As lead of Ubuntu Dutch Translators and Gnome Dutch translators, I'd
say, go ahead. I have no idea what I, as a translator, can do about this
problem.

[Bug 1727997] Re: Missing Save and continue option

2017-10-27 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
I opened
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/artful/+source/gnome-control-center/+pots/gnome-control-center-2.0/nl/+translate
then chose Untranslated items > Change. As soon as I click the Change button,
the option "Save and Continue" disappears and the buttons First . Previous .
Next> . Last become grey (cannot be used).
The same happens when I go straight to one of the 7 untranslated strings.
This bug prevents me from finishing the translation.
This is a LP bug, but I mentioned this module because it only happens in
gnome-control-center-2.0 (Artful).

2016-10-24 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
I have reinstalled Xenial and then upgraded to Yakkety. The (web)
browser causes a serious crash after opening it in Unity8. I cannot even
use ctrl-alt-del and I have to do a cold start. On top of that, in
Unity7 this corrupted (web) browser has replaced my standard web browser
Firefox. I will send in a separate bug report for Unity8 in Yakkety
because this thread is about other problems in Xenial.

After having upgraded to 16.10 (from Xenial), I get an internal error:
/usr/lib/packagekit/packagekitd, crashed on SIGSEGVin_dynamic_cast(),
packagekit 0.8.17-4ubuntu6~gcc5.4ubuntu1.1.
Since I am fed up with all these problems I am going to reinstall Xenial, and
maybe Yakkety after that. I would have liked Unity8 to work on my PC, so that I
could test it before writing documentation for ubuntu-docs.

[Bug 1621005] [NEW] Lokalize does not work properly in Ubuntu Xenial 16.04

2016-09-07 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
Public bug reported:

The Lokalize feature "Projects" does not work in Ubuntu Xenial, the
Projects window remains empty. It worked in Ubuntu Trusty Tahr 14.04. I
installed the Trusty version in Xenial using

ppa_backports/trusty/main/base/lokalize but when I updated Xenial (sudo
apt-get update) the Projects feature was not working anymore. As a
translator, I use Lokalize (with Projects) a lot because for me it is
the best CAT software.

[Bug 1595238] Re: Unity 8 Desktop Preview System Settings do not work

2016-06-27 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
Hmmm. In ~/.cache/upstart there are lots of files with .log.gz extension, but
no application-legacy-ubuntu-system-settings-.log.gz or
application-legacy-webbrowser-app-.log.gz. With beginning letter "a" I only see
this: ~/.cache/upstart/at-spi2-registryd.log.gz
What I do have is /var/crash/_usr_bin_unity8-dash.1000.crash,
_usr_bin_unity8-dash.1000.upload, _usr_bin_unity8-dash.1000.uploaded,
_usr_lib_ibus__ibus-ui-gtk3.1000.crash,
_usr_lib_x86_64-linux-gnu_bamf_bamfdaemon.1000.crash and
_usr_share_apport_apport-gtk.1001.crash.
Do you want me to attach any of these? I used the unity8-dash.1000.crash in my
troubleshooting comment above.
In my troubleshooting comment I mentioned that NVIDIA driver causes a lightDM
freeze, and that X.org nouveau works well. Graphically (Mir?) I encounter no
problems. It is very, very fast indeed.
The spinning Ubuntu logo when trying to open System Settings or Web Browser: in
my view this means the program is looking for certain files which it cannot
find. Unfortunately, I cannot find the right .log file.
As for the Terminal: I tried to install one, but in the Ubuntu Store I keep
getting the message: Download or install error.
Does Unity 8 (network manager) not support a wired connection? I disable my
wired connection when starting Unity 8.

[Bug 1595238] Re: Unity 8 Desktop Preview System Settings do not work

2016-06-25 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
Troubleshooting (what I did to find a solution):
Crash report:
Go to var/crash
var/crash/_usr_bin_unity8-dash.1000.crash
Title: unity8-dash crashed with SIGSEGV in QOpenGLContext::shareGroup()
UnreportableReason:
There are some older package versions installed on your system. Upgrade the
following packages and see if the problem is still there:
 libglib2.0-0, libglib2.0-bin, libglib2.0-data
UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)
_MarkForUpload: True

I installed these missing packages, but I still have the same problems:
System Settings do not work (ubuntu logo keeps spinning infinitely)
Browser does not work (I disabled my wired connexion and used wifi instead, but
I cannot open Browser)
Terminal does not work (Control Alt T, or typing Terminal in Dash: nothing
happens)

I tried NVIDIA GeForce GT 530 driver: result: lightdm freezes.
Using X.org X server - Nouveau works fine, at least I can open Unity 8 and see
Indicators and Launcher.

I have written a log, I could publish it through Pastebin if it is any
use to you. I would be grateful if someone can help me making Unity 8
work because I plan to write documentation for the Ubuntu docs.

Thanks for reporting this. I have adjusted the Dutch translation.
Hopefully, there will be a language pack update soon.

[Bug 1348949] Re: touch emulator shows No data sources available

2014-07-28 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
More information: One example: the script looks for
emulator: trying to find:
/usr/share/android/emulator/out/host/linux-x86/bin/lib/pc-bios/bios.bin
I found bios.bin in
/usr/share/android/emulator/out/host/linux-x86/usr/share/pc-bios/bios.bin
Conclusion: during the installation with the command 'sudo apt-get install
ubuntu-emulator' files are not placed in the right directories. I cannot move
them elsewhere because files like bios.bin are protected.

[Bug 1348949] Re: touch emulator shows No data sources available

2014-07-27 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
The bug is that I cannot do anything with the emulator. It shows me the message
No data sources available. I think during installation files have not landed
in the right place, but I do not know why.
In David's quickstart guide it says: The phone UI – this is the visual part of
the emulator, where you can interact with the UI in the same way you’d do it
with a phone. You can use your mouse to simulate taps and slides.
The bug is that there is nothing to interact because there are no icons and
there is nothing to tap with the mouse.
Do you want me to send you a screenshot of the message No data sources
available?

[Bug 1348949] [NEW] touch emulator shows No data sources available

2014-07-26 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
Public bug reported:

What I did

23-7-2014
http://davidplanella.org/ubuntu-emulator-quickstart-guide/
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-sdk-team/ppa sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-emulator
me@ubuntu:~$ sudo ubuntu-emulator create mijntouch --arch=i386
Succesfully created emulator instance mijntouch in
/home/hannie/.local/share/ubuntu-emulator/mijntouch
me@ubuntu:~$ ubuntu-emulator run mijntouch

cgroup_path=user failed: invalid request
 * Setting up X socket directories...[ OK ]
 * Starting automatic crash report generation: apport

My computer crashed!!! Crash report .crash is too big to send as an attachment

Troubleshooting
after having replaced the nouveau driver with nvidia version 304.117 for my
GeForce 6, the emulator works. I got an introduction and on the display I now
see date, time and the message No data sources available. There is nothing I
can do so far, because a lot of files seem to be missing (see terminal output
below).
Example: I checked the first one:
trying to find: /usr/share/android/emulator/out/host/linux-x86/bin/bios.bin
This subdirectory /bin/ does contain files like emulator, emulator-x86 and
others, but there is no bios.bin here. I found bios.bin in
/usr/share/android/emulator/out/host/linux-x86/usr/share/pc-bios instead.
Is this normal?

Output terminal 25 juli 2014

As the greatest contributor to the Dutch translation of ubuntu-docs, I think it
strange that my name is not mentioned at the bottom of the LP-pages
(Contributors to this translation:) or in message #2, translator-credits,
which cannot be edited. My name does appear under the individual messages, e.g.
Translated and reviewed by Hannie Dumoleyn on 2011-09-01. I do not have this
problem in the Precise version of ubuntu-docs.

[Bug 916510] [NEW] typos in ubuntu-docs Precise Pangolin version

2012-01-14 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
Public bug reported:

In https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/ubuntu-
docs/+pots/ubuntu-help/nl/+translate I still encounter typos, e.g. abode
instead of adobe, that have been fixed in lp:ubuntu-docs. I am afraid
that translations will be lost as soon as the English strings are
replaced by the ones with the corrections. Although there is not a
string freeze yet, it is advisable to start translating as soon as
possible because it is a big document. I have already reported this on
the ubuntu-docs list in December, but never received an answer.

[Bug 799161] [NEW] Spelling control English instead of Dutch

2011-06-18 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

Since my installation of Firefox 5.0 I get English spelling control instead of
Dutch. I have checked Preferences Check spelling while typing (Mijn spelling
controleren tijdens het typen), and in Contents Languages Choose...I see
Nederlands(nl), Engels/Verenigde Staten [en-us], Engels [en]. This is the order
as configurated in Natty. In Add-on manager Languages (Talen) I see:
Nederlands (NL) Language 5.0 pack Door Mozilla-NL. Last update 2011-06-09.
This is all I could find on choosing a language, so I assume it is a bug. In

[Bug 799161] Re: Spelling control English instead of Dutch

2011-06-18 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
I'm sorry I sent in this bug, which wasn't a bug. It appeared I could change
the language by right clicking and choosing Language Dutch. Initially, after
consulting the Help pages of Firefox, I tried to find the solution in
Preferences. There I found nothing, but after right clicking a word with
English spelling control the context menu gave me the possibility to change the
language for spelling control to Dutch.
I have marked this bug Invalid, so you can remove it.

[Bug 710209] Re: Unity: search %s

2011-01-31 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
Thank you for your answer, Mark. Especially when variables are used, it
would be helpful for translators to get some more information. e.g. See
%u more results, which is also a bit cryptic.

2011-01-31 Thread Hannie Dumoleyn
Marco,
Forgive me if this is not the right place to ask for more information on the
use of variables. I am very grateful that Mark has answered them. You can mark
this bug as Solved, or perhaps simply remove this bug. I will try to find out
where I must ask authors to give us more information when variables are used.
