[Bug 2059170] [NEW] RTL8852BE can't connect on high 5Ghz channels
Public bug reported: Doesn't connect to channels above 64, so when my AP decides to use for example channel 116 I get disconnected. Can confirm that on Windows 11 it works in those high channels. Even a "nmcli d w" doesn't show any WiFi's with high channels when in other devices I can see them. Using Ubuntu 24.04 Beta updated as of today, it did happen with 23.10 and 22.04.4 too. [Bug 1852025] [NEW] [TOSHIBA NB515, Realtek ALC269VB, Speaker, Internal] volume slider problem
Public bug reported: Everytime I boot there is no sound. With QasMixer I am able to fix it by selecting hw:0 (HDA Intel) and increasing the second slider from bottom to top, that slider says "auriculares" in spanish which is "headphones". I am not using headphones though and I didn't found any other way of increasing that slider in the standard programs that come installed by default in Ubuntu 19.10 (and many other older releases). [Bug 1830502] Re: apparmor uses excessive memory leading to oom kill
The biggest problem is that it isn't easily disabled because it is hardcoded in the script instead of being in /etc/apparmor/parser.conf. Instead of hardcoding, it would had been better to just update that conffile and let dpkg update it if the user didn't change it (which is highly likely) or on new installs. In /lib/apparmor/functions we have this: # LP: #1383858 - expr tree simplification is too slow for some # policy on 32bit ARM, so disable it for now cache_extra_args= if [ -d "$PROFILES_CACHE_VAR" ] && [ "$pdir" = "$PROFILES_VAR" ]; then cache_extra_args="-O no-expr-simplify" fi So now for machines with 2Gib of RAM and Snaps, Ubuntu 18.04 has become unusable. I know the minimum requirements are 4Gib but it did actually work fine with 2Gib before so it is a bit sad to loose that capability. My suggestion is to just revert that change and do it in parser.conf instead, so at least we have the option to easily modify it to retain some 2Gib support. [Bug 1619753] Re: systemd-fsck does not show results of rootfs filesystem check in logs or journald
But it should be persisted by default in /var/log, so there should be a unit somewhere that if the log has information then it appends it in a file and gets logrotated. [Bug 1297234] Re: Live session set wrong keyboard layout and time zone
If I select Spanish then I expect a default of Spanish keyboard, not english, and a second alternative of Latin American keyboard; English as a third option What is expected: - select Spanish language. - select Try Ubuntu. - open GEdit. - type "ñ" on my keyboard and get an "ñ" on GEdit. Re: [Bug 395565] Re: atheros wifi not working with kernel 2.6.31-1
That card is handled by the driver ath5k now. The problem is that it doesn't work on Karmic with its kernel 2.6.31 (don't remember Ubuntu version but the latest one as of yesterday). To solve it, I had compiled manually a 2.6.32-rc5 kernel and it worked beautifully. Maybe you can do that too, or try to force the install of madwifi, or try to use ndiswrappers. Re: [Bug 99547] Re: [apport] depmod crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp()
This doesn't seem related to the depmod problem. First try removing the package linux-restricted-modules-2.6.28-15-generic. If the error persist when trying to remove that package and if you know posix shell scripting, then edit the /var/lib/dpkg/info/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.28-15-generic.postrm , put debug statements to see where it fails and try to avoid the error or ignore it. If the error persist when trying to remove that package and if you don't know posix shell scripting, then delete the file /var/lib/dpkg/info/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.28-15-generic.postrm. Then try to remove the package again, it should work now. After that, install both packages again: "sudo apt-get install linux-image-2.6.28-15-generic linux-restricted-modules-2.6.28-15-generic". Hope this helps! Good luck! Yes, I agree with Leann. Let me know if that doesn't fix your problem, then I will try to get instructions for the DKMS. Good luck! Re: [Bug 99547] Re: [apport] depmod crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp()
Hello. You can fix it by removing the kernel that is giving problems, then removing the directory /lib/modules/VERSION_OF_THE_KERNEL_REMOVED, then reinstalling the kernel. DKMS has a caching system for modules also, so if the problematic module is one generated by DKMS and it has a corrupt cached version, you must tell DKMS to rebuild all its modules or clear its cache, I don't remember how I did that though and I don't have access to an Ubuntu machine right now, but if someone asks then I will try to give the proper instructions. Hope this helps anyway. Bye. [Bug 99547] Re: [apport] depmod crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp()
I had this problem in a customer machine today, running Ubuntu 9.04 updated as of today, it made the -15 kernel unbootable. Can this fix be backported to 9.04? [Bug 330834] Re: Depmod segfaults when configuring linux-image-2.6.28-8-generic
Try this: sudo depmod -a 2.6.28-8-generic If you run only sudo depmod -a it updates the modules database for the running kernel, not the kernel just installed, the command above maybe gives you more information. Hope this helps. -- Depmod segfaults when configuring linux-image-2.6.28-8-generic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/330834 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 18928] Hardy 8.04 Beta, selected Spanish and assumes I live in Spain
When booting Hardy 8.04 Beta with the alternate CD it immediately shows a list of languages to choose from, so I chose Spanish. But then during installation, it never asked where I live and assumed that I live in Spain, then it asked for my timezone but it showed only timezones from Spain. Being able to select Spanish language right from the boot menu is a good thing, but then, when the installer starts, please allow to select the country, the type of keyboard and the timezone.
