[Bug 59881] Re: f-spot timeline slider not restricted

2009-12-28 Thread Iain Churcher
I have added a patch upstream which appears to resolve this issue for me
(including the proposed change by topdownjimmy)

If anyone could give it a test and see if it all works it would be most
appreciated.

Please respond via the upstream bug tracker..

Regards

Iain Churcher

[Bug 238710] Re: No location bar

2008-06-18 Thread Iain Churcher
On a further note I realised that the en-US version was installed and
not the en-GB. I had to manually follow this guide to install the
firefox-3.0 en-GB.xpi languge pack.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=212310

This now works and my language tab states

English (GB) Language Pack 3.0

Could the original problem have been an incorrect version of the
language pack?

[Bug 238710] Re: No location bar

2008-06-18 Thread Iain Churcher
I have managed to fix this issue myself although exactly what was wrong
I can only speculate...

A while ago i manually installed one of the betas for firefox 3 (before
upgrading to Hardy) I installed this alongside firefox 2 so I could run
both versions. Then upon upgrading to Hardy the Firefox 3 b5 just
appeared to work so i removed my shortcut to the old beta (without
deleting the install) and carried on. It was only when i installed the
upgrade to RC1 that the problems shown appeared for me.

Remembering this today I did a "whereis firefox" in a terminal and got
the following:

whereis firefox
firefox: /usr/bin/firefox /etc/firefox /usr/lib/firefox /usr/share/firefox

I decided to cleanse my system of all things firefox and start again,
therefore i went into synaptic and removed all firefox items .
Afterwards i went to each of the directories listed above and deleted
everything.. I also searched each of areas for firefox and deleted
several firefox-3.0 folders and mozilla plugins etc.. Therefore my
system had no ref to any firefox folders.

Next I went back into synaptic and ticked the firefox package (which
also installs firefox-3) after this completed firefox now works fine for
me.

I can only hypothesize that my previous manual install of a firefox 3
beta was screwing something up. I recommend that anyone that has this
issue remove all firefox packages and folders from there system and re-
installing.

I can only say this worked for me and therefore I believe that this is
not a bug in the package but a config issue.

A big thanks to Alex and anyone else that contributed to this bug
report.

[Bug 238710] Re: No location bar

2008-06-11 Thread Iain Churcher
Hello,

Did some more research and found a bunch of people having the same
issue:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=824399&page=3

In addition I have attempted to reinstall xulrunner... made no
difference...

I have discovered that errors are being logged in the error console on
start up I have attached a screenshot of them:

I hope this helps...

[Bug 238710] Re: No location bar

2008-06-10 Thread Iain Churcher
Hello,

I have the same issue... nothing is shown at all in the navigation
toolbar, no address bar no search bar no forward back buttons home
etc...

I initially reinstalled the firefox packaes using synaptic... after a
firefox restart this then showed the back forward and home icons but
still no address or search bar... after clicking Restore Default Set on
the customize toolbar option this then promptly removed the icons and i
am back with nothing.

I have tried the above solutions and also have no luck.. I also receive the
*** Exception loading string bundle: Component returned failure code:
0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIStringBundle.GetStringFromName]
Error

I have then examined the languages tab in the Add-ons manager and noted the
following:
Firefox (eng-GB) 3.0b5 - Not compatible with Firefox 3.0
Xulrunner (eng-GB) 1.9b5 - Not compatible with Firefox 3.0

Clicking find updates just sits there saying searching for updates but
never returns

Could this be the issue?
