[Bug 1038373] Re: 8086:0887 Intel Centrino 2230 card doesn't connect, and has extremely high latency when connected
Actually, it is still here. I noticed something different today, perhaps the compat-wireless workaround was conflated. Ping times are fine, when AC (mains) power is plugged in. When I'm on battery is when the ping times go up to 500+ms. I'm usually plugged in, so I perhaps thought that the compat-wireless fixed it. sudo iwconfig wlan0 power off actually fixed it. [Bug 1038373] Re: 8086:0887 Intel Centrino 2230 card doesn't connect, and has extremely high latency when connected
AP : Netgear WNDR3800, firmware version 1.0.0.38 (latest). Connection type : 2.4Ghz 802.11n (I tryed changing to 802.11g and this didn't fix it). No other devices have the issue with the AP, including Android, Mac, and this machine on Windows. The distance to the AP is 3 feet, with no obstructions. Changing the distance does not seem to affect the problem. I don't know if the issue occurs with other APs. I'll be taking this laptop to school soon, I'll update when I attempt to connect to another AP. I don't know if this is a regression, this laptop is a brand new warranty replacement, so I haven't ever had this model of wireless card before. [Bug 517571] Re: Computer hang-up on coping or moving a folder/file
More testing... It only kernel panicked when I copied a large directory from my internal HDD to my internal HDD. When I gksudo nautilus it appears to work. I also today added another user (I should have done this before but didn't have time) and nautilus appears to work for the other user so there is probably a problem in my home directory (though I deleted all settings under .nautilus and it did not fix the problem). I can reproduce every time in my main account, (not the kernel panic, but the hand and memory/cpu consumption) by copying more than 100 or so files, even if the size is not that big. I would probably return this to unconfirmed or invalid since it only appears to occur with a specific user. [Bug 229799] Re: [RV350 9600xt] System crashes 50% of time on boot on 'Rage Theatre setting standard 0x0000
I am seeing this in Jaunty with various xorg configurations, but only when I have my TV plugged in through S-Video out instead of a monitor, or concurrent with the monitor. If it is not plugged in the theatre module is not loaded. Whenever the theatre module is loaded it crashes (from the xorg.0.log) at the (II) RADEON(0): Rage Theatre setting standard 0x line. [Bug 318560] [NEW] Linksys WMP54G bit-rate degrades over time
Public bug reported: I have installed a wireless WMP54G v4.1 adapter. Serial number is MDI40H719803 The following is what happens and is repeatable : If I boot up my wireless is fast, i.e. around 3-4Mbps. This is tested on my internal network. Some time goes by and then my speed degrades to 400-700Kbps. It always does this after about 1-2 hours of being connected. To fix it I reconnect using iwconfig with the following exact commands : iwconfig wlan0 essid FitchResearch iwconfig wlan0 rate 54M after which I again get the fast speeds. Again, after 1-2 hours the speeds degrade to 400-700Kbps. This happens every single time. I have switched between wireless channels with no change in behavior. I have two other computers connected the the wireless network, a Mac and an XP machine, and neither of them every have any degradation. My version is 8.04.1 Here is the output from iwconfig : wlan0 IEEE 802.11bg ESSID:FitchResearch Mode:Managed Frequency:2.462 GHz Access Point: 00:0F:B5:6E:39:9A Bit Rate=54 Mb/s Tx-Power=16 dBm Retry min limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr=2352 B Power Management:on Link Quality=83/100 Signal level:-62 dBm Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 Here is the output from iwlist scan : wlan0 Scan completed : Cell 01 - Address: 00:0F:B5:6E:39:9A ESSID:FitchResearch Mode:Master Channel:11 Frequency:2.462 GHz (Channel 11) Quality=89/100 Signal level:-62 dBm Encryption key:off Bit Rates:1 Mb/s; 2 Mb/s; 5.5 Mb/s; 11 Mb/s; 18 Mb/s 24 Mb/s; 36 Mb/s; 54 Mb/s; 6 Mb/s; 9 Mb/s; 12 Mb/s; 48 Mb/s Extra:tsf=003977da6196 Extra: Last beacon: 48ms ago Here is the output from lspci -vvv : 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82P965/G965 Memory Controller Hub (rev 02) Subsystem: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. [Bug 162111] Evince displays math equations incorrectly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince I am using Evince to view a TexLive compilation of an Optics Express paper that I am trying to submit in DVI format.
