[Bug 458334] Re: Fails repeatably with "DBus error org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor.NotFound: The given volume was not found"
I had two entries: /dev/sdb and /dev/sdb1 By pressing the "format" button repeatedly on both entries it somehow managed to finally format the partition and I could go ahead with the installation. Unfortunately, due to random key presses I don't know what sequence actually solves the problem. -- Fails repeatably with "DBus error org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor.NotFound: The given volume was not found" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/458334 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 270880] Re: High CPU when on another user's desktop
I also experience that compiz.real is using the CPU intensly when using the gnome-fast-user-switching-applet. I login as user A (which uses compiz) and then switch to user B. User B has no problems. Then I switch back to user A again and after unlocking the screen the desktop is almost unusable. [Bug 242487] [NEW] Mounted media icons on desktop are hidden behind other icons
Public bug reported: When I plug in a removable media drive (USB-stick, SD-card, CD/DVD, etc) the icon appears on the desktop. On some (most) occassions the new icon is placed on a spot that is already inhabited resulting in it being covered by another icon making it hard or impossible to find! ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Mounted media icons on desktop are hidden behind other icons https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/242487 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 222413] Re: GStreamer-based applications will not play media unless sound mixer is Alsa
Ok, now this is strange. I just tried it again, and now using pulseaudio works. I could play both "Experience Ubuntu.ogg" and "ubuntu-sax.ogg" at the same time (one in Totem, one in gnome-mplayer) without any problems. Using pavucontrol I could control both streams appropriately. [Bug 222413] Re: GStreamer-based applications will not play media unless sound mixer is Alsa
I discovered the same thing. I tried playing ~/Examples/Experience\ Ubuntu.ogg with both Totem and mplayer. With Preferences->Sound->Music and Movies set to "Detect Automatically" or "Pulse Audio" Totem refuses to play it. When set to "Alsa" it works flawlessly. With gnome-mplayer or mplayer, if I set audio codec (using "preferences" or the -ao CLI option) to "pulse" it doesn't work, but with "alsa" it does. -- GStreamer-based applications will not play media unless sound mixer is Alsa https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222413 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
