[Bug 1843910] [NEW] cannot add public (unauthenticated) web ics calendar

2019-09-13 Thread Jérémie Bouttier
Public bug reported:

I am trying to import a public agenda in Gnome Calendar, for instance :
  https://indico.math.cnrs.fr/export/categ/180.ics?from=-31d
When adding this URL in the Gnome Calendar settings, I am asked for credentials
which should not be needed (wget or Firefox download the ics file just fine
without them).

In fact, the same problem seems to have been already reported here :
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1100027/gnome-calendar-asks-credentials-for-public-ical
Someone suggests to use evolution as a workaround, but IMO this is still a bug
of Gnome Calendar which is the default calendar for Ubuntu 18.04...

[Bug 1365935] [NEW] BrowsePoll directive stopped working after 12.04 - 14.04 upgrade

2014-09-05 Thread Jérémie Bouttier
Public bug reported:

  Hi,

I just upgraded my system from Ubuntu 12.04 to 14.04.1, which broke printing.
Previously I had a directive BrowsePoll printserver in my cupsd.conf, where
printserver is the CUPS server managed by my IT staff : this way I could use
both the printing queues managed by them, as well as my locally created queues.
The upgrade has silently modified the CUPS configuration and the BrowsePoll
directive has been moved to a cups-browsed.conf file. However it does seem to
be taken into account, I can see some shared printers on the local network, and
my locally created ones, but not those from printserver. Is there a fix ?
Thanks,

  Jérémie

[Bug 1365935] Re: BrowsePoll directive stopped working after 12.04 - 14.04 upgrade

2014-09-05 Thread Jérémie Bouttier
So you have to move your BrowsePoll directives into /etc/cups/cups-
browsed.conf

As I said, this has already been done by some upgrade script. The issue
is that the result does not work.

[Bug 899071] Re: All icons appears as a simple retangle in the Nautilus

2012-01-05 Thread Jérémie Bouttier
I believe that I am affected by the same bug (on a fresh install of
11.10 with Unity).

Symptom : instead of the standard theme (as in the screenshot of comment
#5), Nautilus displays a blank theme (as in the screenshot of comment
#3).

I could not reproduce the bug in a deterministic manner. When I observe
it, it is typically right after I boot my system and I open Nautilus
e.g. by clicking on the Home Folder button in the launcher. The bug may
then disappear (or not) on the next boot (a killall nautilus as
suggested in comment #7 also seems to make the bug disappear). I
observed the bug perhaps 5 times over the last 25 boots since I first
observed it in December.

[Bug 872044] Re: Bluetooth 'Send files' returns permission denied error

2011-12-21 Thread Jérémie Bouttier
I am affected by the same bug (fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 with
Unity). Actually I cannot do any file transfer with my phone : sending
files from the phone, from the PC, browsing files, nothing works
(permission denied everywhere). Also, the bluetooth-applet crashes. Only
the initial pairing with the phone went fine. Typical errors in syslog
are :

Dec 21 11:26:27 guilleri obex-data-server: sdp_extract_seqtype: Unexpected end
of packet
Dec 21 11:27:08 guilleri bluetoothd[4523]: Bluetooth daemon 4.96

Dec 21 11:29:36 guilleri obex-client[4567]: Permission denied (13)

Comment #14 suggested to look into the Personal file sharing settings
but I cannot find them in Unity's system settings (though the package
gnome-user-share is installed).

2011-12-21 Thread Jérémie Bouttier
Update : I finally found the Personal file sharing settings, it was
well-hidden in the Dash (see Bug #883769). I can now receive files sent
from the phone on my PC. No luck yet for sending files from the PC, and
browsing files on the phone...

[Bug 595416] Re: ipe arrows does not work with LANG=en_DK.UTF-8

2011-09-16 Thread Jérémie Bouttier
I observe the same bug on one of my machines : arrowheads do not appear
with locale LANG=fr_FR.utf8, and reappear with LANG=C. Strangely,
another machine, also under 10.04, is unaffected. The main difference is
that the first has a 64-bit installation, the second a 32-bit one.
