[Bug 1392618] Re: [USB-Audio - Plantronics .Audio 628 USB, playback] No automute

2015-10-21 Thread Ihor Kaharlichenko
Got the same headset. On Ubuntu 14.04 doesn't seem to work at all. The
device gets listed in System settings > Sound > Input/Output lists, but
picking it for playback or recording doesn't change anything - the
built-in mic and speakers are used instead.

[Bug 550101] Re: Export of keys and keyrings is not available

Sebastien, the point is that you cannot export a password keyring and
then import it elsewhere. At least as of Seahorse 3.2.2 shipped in
Ubuntu 12.04.

[Bug 958408] Re: skype causing NULL pointer dereference at 0000000000000028 in kernel

2012-03-22 Thread Ihor Kaharlichenko
I tried linux-3.0.0-16.29 kernel just as you asked and didn't manage to
reproduce the bug. But the point is that I cannot figure out the
necessary steps to reproduce it on 3.2.0-19 either. It just happened
some times when I played test sound in skype and via aplay (first
through pluse then through hw devices) simultaneously. So I cannot be
sure it is a regression.

The reason I think it has something to do with skype is because it
appeared in dmesg in a backtrace just below NULL pointer dereference
message.

Right now I managed to get sound in skype by installing
libasound2-plugins:i386 that ships alsa plugin for pulseaudio and the
problem seems to be gone. But anyway I don't think it is ok that the
absence of user-level library causes null pointer issues in kernel.

[Bug 958408] [NEW] skype causing NULL pointer dereference at 0000000000000028 in kernel

2012-03-18 Thread Ihor Kaharlichenko
Public bug reported:

I installed skype:i386 on my amd64 from partner repositories.

I couldn't get neither sound input nor sound output from skype. Whenever

the kernel becomes tainted and the whole sound subsystem becomes blown
up - I cannot get other applications to play anything after that.

[Bug 511585] Re: Unable to start pump server because of python version mismatch

2010-06-21 Thread Ihor Kaharlichenko
I totally agree with you, guys, - I hate hardcoding myself. But
meanwhile shouldn't we have a hackish fix that just works (tm) while
Debian/Ubuntu Python team proposes a robust policy on how to deal with
such problems?

Seen from my perspective ignoring this issue because hardcoding is bad
is not a way to go either - casual users need distcc to work out of the
box regardless of how it is packaged and don't bother creating dirty
symlinks/patching the source on their own.

I suggest the following:
1. fix this issue with a hack (either with my patch or any other way)
2. create another one describing the python version hardcoding problem and
handle it separately; this issue can address several packages at once (I don't
think pump-distcc is that special with this problem)

Meanwhile users can enjoy the power of pupm-distcc.

[Bug 451947] [NEW] Version bump request (1.2.0)

2009-10-15 Thread Ihor Kaharlichenko
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: php-codesniffer

Since 17 Aug 2009 the current stable version of php codesniffer is
1.2.0. Both stable (Jaunty) and pre-release (Karmic) packages are still
of version 1.1.0.

That version has some problems with Zend coding standard which render
the package useless and make users fall back to pear installer.

[Bug 321287] Re: Seahorse will not generate a key

2009-03-10 Thread Ihor Kaharlichenko
I confirm that gpg key generation is broken on Ubuntu 8.10 running on
Linux cesar 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:28:32 UTC 2009 x86_64

I get pretty the same error.

Here's the info you asked:

ce...@cesar:~$ ls -A .gnupg/ -ld

ce...@cesar:~$ ls -l /home/cesar/.gnupg/
Total 20

As you can see I'm the only user who has access to these files (as it
should be, afaiu).
