[Bug 1539939] Re: missing menu in top panel

Same annoying Bug Here.
Only firefox is untouched!

GTK apps get their menus disappear. I am forced to use the HUD or run $~ unity
command to make them appear again.
I can't believe this bug leaked to the official LTS RElease.

I upgraded from Ubuntu 15.10 to 16.04 LTS yesterday and did an update
today but the bug remains.

[Bug 984916] Re: Java Swing applications do not work with appmenu

2013-10-26 Thread Hanine HAMZIOUI
Great!
#Jarded it would be nice to make a debian file available for users who don't
want to add a PPA to their software sources.
In my opinion, we should ask that Jayatana becomes a default package in
Ubuntu. Seems like Ubuntu developer barely care about Java desktop applications.
Eventually, look at this bash script that produces a Debian File from your
executable JAR file:

Just got this bug today on 13.04. Everything is updated.
I am surprised it's marked as fixed.
Any further tests I could perform?

[Bug 1168063] [NEW] Friends not integrated with global menu & sticking to left of the screen

2013-04-11 Thread Hanine HAMZIOUI

After upgrading from 12.10 to 13.04, Friends app was installed, but when
I run it, it opens in the left of the screen giving no hand to be re-

screenshot. Otherwise, it stick on the left of the screen, its GUI

[Bug 904476] Re: HDMI wired to Nvidia does not work in a Nvidia Optimus Enabled Laptop

2013-02-25 Thread Hanine HAMZIOUI
HEllo Back,

Sorry for the delay.
I have installed a vanilla Raring (Build of 23 February) for testing purposes
and tested right away the HDMI support. SO this is what I obtained so far:

- HDMI is indeed recognized: When I plug the HDMI Cable in the laptop's HDMI
port and the monitor, the monitor is recognized and I can see that in the
DISPLAY (System settings) applet, as well as using XRANDR -q command.
- HDMI Audio is not supported (the Nvidia Audio through HDMI is not routed).
- Only the MIRROR option is functional (Mirrored displays): If I try to disable
the laptop display and let the external display enabled, lightdm restarts
immediately or I get an error of type:

-- gnome-settings-daemon : CRASH triggering apport-gtk.
-- DBUS error popup saying that the new configuration cannot be written (Right
after clicking on Apply button). I did not test directly with xrandr commands
but I suppose the same results would be produced.

I have heard that it would be "Won't Fix" unfortunately. For security
reasons when running apps with root privilege, access to menu proxy is
denied.

Re: [Bug 861171] Re: Shutdown from greeter does nothing when multiple accounts open

2012-11-30 Thread Hanine HAMZIOUI
What about this use case

- I am logged in as an administrator
- Suddenly, my brother next to me asks to log in to check his mails for 3
minutes.
- I move to the other room while he is logged (switched to another session)
in to a Standard session (mine is still on).

When I am back, I find the machine shut down. What the heck?
No...

To sum it up, when multiple accounts are logged in, Ubuntu should allow
only ADMINS accounts to force the Shutdown operation or the Standard user
if he/she has the SHUTDOWN privilege. The only requirement is that a
Warning box should be displayed (Other Accounts' sessions are still open,
are you sure you want to shutdown anyway?). That's a preventive way to see
the issue from an end-user side.

[Bug 1077568] Re: Theme parsing error: gtk-widgets.css:62:17: Theming engine 'unico' not found

2012-11-29 Thread Hanine HAMZIOUI
Hello.
I am still having this bug on 12.10 AMD64.
That affects all the Gnome applications (gnome-something...).

Besides the fact that all or almost gnome apps lost their integration with
Ubuntu Global Menu, I get the same error.
Example: in Terminal, run : zenity --progress

This problem occured when I used the GNOME3 PPA to upgrade NAUTILUS .
When I purged this latter and re-updated, the issue still presists. AM I
missing something? Or the fix was only for RR.

Re: [Bug 993187] Re: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.

2012-11-21 Thread Hanine HAMZIOUI
Hello,

Guys! MINT is based off Ubuntu.
Mint is nothing less than Ubuntu with another Desktop Environment
(CInnamon) and some tweaked options to make it look like Microsoft Windows.
Don't Fancy about it being more robust or life-savy!

For the freezing issue, I had it under 12.04 AMD64 (Complete freezing and
no TTY).
My problem was solved eventually by resetting Unity and Compiz:

$  unity --reset
$ unity --replace
$ compiz --replace

I am not yet sure it was the cure but my freeze disappeared right away.

I am running Both 12.04 and 12.10 on the same machine (AMD64) and they both
work just fine.
