[Bug 666633] Re: Unable to Connect to Garmin eTrex Using Usb to Serial
I don't think that this is a gpsbabel bug. Versions of gpsbabel that shipped with Lucid show the same bug. Unfortunately, syslog and messages don't provide any information. I have tried setting the interface on the Garmin to "Garmin" and "NMEA". I have also tried using gpsd, but still not managed to connect to the eTrex.. I have also tried connecting using gpsd with the same results. Now if I try on the same computer running Maverick using Windows XP running under Virtual Box, I can connect to the eTrex. If I install Lucid on the computer, I can connect to the eTrex with no problem. I get similar results on another computer runing Maverick. [Bug 611226] Re: Dovecot-common Install Error
Antonio, It is a DNS error. Let me explain what I have done. I am using a pre- built xen image from http://stacklet.com/ Download stacklet for Ubuntu lucid X64. Create a xen instance using the image and login: r...@ubuntu:~# hostname ubuntu r...@ubuntu:~# hostname -f ubuntu.bantercat.co.uk OK so that works as expected. Now do a apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade, which installs a new EC2 kernel. r...@ubuntu:~# hostname ubuntu r...@ubuntu:~# hostname -f hostname: Name or service not known r...@ubuntu:~# In /etc/hostname I have just ubuntu. This happens using either DHCP, or a static IP. I am running bind9 on one of my servers and I am pretty confident that my DNS is OK. Note that hostname -f works fine on all other computers in my network. [Bug 254201] Re: feature regression: ffmpeg lacks some video encoders (like h263+, MPEG4, maybe more...)
Reinhard, Thanks very much for making your package available. However, you don't seem to have enabled aac support: FFmpeg version r11872+debian_3:0.svn20080206-12ubuntu3, Copyright (c) 2000-2008 Fabrice Bellard, et al. configuration: --enable-gpl --enable-pp --enable-swscaler --enable-x11grab --prefix=/usr --enable-libgsm --enable-libtheora --enable-libvorbis --enable-pthreads --disable-strip --enable-libfaad --enable-libfaadbin --enable-liba52 --enable-liba52bin --enable-libdc1394 --disable-armv5te --disable-armv6 --disable-altivec --disable-vis --enable-shared --disable-static libavutil version: 49.6.0 libavcodec version: 51.50.0 libavformat version: 52.7.0 libavdevice version: 52.0.0 built on Oct 3 2008 22:40:31, gcc: 4.3.2 Input #0, mpeg, from '/media/disk/Videos/encode/Great_British_Journeys_-_2008-10-03,_4-59_PM_-_William_Cobbett's_Rural_Rides.mpg': Duration: 00:45:50.8, start: 0.242767, bitrate: 2762 kb/s Stream #0.0[0x1e0]: Video: mpeg2video, yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 64:45 DAR 16:9], 3748 kb/s, 25.00 tb(r) Stream #0.1[0x1c0]: Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, 192 kb/s Unknown encoder 'aac' I have all the Intrepid faac libs installed, so I think the error is probably due to ffmpeg. [Bug 268020] [NEW] Special Keys Do Not Work in Lenovo 3000
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace I think that this is a different bug to #253337. On my Lenovo 3000 N200 none of the special keys (volume, screen brightness, etc) work. They all worked correctly with KDE 3.5. [Bug 267663] Re: Suspend/Hibernate functions in logout dialog too hard to find
Thanks, that does work. Howeverm if you just click the arrow. rather than click and hold, it has the effect of clicking the Shutdown button. IMHO this is a useability/interface bug. A single click should open the submenu. [Bug 267663] [NEW] No Suspend or Hibernate in GUI
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace I suspect that this must have been reported already, but I can't find the report:) I have just installed KDE 4.1 from the ppa packages at http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu. The log out dialog doesn't have Suspend or Hibernate buttons. However, running pm-suspend from the command line works correctly.
