[Bug 1071101] Re: nearly every other boot I get "Low Graphics Mode" message.

2012-11-24 Thread Henrik Sölver
Replaced lightdm with gdm and have now restarted the computer about 10
times without any "low graphic mode" problem. It seems to be a lightdm
issue more than a X.org one.

[Bug 1071101] Re: nearly every other boot I get "Low Graphics Mode" message.

2012-11-24 Thread Henrik Sölver
Same issue with a Intel sandy bridge system. But the problem started to show up
around a week ago, probably after some update. before that 12.10 worked fine.
The trick suggested here
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/995397 (restarting
lightdm) will get it running again.
The Xorg log (complete log attached):
Fatal server error:

[Bug 805586] Re: i915 Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung

2011-12-15 Thread Henrik Sölver
After I have installed Intel drivers from this ppa:glasen/intel-driver
(https://launchpad.net/~glasen/+archive/intel-driver) I can not trigger
this bug anymore. Before it always happened after a few minutes running
a webgl demo in chromium browser. E.g. http://dl-
developer.sonyericsson.com/demo/webgl/blog/webgl_materials_normalmap.html
or

I can do that, but I want to try out 3.0.4-generic first. Hopefully I will
be able to do that tonight (CET).

[Bug 836480] Re: CPU fan runs very very fast ubuntu 11.10 dell xpsl702x

2011-10-17 Thread Henrik Sölver
I made a fresh install of 11.10 since I had all kinds of problems since
the upgrade. But the fan issue still existed, I tried the
"3.1.0-0301rc9-generic" kernel and the fan runs as normal again. I also
found out that it is not sufficient to just reboot from 3.0.0 to 3.1.0
to calm down the fan, a power cycle seems to be needed.
