[Bug 315246] Re: vlc not giving correct output on .vob files

2009-06-19 Thread Hew McLachlan
There have been a large number of bugfixes with the latest VLC release,
1.0.0~rc2-1ubuntu1. Can you reproduce your issue with this latest
version? You can test this in Ubuntu Karmic, or Ubuntu Jaunty with the
MOTU Media PPA at https://launchpad.net/~motumedia/+archive/ppa . Thanks
in advance.

[Bug 329524] Re: musictracker with rhythmbox doesn't show current song

2009-06-18 Thread Hew McLachlan
The reporter sent me this email:

this is right, I upgrade my system to Intrepid and the problem disappeared
Furthermore, recently my friends tell me never have seen my profile picture.
though the latter should be announced in another report if I am not mistaken.

Thanks for your response. Closing as the problem does not occur with
recent Ubuntu releases.

As for your display picture problem, please first try a newer version of
Pidgin such as the one in Jaunty, or in Hardy Backports. If you still
have problems, you may wish to ask a question at
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin , or file a bug
report on the issue.

For future reference, you should reply to bugs either using the
Launchpad page, or via email to the launchpad.net address.

It built for me locally, and to make sure of this I also built it in my
PPA. You can see the build log:

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/27933491/buildlog_ubuntu-
karmic-i386.revelation_0.4.11-4ubuntu2~hew1_FULLYBUILT.txt.gz

Note the patch applies correctly now:

applying patch 90_applet_crash to ./ ... ok.

If it's not working for you, could you let me know where the problem
lies (include the build log if possible) so I can look into it further?
Thanks!

* Better DHT announce management
* Fix error in reporting webseed counts via RPC
* Better file preallocation on embedded systems

GTK+
* Fix 1.70 crash when setting options in the Properties dialog (LP:

* Fix a rare crash in desktop notifications (LP: #334104)
* Can now sort the file list by priority, download, and completeness (LP:
#300359)

Ideally we should wait for Debian to package this so we can merge.

Thanks to charles for his continued work on this great application,
especially the help given to the Ubuntu community!

[Bug 355854] Re: Please upgrade to nexuiz 2.5.1

2009-06-16 Thread Hew McLachlan
DebianImportFreeze is not relevant here, and it is not in Debian yet
anyway. Practically nothing has happened about packaging this in Debian
for the past few months, so there is no immediate rush. FeatureFreeze
(August 27) is a more relevant milestone.

The Nexuiz community has simply got used to the fact that the
Debian/Ubuntu repositories never carry the latest version, so they
recommend their all-in-one zip file.

[Bug 384215] Re: Please merge transmission 1.71-1 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

2009-06-15 Thread Hew McLachlan
There's no point holding off for work on yet another Transmission
release, otherwise we'll end up in the same situation with 1.73 ;-).
1.71 is a big improvement over 1.61 which is currently in the archive,
so it's still ready to upload.

As for the 1.72 upgrade my preference is to wait for Debian so we can
merge. If this happens before 1.71 gets uploaded I'm happy to redo the
merge debdiff.

[Bug 386868] [NEW] xchat-gnome doesn't remember maximised state

2009-06-13 Thread Hew McLachlan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xchat-gnome

Every time I start xchat-gnome, it is not maximised, even though I
maximise the window every time I start the application. While it appears
as a window that fills the whole screen, it is still in the windowed
state, and not properly maximised.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start xchat-gnome.
2. Maximise the window.
3. Close xchat-gnome.
4. Start xchat-gnome.

What should happen:
xchat-gnome should be maximised.

What actually happens:

[Bug 384314] [NEW] synaptic lists packages as auto removable when they shouldn't be

2009-06-06 Thread Hew McLachlan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: synaptic

Synaptic sometimes lists packages as auto removable when they shouldn't
be.

Steps to reproduce:
0) Make sure you are viewing the Status sidebar in Synaptic
1) Mark a package with dependent packages for removal (eg. synaptic).
2) When prompted that you would have to remove dependant packages as well,
press cancel.
3) Select the Installed (auto removable) option in the Status sidebar.

What should happen:
None of those packages should be listed as auto removable.

What actually happens:
Some/all of those packages are listed as auto removable. If you select a
different view and go back to Installed (auto removable), the packages will
no longer be listed.

Ubuntu Karmic, synaptic 0.62.5ubuntu3

[Bug 375927] Re: nautilus crashes when clicking on empty toolbar space

2009-06-05 Thread Hew McLachlan
It should be fixed with 2.27.2, but Karmic still has 2.27.1. Problems
such as this are to be expected when using the development version of
Ubuntu.

[Bug 382345] Re: rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp()

2009-06-02 Thread Hew McLachlan
The rhythmbox and system master volumes seemed to be linked before;
adjusting one would often adjust the other. Using rhythmbox
0.12.2-0ubuntu1 it appears this behaviour no longer occurs, so I believe
it's unlikely this crash will occur again. If it does I will reopen this
report.

[Bug 372687] Re: Rhythmbox takes 420MB of RAM for playing jamendo

2009-06-02 Thread Hew McLachlan
The changelog for rhythmbox 0.12.1 contains Greatly reduced memory
usage when accessing Jamendo catalog. Does using this version (or later
version) solve the problem?
