[Bug 458334] Re: Fails repeatably with "DBus error org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor.NotFound: The given volume was not found"

2010-01-04 Thread Hannes Holm Ovrén
I had two entries: /dev/sdb and /dev/sdb1
By pressing the "format" button repeatedly on both entries it somehow managed
to finally format the partition and I could go ahead with the installation.
Unfortunately, due to random key presses I don't know what sequence actually
solves the problem.

[Bug 480887] [NEW] MSN disconnects repeatedly

2009-11-11 Thread Hannes Holm Ovrén
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala

My MSN account keeps getting disconnected with a "Name in use" error
message. I am quite certain that my MSN account is not connected at any
other computer (since I only use one).

Reconnecting by selecting "Available" works fine, but I get disconnected
after onyl a few minutes.

[Bug 273294] Re: Rhythmbox can not use smb:// as library location

2009-04-25 Thread Hannes Holm Ovrén
I just tried with Jaunty as well, and I could NOT import music from my
samba share unless I did "gnomevfs-ls smb://mywinpc/mymusic" first.
After that it worked.

[Bug 270880] Re: High CPU when on another user's desktop

2008-12-14 Thread Hannes Holm Ovrén
I also experience that compiz.real is using the CPU intensly when using the
gnome-fast-user-switching-applet.
I login as user A (which uses compiz) and then switch to user B. User B has no
problems. Then I switch back to user A again and after unlocking the screen the
desktop is almost unusable.
Doing ALT-F2 and "metacity --replace" is the only way I've found to bring back
my desktop without logging out and back in again.

[Bug 206060] Re: [Ubuntu] [hardy] openoffice.org-math should be installed by default (on CD)

Just wanted to second that Formula support really should be enabled by
default. I was about to file a bugreport about it being grayed out
before I stumbled over the fact that it is a separate package.

[Bug 242487] [NEW] Mounted media icons on desktop are hidden behind other icons

2008-06-23 Thread Hannes Holm Ovrén
Public bug reported:

When I plug in a removable media drive (USB-stick, SD-card, CD/DVD, etc) the
icon appears on the desktop.
On some (most) occassions the new icon is placed on a spot that is already
inhabited resulting in it being covered by another icon making it hard or
impossible to find!

[Bug 222413] Re: GStreamer-based applications will not play media unless sound mixer is Alsa

2008-05-07 Thread Hannes Holm Ovrén
Ok, now this is strange. I just tried it again, and now using pulseaudio works.
I could play both "Experience Ubuntu.ogg" and "ubuntu-sax.ogg" at the same time
(one in Totem, one in gnome-mplayer) without any problems.
Using pavucontrol I could control both streams appropriately.

Now I am confused.

[Bug 222413] Re: GStreamer-based applications will not play media unless sound mixer is Alsa

2008-05-07 Thread Hannes Holm Ovrén
I discovered the same thing.

I tried playing ~/Examples/Experience\ Ubuntu.ogg with both Totem and
mplayer.

With Preferences->Sound->Music and Movies set to "Detect Automatically"
or "Pulse Audio" Totem refuses to play it. When set to "Alsa" it works
flawlessly.

With gnome-mplayer or mplayer, if I set audio codec (using "preferences"
or the -ao CLI option) to "pulse" it doesn't work, but with "alsa" it
does.

[Bug 74070] Re: Google Calendar ics support

2007-01-08 Thread Hannes Holm Ovrén
I also have this problem on Edgy.
Importing a calendar from Google Calendar (using the private ics address)
usually works (but sometimes throws an "cannot resolve hostname" error) but it
does not sync. Or, it has synced once, but that is all. And I don't get error
messages.

[Bug 61758] Re: SD cards >512mb don't work in Ricoh card reader

2006-11-09 Thread Hannes Holm Ovrén
I can also confirm that a 2GB SD card freezes my system (Ubuntu Edgy 6.10) and
does not mount on my girlfriends Kubuntu 6.06. Both computers are Asus A6k.
Mine (can't access hers right now) have this card reader:

00:0a.2 Class 0805: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host
Adapter (rev 17)

Mounting cards up to 512 MB works without problem.

Hi.
This problem still persists in Dapper Stable (6.06.1). If I load the irda-utils

Haven't got IR working either (works in OpenSuse 10.1)
