fix (I use Oneiric): I don't know if it works the GUI way, but since I prefer the command- line anyways: -You Must be An Administrator on your local machine sudo apt-get remove banshee # Do NOT use --purge sudo apt-get install banshee sudo shutdown -r now # You could also use 'sudo reboot now' -You Must be An Administrator on your local machine Or we could summarize it on one line (This installs a few extensions too, and it also updates your other packages - because this is what I used | Copy and paste this on one line in the Terminal) : sudo apt-get remove banshee; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install banshee banshee-extension-soundmenu banshee-extension- ubuntuonemusicstore; sudo apt-get upgrade; shutdown -r now I was actually pretty amazed no one tried reinstalling. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/883023 Title: Banshee silently crashes during play To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/banshee/+bug/883023/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
