[Bug 282939] Re: gnusound crash in Intrepid Ibex Beta

2009-03-03 Thread HolgiT
The problem also exists in Jaunty, and it seems not to depend on the
graphic: I encounter the crash on a vmware guest, no ATI driver.

[Bug 316721] [NEW] Reboot from update-notifier does not work in Jaunty

2009-01-13 Thread HolgiT
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-notifier

After an update update-notifier correctly shows the icon "Reboot
required", but does not reboot if I choose to do so. Message in
.xsession-errors says:

** (update-notifier:3430): CRITICAL **: request_reboot: assertion
`client != NULL' failed

[Bug 316705] [NEW] X does not start in VMWare with xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse installed

2009-01-13 Thread HolgiT
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse

X refuses to start in Jaunty on a vmware guest if xserver-xorg-input-
vmmouse (which comes with open-vm-toolbox) is installed. Just leaves me
with a black screen. Messages in /var/log/gdm/:0.log include:

/usr/bin/X: symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/input//vmmouse_drv.so: undefined symbol:
xf86OSMouseInit

waiting for X server to begin accepting connections
giving up.
xinit: Connection reset by peer (errno 104): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
3799 2933

Uninstalling xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse works around the problem, but
this removes all vmware-tools too.

[Bug 302035] Re: Rhythmbox stores new UFID and set of Musicbrainz-TXXX fields on every tag update

2008-11-26 Thread HolgiT
EyeD3 cannot read the tags anymore, complains
Multiple UFID frames not allowed with the same owner ID (http://musicbrainz.org)
No ID3 v1.x/v2.x tag found!
Which is perfectly right, all Musicbrainz-Fields have been duplicated.

[Bug 302035] Re: Rhythmbox stores new UFID and set of Musicbrainz-TXXX fields on every tag update

2008-11-26 Thread HolgiT
Rhythmbox 0.11.6 on Intrepid Ibex. Steps to reproduce are in my original
report under the title "Steps to reproduce": Edit tags in Rhythmbox and
you will run into the problem. For the attached test files I only
changed the title from "Technical Test" to "Technical Tesa" and back.
After the first editing I had a whole bunch of new emtpy Musicbrainz-
related fields in my file:

Unique File ID: [http://musicbrainz.org]

UserTextFrame: [Description: MusicBrainz Artist Id]

UserTextFrame: [Description: musicbrainz_artistid]

UserTextFrame: [Description: MusicBrainz Album Id]

UserTextFrame: [Description: musicbrainz_albumid]

UserTextFrame: [Description: MusicBrainz Album Artist Id]

UserTextFrame: [Description: musicbrainz_albumartistid]

... and after the second editing these fields obviously have been
duplicated.

[Bug 302035] [NEW] Rhythmbox stores new UFID and set of Musicbrainz-TXXX fields on every tag update

2008-11-25 Thread HolgiT
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

... which leads to multiple sets of these fields after numerous updates.

Steps to reproduce:
Edit ID3 tags of a fresh mp3-file once in Rhythmbox => UFID field
"http://musicbrainz.org"; and some TXXX-fields for MusicBrainz are automatically
created (viewed with eyeD3):

Unique File ID: [http://musicbrainz.org]
UserTextFrame: [Description: MusicBrainz Artist Id]
UserTextFrame: [Description: musicbrainz_artistid]
UserTextFrame: [Description: MusicBrainz Album Id]
UserTextFrame: [Description: musicbrainz_albumid]
UserTextFrame: [Description: MusicBrainz Album Artist Id]
UserTextFrame: [Description: musicbrainz_albumartistid]

Now re-edit tags on the same file and eyeD3 will complain:

Multiple UFID frames not allowed with the same owner ID
(http://musicbrainz.org)

When I view the file with a hex editor I can see that all the UFID- and
TXXX-tags have been duplicated.
Shouldn't they rather be updated instead?

[Bug 271755] Re: variable rate mp3 have wrong length

Problem persists, but a workaround exists: Rhythmbox takes into account
the TLEN information in the ID3v2 tags if present.

[Bug 228721] Re: [Hardy] Searching youtube videos runs 100% cpu forever.

2008-10-10 Thread HolgiT
I can still see the original problem. Totem's YouTube plugin can get
through the proxy when searching, but if I try to watch a video from the
list displayed it tries to connect to the internet directly regardless
of my proxy settings.

I can see this in netstat:

Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State
tcp0 1 192.168.91.128:44399208.65.153.238:80 SYN_SENT

This can never get through, and after a while I get:

Could not resolve stream MRL for YouTube video "tBNLTKQdNeE".

Seems like the plugin ignores the proxy settings when trying to play.
