[Bug 1531455] Re: reboot under Oracle Virtual Box not possible
Yes, I noticed this with 5.1.18_Debian r114002 and I checked that it still happens with 5.1.22_Debian r115126, and my workaround still works as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1531455 Title: reboot under Oracle Virtual Box not possible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/1531455/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1531455] Re: reboot under Oracle Virtual Box not possible
Hi, I found a similar problem with a Debian Jessie VM with kernel 3.16.0-4-686-pae, so the situation may not be completely applicable to Ubuntu 16.04, but I think it may help. I found that unloading just the virtio_net module before rebooting made the kernel panic not happen (no need to change NIC driver to Intel). So as a temporary workaround, if your VM network interface is eth0, you may make its entry in /etc/newtwork/interfaces look like this: iface eth0 inet dhcp pre-up modprobe virtio_net post-down modprobe -r virtio_net This worked for me and can be done completely inside of the VM. I hope that this issue gets fixed since it may be a showstopper for remotely managed VMs. Thanks!

[Bug 31746] Re: Impossible to use multiple profiles at the same time
Hi John, here you are some of the info you requested: * How to reproduce: With all Firefox sessions closed, launch Firefox; while it is running, open a command line interpreter and enter ``firefox -ProfileManager``. * Expected results: The Profile Manager window should appear. * Actual result: A new browser window of the currently running profile appears. * Workaround: Run ``firefox -a NonExistingProfileName`` to force Firefox to show the Profile Manager window. * My current (affected) version: 2.0.0.14+2nobinonly-0ubuntu0.7.10 (Hardy Heron w/ security updates, haven't tried 3.0) As you see, you don't actually need to set up two profiles to trigger the error. [Bug 173860] Greyscale printing from Evince
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince It would be very useful if the printing dialog of Evince supported a switch for colour/greyscale printing. Some printers have separate colour and black ink cartridges, and when colour runs out it's still OK to print most docs in black & white.
