[Bug 124437] Re: Format profile active but not choosable in drop down list

2007-09-13 Thread HolgerS
OK, did it like Max-Ulrich Faber already said on 2007-08-01 and it
worked:

* Open Synaptic
* Install packages 'gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse' and 'lame'
* Enjoy! ;)

2007-09-13 Thread HolgerS
Meadow, could you please describe what you did in detail to get it
working? Would be nice if I could use mp3 with Sound-Juicer also.

[Bug 115705] Re: [fglrx] openoffice crashes on startup

2007-08-27 Thread HolgerS
Try to install latest drivers available from ATI. That solved it for me.
A good step-by-step description how to do so is located at ubuntu.com
(direct link: http://tinyurl.com/39kpsy). I had the same problems with
my PCI-e X600: Starting eg. OO just showed me the splash screen for half
a second and then it just closed /wo any error-msg. Now with my
'selfmade' fglrx drivers everything runs just fine. It's really worth
taking some minutes to compile your own *.deb's ;)

Error message when starting 'oowriter' from terminal was 'Unknown error
forking main binary', strace revealed a 'SIGFPE (Floating point
exception) @ 0 (0) ---'.

[Bug 84007] Re: Cannot edit audio profiles without closing the list

2007-07-13 Thread HolgerS
Why this bug isn't fixed with an automatic patch downloaded by the
automatic updating process? I don't want to spent the whole weekend
exercising on 'debdiff' or other strange things.

Additionally I have the problem described here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124437

For me actually converting an audio CD to mp3 isn't possible without
Windows (tm). Sad thing!

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-media

When choosing 'preferences' trying to select MP3 as the output format it
is not present in the list. When hitting 'edit profiles' it is present
and marked 'active'. What can be done to be able to select it?

** Affects: gnome-media (Ubuntu)

I still experience the problem running ubuntu 704 with all patches
installed. What do I have to do exactly to get rid of this annoying
behaviour?
