[Bug 1843937] Re: checkinstall makes the computer unbootable

2021-10-22 Thread Illia Ostapyshyn
Just experienced the same problem also while installing emacs
(2a0a368ddcd9b4eed067ddc114f3fb18b13bbe14) with sudo checkinstall
--fstrans=no.

The issue is that /lib -> usr/lib symlink is being replaced with a
directory.

[Bug 1770429] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 No audio from speakers. Headphones working. Surface Pro 3

2020-02-23 Thread Illia
Read a lot of advise. Nothing helped.
Tried to load module-detect in pulse like this
### Automatically load driver modules depending on the hardware available
.ifexists module-udev-detect.so
load-module module-detect
load-module module-udev-detect
.else
### Use the static hardware detection module (for systems that lack udev
support)
load-module module-detect
.endif

I.e I just have inserted line "load-module module-detect" before load-module
module-udev-detect.
And now I have my digital and analog outputs.

When I used only load-module module-detect without module-udev-detect i
had my analog output but no digital

[Bug 1836147] [NEW] ubuntu installation crashes with errno 30

2019-07-11 Thread Illia
Public bug reported:

While installing any ubuntu based distro (xubuntu 18.04, xubuntu 19.04, lubuntu
18.04) I encounter the same error: errno30 read-only filesystem. I`ve tried
different usb drives, different usb ports, moving my ssd (Western digital green
480gb) to another SATA port, nothing helps. Windows can be installed without
problems, but ubuntu fails.
My laptop is ASUS K50IN with t9800 CPU and Western digital ssd, BIOS version
223. Everything else is in stock version
