[Bug 1628247] Re: yakkety 1.8.2+nmu1ubuntu1 does not install due to changed chrome keys
Small correction: For me this issue was present for 1.8.2ubuntu1 which is what yakkety yak currently ships. OP reports the issue for the version that is currently in pre-release. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1628247 Title: yakkety 1.8.2+nmu1ubuntu1 does not install due to changed chrome keys To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pepperflashplugin-nonfree/+bug/1628247/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1628247] Re: yakkety 1.8.2+nmu1ubuntu1 does not install due to changed chrome keys
Issue confirmed for Yakkety Yak beta. The debian changelog lists the bug as fixed for 1.8.2-nmu1, which is weird since this is the same version that ubuntu currently uses. As for the ubuntu changes, change #2 is needed, change #1 sounds like it is needed, and I have no idea about change #3, but it sounds like it disables legacy HAL which could affect DRM (digital rights management). Suggest keeping it for now, to avoid introducing any regressions. The packaging also intermixes debian and ubuntu changes which is a hassle for maintainers, it would be better if the ubuntu changes were kept separate, making it clear what has changed. You can do this by changing debian/source/format away from native to allow the source package to have a diff. Please fix.

[Bug 1015068] Re: Bastion has lags
Your CPU seems ok-ish, however I noticed you have the same GPU I had before - the Intel 965GM. I beleive that is the reason for your lag problems. Some games have expectations of GPU capabilities and Mesa or the game itself might try to emulate missing features resulting in a laggy experience. I'm not sure but I think the GPU you have doesn't do shading, transform and lighting which well... games kind of expect these days along with OpenGL 3 conformance which your GPU doesn't provide. I can't do a differential since my old lenovo died. it was on that computer i experienced the problem. it had an old gma 965 mobile (?) intel chipset which supported at most opengl 2.1 and had no transform&lighting capabilities it seemed. right now i'm on a lenovo edge e530 with a intel ivy bridge chipset. what i can say is that i do not experience problems with flash on my current computer, but if that is due to higher performance or better hardware capabilities that's hard to say. there might still be a performance regression without it being noticeable to the naked eye. you will have to run cpu utilization tests to confirm. specs for new box: OpenGL vendor string: Intel Open Source Technology Center OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Ivybridge Mobile OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 9.0 OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30 flash plugin at the moment: Architecture: amd64 Version: 11.2.202.262-0quantal1 old versions of flash player can be obtained here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1017153 Title: Regression in flash plugin >= 11.2.x To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flashplugin-nonfree/+bug/1017153/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1017153] [NEW] Regression in flash plugin >= 11.2.x
Public bug reported: I experience choppy video and audio in the flash player shipped with ubuntu precise (11.2.202.236ubuntu0). I am using the 64-bit version of the plugin. I investigated this further by downloading and installing older builds of the flash plugin and installed them manually. I found that the problem persisted across all the 11.2.x builds, however downgrading to 11.1.102.63 remedied the issue and video playback using this plugin results in smooth audio and video. Please note that this happens regardless of quality setting. For this reason I conclude it is a regression introduced in 11.2. You might want to enable users to downgrade to this version easier.
