[Bug 496093] Re: [lucid] rt2860 frequently fails to connect to mixed mode WPA/WPA2 secured wireless networks

2010-04-28 Thread HaroldAling
I've updated my EEE 1000H to Lucid yesterday and I can confirm that my
RT2860 doesn't work. WICD doesn't even show the available networks.
Fortunately I was able to boot an old Karmic image so that I can access
the Internet again to discover this is a known and major problem with
Lucid. I guess users with a fresh install aren't that lucky...

This is of course unacceptable and really blemishes the reputation of
Ubuntu/Linux.

Unfortunately, Ricardo's kernel didn't fix my connection problem, so I
have to boot 2.6.31-20-generic every time.

@Dries:

It's really strange: when I boot the Karmic kernel everything just
works. When using the Lucid kernel, I have to bring the wlan0 up with
ifconfig wlan0 up (ra0 in the old kernel) but Wicd never finds an
available network. iwlist wlan0 scanning however shows all available
networks just fine.

[Bug 139463] Lots of bugfixes in 1.2.3 (incl. fetching album art)

2007-09-13 Thread HaroldAling
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sonata

With the upcoming release of Gutsy in mind, I think it's a big gain to
include sonata 1.2.3 instead of 1.2.1.

Changelog since 1.2.1

August 23, 2007 (Version 1.2.3):

* Incorporate disc tag in album sorting (Emmanuel Viaud)
* Significantly reduced wakeups/sec according to powertop
* Add stream name as a formatting option
* Added Italian translation (Gianni Vialetto)
* Added Swedish translation (Daniel Nylander)
* Added Dutch translation (Olivier)
* Bug: Stupid parsing of amazon URLs, reduced success of cover art fetching
* Bug: Default cover remains after refetching when not using ~/.covers
* Bug: Czech translation incorrectly labeled Swedish
* Bug: Song played after a replace is first in list, even in shuffle mode
* Bug: Collapsed view doesn't work properly in some WMs (e.g. Fluxbox)
* Bug: Display 'update library' menu item even when library is empty

July 22, 2007 (Version 1.2.2):

* Bug: Fix artwork fetching (Amazon gzip'ed xml returns garbage)
* Bug: Prevent connection error if the interface hasn't yet been run
* Bug: Prevent possibility of deleting image file when choosing local art
file
* Bug: Don't load gnome-settings-daemon if it's not running (kinote)

[Bug 56837] Re: Install fails because of syntax error

2006-08-23 Thread HaroldAling
This is fixed in edgy and it looks like my upload to dapper-updates
directly got to /dev/null.

Any chance this is uploaded to dapper-updates anytime soon? I'm
migrating a new server to ubuntu and this blocks the retirement of my
old one...

ubuntu-server dapper

tnx!

http://www.gnome.org/projects/dia/news.html

2006-04-21: New release 0.95 ready!
Dia is now available in a new version 0.95. This release focuses on stability
and ease of use, featuring a few major new features along with a host of minor
improvements and bugfixes that make it easier than ever to create structured
diagrams, models and illustrations for documentation, articles, modeling,
presentations and many other uses.

Version 0.95 adds the following major features:

* New mainpoint system allows lines to be added by dragging from anywhere
on one object to anywhere on another, and to always point towards the middle of
an object even when that object is moved.
* Python plug-ins added to create DOT output, generate Python bindings by
'self reflection', and allow round-trip engineering plug-ins.
* The grid can now automatically change size depending on your zoom level.
* Text input now highlights the object that receives the input, and tabbing
between text input areas on one or more objects is possible.
* Several security problems fixed in XFig import and Python plug-in.
* Many new shapes added, including automata, Gane Sarson and AADL.
* Several new UML objects added as well as some extensions to existing
objects.
* Full screen mode.
* Improved SVG import,
* Plug-in loading and unloading doesn't require restart of Dia.
* Many i18n problems have been fixed, particularly in export filters.
* Many bugs have been fixed, too many to mention here.
* Command line usage has improved to allow the selecting of individual
layers and specific output filters.
* Uses the new GTK+ File Dialog.
* Experimental libgnomeprint and Cairo plug-ins.

** Affects: dia (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed
