PyQt4 is not the problem - without it QGIS 2.x wouldn't run at all. But QtWebKit is not available for PyQt4 anymore in Debian/Ubuntu. IIRC because the webkit C++ libraries were about to be removed and PyQt4.QtWebKit was removed upfront. QGIS itself doesn't use it, but a bunch of plugins do - openlayers being one of them. So this is not an actual qgis packaging problem, nor an upstream problem, nor a problem of the plugin. The removal of the C++ libraries never happened and the QGIS packages from qgis.org include the PyQt4.QtWebKit bindings based on the still available libraries. Jürgen -- Jürgen E. Brian: Are you positive this is a qgis problem? As said it only appears on wily/amd64 and it doesn't even apply to qgis 2.8 (which builds fine even on wily/amd64). [Bug 540941] Re: [NEW] Sync qgis 1.4.0+12730-3 (universe) from Debian testing (main)
Right. I overlooked httpresponsecontenttype(0). But removing the offending line is the right thing. The constructor automatically assigns QString::null. mError( ) would assign an empty string, which is just almost the same. There's on check for .isNull() later in the case that would behave different with your proposed change. So either remove the lines, use QString::null instead of 0 or change the .isNull() check.
