[Bug 220443] Re: Window decoration disappears with firefox

2008-09-14 Thread HeelsFan
It seems like this issue may be directly related to the Nvidia drivers
and Compiz. The following thread describes potential solutions to the
issue:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=835009

I used this solution and it seems to be working for me:

The following option is necessary to make window borders visible with
nvidia driver versions prior to 100.xx.:

gksudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Add -- Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True" -- under the section where you
find your graphic card.

[Bug 220443] Re: Window decoration disappears with firefox

2008-09-13 Thread HeelsFan
I am also having the same issue with Firefox (Hardy) and Compiz. Firefox
takes over the entire window. It covers both the top and bottom Ubuntu
launch bars. I also don't have a Firefox title bar. As Firefox is one of
the main programs I use, I can't use Compiz at all.

I'm on an R31 as well and confirm the issue with the trackpoint movement
and clicks.

[Bug 110072] Slow Wireless with Encrypted Network on Thinkpad R31

2007-04-25 Thread HeelsFan
Public bug reported:

I have an IBM Thinkpad R31 currently running Feisty and experience slow
wireless speeds when connected to my encrypted network. I had the same
experience while running Edgy as well.

Essentially, it is only when encrypted that the wireless is slow. When
I connect to open networks I have decent speeds; however, on encrypted
wireless, webpages load over the course of 5-10 minutes. I have tried
two separate wireless cards with the same results. It is not my network
as with the same settings my WinXP laptop works perfectly with the
encrypted wireless network.

** Affects: Ubuntu
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Unconfirmed
