[Bug 2073011] [NEW] Missing gir files on libgtkhex-4-dev

2024-07-12 Thread Hugo Parente Lima
Public bug reported:

GHex project has a gir file, so people can reuse the hex editor widget
in other programs in different languages.

There's a libgtkhex-4-dev package but the gir and typelib files are not
there.

On Archlinux they are installed on:

$ yay -Ql ghex | grep gir
ghex /usr/lib/girepository-1.0/
ghex /usr/lib/girepository-1.0/Hex-4.typelib
ghex /usr/share/gir-1.0/
ghex /usr/share/gir-1.0/Hex-4.gir

[Bug 2065528] [NEW] Ubuntu 24.04 LTS: Unreadable text in search bar in App Center with accessibility option "High Contrast"

2024-05-12 Thread Hugo Andres Amaya Chairez
Public bug reported:

New installation of Ubuntu 24.04 LTS: When I activated the "High
Contrast" accessibility option and opened the App Center, I noticed that
the text in the search bar was not adequately visible. The color of the
search bar background is very similar to the text color, making it
illegible.

[Bug 2057772] [NEW] [Needs packaging] Add facial recognition support with IR camera

2024-03-13 Thread Hugo Squelch
Public bug reported:

I believe adding better biometric authentication support would be
extremely useful and could help people move to Linux from Windows.

Adding support for facial recognition with IR cameras on login or any
other point of authentication (e.g. sudo or gui authentication) would
save time and make the move from Windows to Linux easier, as people
don't want to have to give up a feature of the laptop just to use
Ubuntu.

[Bug 1958267] Re: wpa can't connect to servers using TLS 1.1 or older

I updated to wpasupplicant 2:2.10-6, and I was able to undo the
modifications from #22 and still connect normally using PEAP and
MSCHAPv2 authentication, confirmed by restarting wpasupplicant service

[Bug 1958267] Re: "Connection failed" for WPA Enterprise network (e.g. eduroam)

2022-04-26 Thread Victor Hugo Schulz
I was also affected by this issue when updating from 21.10 to 22.04, not on
eduroam but on my university's network.
Workaround from post #22 worked for me, but I simply modified the original file
(/etc/ssl/openssl.cnf).
After reading other comments, I got confused. Is this a bug on Ubuntu's
wpasupplicant or a problem with the university's infrastructure using old
vulnerable authentication methods?
If the latter, how should I report it to university's sysadmin?

Re: [Bug 1703223] Re: Opening any app from launcher is always partially hidden behind desktop menu

2021-12-10 Thread Hugo
Thank you for checking this issue. After some updates it got fixed. No
significant problem so far.
Ubuntu rocks! It's getting better and better ...

The only problem I can mention is with Zoom. When opening the "White Board"
to share my screen, it will always crash. I assume it's a Zoom problem ...

Thanks for your hard work!

[Bug 1925985] Re: CVE-2021-22204

2021-06-11 Thread Hugo Buddelmeijer
Thanks Alex, Paulo and Gregor. Great to have this released!

And thanks for the learning opportunity. As in, my help probably didn't
actually save you any time in the short run, because the only thing I
effectively did was change the changelog of the upstream patch, and you
had to redo that anyway because I wasn't experienced enough. But next
time I'd know how to proceed.

About the versioning, I wasn't really sure, because
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/UpdatePreparation#Packaging says
0.1, but I did not recall ever seeing such a package version, and dch
automatically put 1 there. In retrospect I had all the information to
conclude it should have been 0.1 though.

Because I must say that the documentation is very well done. It was way
easier to figure everything out than expected. (I had never used dch,
debuild or debdiff before.) The full documentation is enormous, and the
SecurityTeam wiki pages distill it to the essential which is much
appreciated.

The links to 'debdiff' are broken though, and I do not know where to
report those, so I'll add them here: both
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SponsorshipProcess and
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/SponsorsQueue link to
https://packaging.ubuntu.com/html/traditional-
packaging.html#creating-a-debdiff , which does not exist.

[Bug 1925985] Re: CVE-2021-22204

2021-06-10 Thread Hugo Buddelmeijer
Following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/SponsorsQueue , I can now
subscribe ubuntu-security-sponsors :

1. Your patch is in debdiff format

It is.

2. The patch follows the security team update procedures. Especially:

- targeted against the security pocket of a stable release

I think so, but I'm not exactly sure what a "security pocket" is. This
is a patch against 20.04 LTS to fix an arbitrary code execution, so it
seems appropriate.

I've updated the patch to have 'focal-security' as distribution, as
described in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/UpdatePreparation#Packaging.

- uses the correct version

The version 11.88-1ubuntu1 is created by dch, so I'm assuming it is
correct. (Maybe it should be 11.88-1ubuntu0.1 ?)

- mentions a CVE, and preferably a LP bug #.

The diff mentions CVE-2021-22204 and (LP: #1925985), which is this bug.

- Check your .changes file to make sure that you have the right revision
and distribution

I've put 'focal-security' as distribution, which seemed the most
appropriate.

3. All changes in the patch are intentional

They are.

4. Your patch applies cleanly

It does.

5. The Status and Assignment are correct

I cannot change the status, but it seems OK.

6. Please comment on the testing performed.

I've tested the patched package with echo_vakzz.jpg from
https://hackerone.com/reports/1154542 on a development workstation. (So
not on a clean Ubuntu installation.)

- If all of the above is in order, please subscribe ubuntu-security-sponsors

OK.

[Bug 1925985] Re: CVE-2021-22204

2021-06-09 Thread Hugo Buddelmeijer
Attached is a debdiff that fixes CVE-2021-22204 on libimage-exiftool-
perl 11.88-1; dch automatically changed the version to 11.88-1ubuntu1.

I simply checked out https://salsa.debian.org/perl-team/modules/packages
/libimage-exiftool-perl/-/tree/debian/11.88-1 , cherry-picked
https://salsa.debian.org/perl-team/modules/packages/libimage-exiftool-
perl/-/commit/0347501fda93cb8366d6451aedcf258b34fb4a2b with the fix, and
based the changelog on https://salsa.debian.org/perl-
team/modules/packages/libimage-exiftool-
perl/-/commit/5f175b3bb7db706cf840d8ee0f292a64e0abfae2 .

The changes can be found in my forked project:
https://gitlab.com/hugobuddel/libimage-exiftool-perl/-/tree/hb/fix-
CVE-2021-22204

It works, and it is a rather simple patch. Yet this is the first time
I've ever build an Ubuntu package, so please check.

Also, I've added my name to the changelog, even though @gregoa Gregor
Herrmann did the actual work, which is credited in the changelog. I
don't care about getting credit for this, so feel free to change the
changelog.

There are also several other Ubuntu versions listed as "Needs triage" on
https://ubuntu.com/security/CVE-2021-22204 (21.04, 20.10, 18.04). I
don't have those running, so I cannot comment on those.

[Bug 1925985] Re: CVE-2021-22204

2021-06-09 Thread Hugo Buddelmeijer
Thank you Alex for your explanation. Below my conclusions after digging
around to learn more about how exiftool ends up in Ubuntu.

It seems that Ubuntu is using the debian version of libimage-exiftool-
perl as-is. Therefore it was probably easy to get the fix released for
Ubuntu 21.10 because it uses the same version of libimage-exiftool-perl
as debian testing and unstable (12.16); that is, the debian patch could
be used as-is.

However, backporting the patch specifically for Ubuntu 20.04 (LTS) seems
to be required, because Ubuntu 20.04 uses 11.88 and debian stable uses
11.16. Debian patched their 11.16, so maybe it is easy to apply that
patch to 11.88 as well.

I'm not really sure where that patch would need to go though. The debian
team would have no use for it in their repository, so might not want it
there. There is probably a mechanism to have Ubuntu specific patches on
top of the debian ones.

This patch procedure is probably described in the link you gave, so I'll
have to read that more carefully. Contributing to Ubuntu packages is new
to me, so I don't feel comfortable to commit to that yet, but I'm
inclined to give it a try (if time permits).

[Bug 1925985] Re: CVE-2021-22204

2021-06-08 Thread Hugo Buddelmeijer
The status of this bug says "Fix Released". How can one install this
released fix on Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS (Focal Fossa)?

The publicly available proof of concept arbitrary code execution on
hackerone [1] works as-is on the latest exiftool (11.88-1) in the focal
repositories. This makes it a security risk to run exiftool.

directly via the "Software & Updates -> Additional Driver" application
and via the packages (never NVIDIAs scripts). But these did not work.
But the following 2 steps seemed to get this doing:

1. Configure the use of the suspend and resume scripts shown here:
https://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/460.39/README/powermanagement.html

2. Use the "Software & Updates -> Additional Driver" application but use
the "NVIDIA Server Driver metapackage ... (proprietery)" and *not* the
"NVIDIA driver metapackage ... (proprietary, tested)"

Tests show both NVIDia profiles work now on resume.

It would be interresting to get feedback from others. If this in fact
does work, then one needs to know what is the diffference between the
above two options.

[Bug 1916805] [NEW] 18.04 to 20.04 upgrade failure

:

I have the same problem for months now. His question was not resolved.
Hope the bug is fixed because in April 2023, 18.04 will be obsolete.

[Bug 1900361] Re: attempting to install 20.04 LTS on older PC

2020-10-29 Thread Hugo Becerra
Thanks for looking into this bug guys. I'm not sure as to what was the
actual problem. The partitions were established during the install. It
said it would make 2 partitions in /dev/sda as /sda1=boot and /sda2=ext4
I believe. Since I couldn't fix the issue I did a clean install of
Ubuntu 20.10 instead. Problem solved I supposed. Thanks.

[Bug 1900361] [NEW] attempting to install 20.04 LTS on older PC

2020-10-18 Thread Hugo Becerra
Public bug reported:

Was merely going through the steps as usual to do a clean install of
Ubuntu 20.04 on an older PC when I encountered this error at the select
boot loader install stage and I tried doing another full erase/format
then reinstall but this time it generated the option to send this
trouble report. Seems to be an issue at the moment of formatting the
selected drive. It is currently plugged in via internal SATA
connections, it's a 280 GB SATA laptop drive. I'm thinking it may have
possible bad sectors perhaps??

[Bug 1898902] [NEW] (doc?) locale-gen disagrees with locale(5)

2020-10-07 Thread Hugo van der Sanden
Public bug reported:

The LC_NUMERIC section of locale(5) includes:

   decimal_point
followed by the string that will be used as the decimal delim-
  iter when formatting numeric quantities.

.. without constraint on what the string may include. However locale-gen
appears to reject any attempt to define decimal_point to a string longer than
one character, with the message:
LC_NUMERIC: value for field `decimal_point' must be a single character
[error] LC_NUMERIC: field `decimal_point' not defined

If that constraint is intended, I think locale(5) should specify it.
(There may be a similar issue for thousands_sep, I didn't test that.)

Found on bionic with locales-2.27-3ubuntu1.2, I did not check other
releases.

Motivation: I wanted to define a longer decimal_point so as to test the
robustness of an application's number formatting.

[Bug 1857624] Re: Option Protocol gp (Palo Alto GlobalProtect) missing on GUI

2020-01-23 Thread Hugo
In development branch, in Ubuntu 20.04, now it has version 1.2.4. I
think same as denilsonsa, it would be nice to update to 1.2.6 version.
Is There another way to request this?

[Bug 1855080] Re: Credentials API allows listing and retrieving of all users credentials

2019-12-09 Thread Gage Hugo
I wasn't able to recreate this with Rocky, only a user with the "admin"
role was able to list credentials, other users with member roles were
denied (as policy defined).

The code was indeed changed after Rocky to account for system scope,
where I believe that this issue was introduced.

Ah ok, I'll remove the apostrophe then.

Updated, please review:

Title: Credentials API allows non-admin to list and retrieve all users
credentials
Reporter: Daniel 'f0o' Preussker
Products: Keystone
Affects: ==15.0.0, ==16.0.0

Description:
Daniel 'f0o' Preussker reported a vulnerability in Keystone's list credentials
API. Any user with a role on a project is able to list any credentials with the
/v3/credentials API when enforce_scope is false. Users with a role on a project
are able to view any other users' credentials, which could leak sign-on
information for Time-based One Time Passwords (TOTP) or othewise. Deployments
running keystone with enforce_scope set to false are affected. There will be a
slight performance impact for the list credentials API once this issue is fixed.

[Bug 1838070] [NEW] Unable to add dyndbg to command line

2019-07-26 Thread Jeffrey Hugo
Public bug reported:

I'm running Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS
Version 2.02-2ubuntu8.13 of grub is installed.

When I update my grub.cfg to include dyndbg, such as:

linux /boot/vmlinuz-5.2.0+ root=UUID=e31d3503-30d5-4021-89ea-
0ac921ce153f ro console=ttyS0 ignore_loglevel dyndbg="module e1000"

the quotes are not handled properly.

The resulting kernel boot gets -

cat /proc/cmdline | more
BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-5.2.0+ root=UUID=e31d3503-30d5-4021-89ea-0ac921ce153f
ro console=ttyS0 ignore_loglevel "dyndbg=module e1000 +p"

As you can see, the first quote in the dyndbg param moved, thus
invalidating the command line, and resulting in dyndbg not taking
effect.

[Bug 1832922] Re: cannot use growisofs to write iso image

2019-06-15 Thread Hugo van der Sanden
For 'echo -n x"$IFS"x | od -c' I get:
000 x \t \n x
005

But based on your comments it seems quite likely I actually invoked it
as '/dev/sr0 image.iso'. It is common to treat such things the same
whether it's a single '='-separated argument to two separate arguments,
and my cursory reading of the code suggested it intended to treat them
the same. If the '=' is mandatory it is at certainly worth emphasising
that in the docs.

I'm reluctant to do stand-alone experiments for this since I have only a
few blank disks, but I'll aim to check this again when I have another
image to write.

[Bug 1832922] [NEW] cannot use growisofs to write iso image

2019-06-14 Thread Hugo van der Sanden
Public bug reported:

% lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS
Release:18.04
% apt-cache policy dvd+rw-tools
dvd+rw-tools:
  Installed: 7.1-12
  Candidate: 7.1-12
  Version table:
 *** 7.1-12 500
500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/universe amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
%

The man page says:
To use growisofs to write a pre-mastered ISO-image to a DVD:
  growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvd=image.iso

So having downloaded the iso image I wanted, I ran:
  growisofs -speed=1 -dvd-compat -Z /dev/sr0=ubuntu-16.04.6-desktop-amd64.iso
expecting this to create a bootable Xenial installation DVD.

Instead it created a DVD which was not bootable; mounting it showed a single
file "ubuntu_1.iso" clearly an 8.3-truncated version of the input filename.
Along the way it showed what it was doing:
  genisoimage ubuntu-16.04.6-desktop-amd64.iso | builtin_dd of=/dev/sr0 obs=32k
seek=0
.. so it looks like genisoimage is always getting called, and is creating a new
iso image with the supplied iso as a simple file inside it.

As a workaround, I found that replacing genisoimage with a symlink to
/bin/cat allowed me to use the same growisofs invocation to create the
bootable DVD I wanted.

Note: this is tagged as amd64, but it's a GenuineIntel processor. If
I've installed from the wrong image, that may be the problem right
there.

[Bug 1831686] [NEW] bionic install on new machine regularly crashing

2019-06-04 Thread Hugo van der Sanden
Public bug reported:

On this new machine, I'm getting regular arbitrary crashes usually
within a few hours of boot. Syslog from what I believe is an example is
below.

Most commonly, it crashes in a firefox tab running a flash game (ITRTG
from kongregate.com); the affected Web Content process then sits in a D
state and cannot be killed (even by sudo kill -9, though that does
change it to zombie state), while top continues to show it using 100% of
a CPU. At this point, strace cannot attach to it and 'ps -eaf' will
hang, as will exercises such as trying to cat /proc/$PID/cmdline. A hard
reboot is the only thing that clears it: 'shutdown -r' or '-h' do not
succeed.

I have also had the whole system freeze, including at the X login
screen; I have not yet found further examples of syslog reports from
such cases.

Let me know if there's other information I can usefully provide.

2019-04-04 Thread Gage Hugo
Updated impact statement draft. If any of this information is incorrect,
please feel free to correct and I will revise.

Title: Overlapping security group rules prevents compute node network
configuration
Reporter: Diko Parvanov (Canonical)
Products: Neutron
Affects: >=11.0.0 <11.0.7, >=12.0.0 <12.0.6, >=13.0.0 <13.0.3

Description: Diko Parvanov (Canonical) reported a vulnerability in
neutron-openvswitch-agent security group rules. By creating two security
groups with separate/overlapping port ranges, an authenticated user may
prevent neutron from being able to configure networks on any compute
nodes where those security groups are present. All neutron deployments
utilizing neutron-openvswitch-agent are affected.

2019-03-12 Thread Hugo Ferreira
An update. I have update 18.04.2 with the 4.18 kernel.
Still not working. Still have ACPI errors. Now I get
error messages for thew USB ports - "can't set config".

As far as the behavior goes - now the track pad works on boot
but ACPI wake will not work with the laptop's built-in
keyboard not with the track-pad. Same for external keyboard
and mouse.

[Bug 1813007] Re: Unable to install new flows on compute nodes when having broken security group rules

2019-02-28 Thread Gage Hugo
Since this was public for about a month prior to making private, it
doesn't seem worth keeping under embargo here. Getting this fixed
quickly is preferable and opening it up publicly would allow more eyes
on it and easier communication to help fix this.

** Description changed:

- This issue is being treated as a potential security risk under embargo.
- Please do not make any public mention of embargoed (private) security
- vulnerabilities before their coordinated publication by the OpenStack
- Vulnerability Management Team in the form of an official OpenStack
- Security Advisory. This includes discussion of the bug or associated
- fixes in public forums such as mailing lists, code review systems and
- bug trackers. Please also avoid private disclosure to other individuals
- not already approved for access to this information, and provide this
- same reminder to those who are made aware of the issue prior to
- publication. All discussion should remain confined to this private bug
- report, and any proposed fixes should be added to the bug as
- attachments.
-
It appears that we have found that neutron-openvswitch-agent appears to have
a bug where two security group rules that have two different port ranges that
overlap tied to the same parent security group will cause neutron to not be
able to configure networks on the compute nodes where those security groups are
present.
Those are the broken security rules:
https://pastebin.canonical.com/p/wSy8RSXt85/
Here is the log when we discovered the issue:
https://pastebin.canonical.com/p/wvFKjNWydr/

** Description changed:

  Some background information:
I have a new Ubuntu 18.04 installation that did not go too well.
The Live-USB installation would hang with ACPi related errors.
I finally installed (barring a GRUB install error) using the acpi=off kernel
flag.
I also tested with acpi=force and no acpi settings (only worked after the
last kernel update).
  I report here with
  - no changes in the kernel parameters
  - no changes in BIOS except of graphics set to hybrid (Nvidia + Intel)
otherwise I could not get it to work

I am following the indications here:
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingACPI

So here is the initial information I have (kernel version, kernel
  parameters, ACPI errors):

Some weird behavior I have noticed:

installing Ubuntu
. The current kernel does not allow me to use the touchpad
. After I resume, the touchpad can be used
. I cannot resume with the builtin At keyboard or touchpad
. The dock (via Thunderbolt) gives me access to a mouse and keyboard that I
use to resume
. I have related graphics driver issue but do not know if they are related

Is their anything else that is required to help solve these issues?

2018-11-28 Thread Hugo Ferreira
Public bug reported:

Some background information:
I have a new Ubuntu 18.04 installation that did not go too well.
The Live-USB installation would hang with ACPi related errors.
I finally installed (barring a GRUB install error) using the acpi=off kernel
flag.
I also tested with acpi=force and no acpi settings (only worked after the last
kernel update).
I report here with
- no changes in the kernel parameters
- no changes in BIOS except of graphics set to hybrid (Nvidia + Intel)
otherwise I could not get it to work

I am following the indications here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingACPI

So here is the initial information I have (kernel version, kernel
parameters, ACPI errors):

..

..

I have also added the following outputs:

sudo lspci -vvnn >> report.txt

sudo dmidecode > dmidecode.txt

The kern.log after a suspend and resume.

Some weird behavior I have noticed:

. The Live-USB pendrive allowed me to use the touchpad when testing and
installing Ubuntu
. The current kernel does not allow me to use the touchpad
. After I resume, the touchpad can be used
. I cannot resume with the builtin At keyboard or touchpad
. The dock (via Thunderbolt) gives me access to a mouse and keyboard that I use
to resume
. I have related graphics driver issue but do not know if they are related

Is their anything else that is required to help solve these issues?

TIA

[Bug 1403938] Re: Sound problem with firefox

2018-09-06 Thread Hugo Ferreira
@i-m-jens-3)

Try the following:

1. Open the Ubuntu "settings" (use the docker or search for it)
2. Go to the sound tab
3. Select an output device you want to test
4. Click the "test speakers"
5. If it is *not* working check if the sound applet in the top bar shows the
device muted
6. Un-mute it
7. Go to the browser and test a youtube video

Note that you may need to install gnome tweaks to have access to these setting
options (not sure).

[Bug 1785466] Re: Screen stuck at "A start job is running for detect the avaiable GPUs and deal any system change"

2018-08-10 Thread Hugo Delaunay
** Description changed:

  I have ASUS Laptop X53BR-SX013V with 2 GPU :

IGD : AMD Radeon HD 6320
DGD : AMD Radeon HD 7470M

Booting with "nomodeset" works but I have a bad resolution. If I remove
the "nomodeset" option (and "quiet splash"), I get stuck on :

A start job is running for detect the avaiable GPUs and deal any system
  change (0s / No limit)

I have this message for all versions from 14.04 (not included) to 18.04.

  I can wait 10, 20 or 50 min, and it still doesn't boot. I don't have a
log or anything else but if you want more information, feel free to ask
  it !
+
+ EDIT :
+
+ If it can help, I read on SO that the first graphic card is compatible
+ with radeon driver module, the second not.

2018-08-07 Thread Hugo Delaunay
Thanks for your response but please can you tell me how can I check what
is the responsible package ?

I've made some researches and found that the line "A start job is
running for detect the avaiable GPUs and deal any system change" is
being outputed by "gpu-manager.service". So the package may be "ubuntu-
drivers-common", isn't it ?

Re: [Bug 1770442] Re: Suspend does not connect network

2018-05-11 Thread Walter Hugo Ferraz
Thank you for your response Joseph

I can not install an upstream kernel, because I use proprietary modules
(Virtual Box, Nvidea), and I did not find any extra packages for the
version, and as it is a production machine I will not risk it.

Let's wait for the normal kernel update via distro repositories, I'm
very grateful for your attention.

[Bug 1558323] Re: Bleachbit root does not start in Kubuntu Trusty 14.04.4

2018-03-23 Thread Hugo Lefeuvre
Same as #1686504: I have just uploaded Bleachbit 2.0-2 to the Debian
archive, switching from su-to-root to policykit. Please try to
reproduce, but it should be fixed now.

[Bug 1741978] Re: Add support for ARM events

2018-02-27 Thread Jeffrey Hugo
Verification of the package in -proposed failed. Run with Linux ubuntu
4.14.14 #11 SMP Mon Feb 26 17:06:57 EST 2018 aarch64 aarch64 aarch64
GNU/Linux

>From our tester -

I did the testing you asked and it appears that Canonical is not
enabling the ARM event support in rasdaemon when they are building it.
Without it enabled I can’t verify that it works.

root@ubuntu:/home/ubuntu# dpkg -l | grep rasdaemon
ii rasdaemon 0.5.6-2ubuntu1
arm64utility to receive RAS error tracings
root@ubuntu:/home/ubuntu# rasdaemon -f
overriding event (830) ras:mc_event with new print handler
rasdaemon: ras:mc_event event enabled
rasdaemon: Enabled event ras:mc_event
overriding event (827) ras:aer_event with new print handler
rasdaemon: ras:aer_event event enabled
rasdaemon: Enabled event ras:aer_event
rasdaemon: Can't parse /proc/cpuinfo: missing [vendor_id] [cpu family] [model]
[cpu MHz] [flags]
rasdaemon: Can't register mce handler
rasdaemon: Can't get ras:extlog_mem_event traces. Perhaps this feature is not
supported on your system.
rasdaemon: Can't get traces from ras:aer_event
rasdaemon: Listening to events for cpus 0 to 45

It appears I have the correct rasdaemon executable as the package is
tagged with version 0.5.6-2ubuntu1. When running rasdaemon, mc_event and
aer_event are enabled properly but arm_event is missing. I’ve also
verified that mc_event and aer_event reporting works, but arm_event
reporting is missing when triggering errors (see below).

They will need to compile the rasdaemon executable with the
configuration “--enable-arm” similar to how they must be configuring for
AER with “--enable-aer”.
