[Bug 1696261] [NEW] Settings app items have bad text wrapping
Public bug reported: Ubuntu GNOME 17.04 with GNOME 3.24. gnome-control-center: Installed: 1:3.24.1-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:3.24.1-0ubuntu1 What actually happened: When I open settings, I find that my perfectly innocuous Region & Language settings have been kidnapped by a stranger named Lan Guage. [Bug 1441253] Re: hanging suspend job prevents shutdown
Had a couple of reports of this on System76 Machines. It appears this is manifests as an incomplete resume, where some job in the resume doesn't terminate, leading systemd to think the machine is still resuming, while at the same time the system appears to be up and running normally. [Bug 1552798] [NEW] Touchpad on Laptop Can be Disabled on Accident
Public bug reported: In the Mouse and Trackpad Settings plugin, there is an option (when a trackpad is present, e.g. on a laptop) to enable or disable the trackpad. This is a dangerous option because if the setting is toggled on a laptop (where the trackpad is the only built-in pointing device) without first plugging in an external mouse, the trackpad which was used to toggle the setting is disabled and cannot be used to re-enable it. This requires one of three solutions: 1. Plugging in an External Mouse to re-enable the setting 2. Using the [TAB] and [SPACE] keys to navigate the UI and get to the switch and toggle it back on 3. Running a gsettings command in the terminal to reset the option Option 1 may not be available if the user doesn't have an external mouse. Options 2 and 3 aren't discoverable for new users, which can leave someone new to Ubuntu with no way to use their computer. The gsettings key that is toggle by this widget is: org.gnome.desktop.peripherals.touchpad/send-events The key accepts the values "enabled", "disabled", and "disabled-on- external-mouse". The third option would be a much better choice for the disabled item, since that still allows use of the trackpad without an external mouse. The wording of the option could also be updated to something similar to: "Disable touchpad automatically when an external mouse is plugged in". [Bug 762964] Re: Bluetooth doesn't work in Ubuntu 11.04
This is also affecting all bluetooth enabled System76 Laptops. Upon investigation of the issue, we found that enabling the bluetooth module (It is off at boot by default on our models), then running these commands allows bluetooth to function: sudo killall bluetoothd sudo bluetoothd However, if the module is disabled then enabled, it will not work until the commands are run again. This should suggest a problem with the bluez package (provider of /usr/sbin/bluetoothd), right? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/762964 Title: Bluetooth doesn't work in Ubuntu 11.04 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 762964] Re: Bluetooth doesn't work in Ubuntu 11.04
Additionally, using a system with a bluetooth module powered on from the moment the system is booted allows bluetooth to function out of the box, without restarting bluetoothd. It looks like there is a bug that prevents bluetoothd from detecting a module activated after it's been started.
