[Bug 95481] Re: Incorrect rendering in Konqueror metabar

2009-01-02 Thread Hernan Giovagnoli
I've fixed on my PC it when I used Kubuntu, but unfortunately I'm not a
MOTU, and I don't have the knowledge to pack an update (don't know if I
can, either).

Thanks anyway.

[Bug 95481] Re: Incorrect rendering in Konqueror metabar

2009-01-02 Thread Hernan Giovagnoli
Well, but as far as I know Kubuntu 8.04 uses KDE3 as default desktop
environment. And its core packages will be supported until April 2011,
so some people may use it up to that date.

I think fixing the packages [0] would have taken the same time it took
replying to this report and marking the bug as "don't fix".

Also, I've assigned this bug to kubuntu-default-settings package, as it
is not a kdebase problem.

[Bug 95481] Re: Incorrect rendering in Konqueror metabar

2008-05-11 Thread Hernan Giovagnoli
I have the exact same problem, and suppose all Konqueror user have.

What's more, I've found the solution. After several minutes, It was only
a line in the file cited below. Search for the element (it already
exists) and add the property (as root).

/usr/share/kubuntu-default-settings/kde-
profile/default/share/apps/metabar/themes/kubuntu/default.css

li ul {
  white-space: nowrap;
}

Also, I think it should be released a patch with this correction, as it
is (very) simple and much effective.

[Bug 197387] Re: frostwire fails to load hardy heron

2008-04-19 Thread Hernan Giovagnoli
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 86103 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/86103

I had the same problem on Kubuntu Hardy, from a Gutsy dist-upgrade.

I managed to find out that Sun Java was working well. The problem was
that OpenJDK Java seems to be incompatible with Frostwire, and Hardy
selects it by default as JRE.

I solved selecting Sun Java with the following command:
# update-alternatives --config java

[Bug 161945] Re: Ubuntu doesn't reboot

2008-03-21 Thread Hernan Giovagnoli
Well, I have just checked if the bug was still active. I first upgraded
Ubuntu with the latest 'stable' packages, then shutted down (in order to
solve any file-write problem) and powered on.

At first, restarting I soon as I had Gnome loaded completely, made the
things work. I mean, I was happy to see the screen all black. I thought
about marking the bug as solved, but I wanted to be certain. I logged in
again, and did some 'usual tasks' emulating the average user. I opened
Firefox, Nautilus and OpenOffice.org. After closing them I restarted
again. And Ubuntu hanged in the same point as before.

Status: active.

[Bug 202189] Re: debian-builder tried to remove the whole system

2008-03-14 Thread Hernan Giovagnoli
** Description changed:

The exact command I executed was "debian-builder --help". In fact, I
cancelled the process as soon as I realised what was going on. The
command showed me several packages names (I suppose all installed on my
PC) and started to remove (also conffiles) all of them alphabetically. I
stopped it with Ctrl+C, then had to configure all of them and finally
install those which had been purged.

I had no real consequences (after all), but I don't know what the
command tried to do. Also, I was just looking how to use the package,
  since I didn't know it.

- Later I will include the exact package version, as I am now at work. I
- have Kubuntu 7.10 up to date.
+ The package version is 1.6 on i386 architecture. I have Kubuntu 7.10 up

[Bug 161945] Re: Ubuntu doesn't reboot

2007-11-28 Thread Hernan Giovagnoli
No, I didn't upgrade. I made a clean installation of Gutsy. I erased
even the ext3 and swap partitions, and let Ubuntu create them. And no
(also), Ubuntu doesn't reboot even using the console. The only
difference using it were the lines I posted above (it showed them).

I attach my syslog.0, because syslog has only 3 or 4 lines, with nothing
relevant.

+ the orange progress bar, and does nothing unless I press the reboot

This is because I had Debian 4.0r1 previously installed, and had the
same problem, but not sure if were the same reasons. On the other hand,
the 'Apagar' (Shut down) button works correctly.

Then I tried rebooting from the console, but with the same effect.
Except that in this occasion, I was able to see some console lines,
which allowed me to see the cause. What they said:
