[Bug 2069048] Re: gnome-shell crash (signal 11)
Hi there, thanks for your reply. In the meantime I found this bug report https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/7587 and this https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/3372 which address the issue. For now I downloaded the new mutter packages from http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ubuntu/pool/main/m/mutter/ All deb-files with '46.1-2ubuntu1' on this page and installed them with 'dpkg -i...'. This solves the problem and so far no other side effects. It would be good, if these packages are updated in noble (24.04) soon. ** Bug watch added: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues #7587 https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/7587 ** Bug watch added: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues #3372 https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/3372 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2069048 Title: gnome-shell crash (signal 11) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2069048/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1931765] Re: VAAPI broken on Wayland Kubuntu 21.04 (Plasma 5.22.0 + Weston)
At first i did not know that the problem was caused by the ppa. However i think that the MESA drivers should always be upgraded to the latest stable version. Ubuntu should handle the MESA packages like firefox. Ubuntu is the only officialy supported linuxdistribution supported by Steam for gaming and runs on outdated gpudrivers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1931765 Title: VAAPI broken on Wayland Kubuntu 21.04 (Plasma 5.22.0 + Weston) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libva/+bug/1931765/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1931765] Re: VAAPI broken on Wayland Kubuntu 21.04 (Plasma 5.22.0 + Weston)
Yes it works with the MESA packages from the ubunturepos. The problem occurs after adding the kisak mesa fresh ppa and upgrading to the latest stable MESA release. It only happens when Wayland is used. I always use this otherwise great ppa to keep my MESA drivers up to date. [Bug 1760818] Re: gedit and gnome-calculator transparency/graphics corruption issue when GTK_IM_MODULE=xim is set
I'm wondering why this has not been fixed after such a long time. It can at least be improved easily. If the Adwaita theme works (which it does in may case, too), then it is (at least partly) a theme issue. In fact, some defaults seem to be missing in the Ambiance and Radiance themes: By setting a default for the text background color in the following file, most problems (gnome-calculator, gedit) are resolved for me: /usr/share/themes/Ambiance/gtk-3.20/gtk.css: textview text { background-color: white; } @import url("gtk-main.css"); However: * Some problems remain., e.g. emacs scrollbar background color broken, too. The following solves that partly, too, but not completely: scrollbar { background-color: white; } * If you change such system files, they will get reset with some later system updates. (dpkg-divert can help to prevent such resetting/updating of files) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1760818 Title: gedit and gnome-calculator transparency/graphics corruption issue when GTK_IM_MODULE=xim is set To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+3.0/+bug/1760818/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1798322] Re: Failed to install grub on a fresh install with custom partition selection
It seems to be a secure boot / UEFI issue. Retrying with the same bootentry and a minimal install also failed. I briefly saw something about grub not being able to write somewhere in the install console. Unfortunately I am not able to copy the text here, because the error message box of the installer went above that. It would be nice if one could investigate the output of the installer a bit more. It seems it is not attached automatically here. Also after closing that message box the installer console immediately dissapears, not very helpful to produce a proper report. [Bug 1707906] Re: [needs-packaging] Package CQRLOG currently broken (Ubuntu 16.04 xenial)
I can confirm this. Get the same error. After start of cqrlog there is a messagebox: "Error during connection to database: TMySQL56Connection can not work with the installed MySQL client version: Expected (5.6), got (5.7.19)." Its not a crash but the application does not open after that. [Bug 1301225] Re: Parts of Text disappear in Firefox and Thunderbird Editors /Text Areas
I just noticed that sometimes the text is not simply blanked out, but replaced with graphics from elsewhere in the FF window. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1301225 Title: Parts of Text disappear in Firefox and Thunderbird Editors /Text Areas To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1301225/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1301225] [NEW] Parts of Text disappear in Firefox and Thunderbird Editors /Text Areas
Public bug reported: System info: Firefox 28 Thunderbird 24.4.0 Ubuntu 13.10 64 bit When I edit text in Firefox or Thunderbird, parts of this text (usually entire rows above the cursor) seem to disappear while I type. This happens e.g. when I edit an email message inThunderbird, or edit a Jira comment or a Wikipedia page in Firefox. Sometimes the 'opposite' happens, i.e. a row is copied, so it is shown twice. The text is not really gone; I can restore it by selecting it (e.g. with Ctrl-a). I.e. only the text display is affected. The behavior is not quite reproducible. It does happen frequently, but I can't reproduce it exactly by typing the same text again. I had never observed this behavior before the latest Firefox upgrade. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1301225 Title: Parts of Text disappear in Firefox and Thunderbird Editors /Text Areas To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1301225/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
