[Bug 1205075] Re: mountall doesn't treat glusterfs correctly

2014-06-19 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
I think I might be experiencing this bug or something similar, with the
3.5 packages on Ubuntu 12.04. GlusterFS volumes are tried to be mounted
even before GlusterFS is run. I posted a lot of details about the issue
in a serverfault question: http://serverfault.com/questions/604860

[Bug 592022] [NEW] chromium-browser-l10n is not installed

2010-06-09 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Public bug reported:

When installing chromium-browser in an Ubuntu that is set to work in
spanish, chromium-browser-l10n was not installed which caused chromium
to work in english and only in english.

I think it would be nice if it somehow gets installed. Even going to the
language dialog and telling it to install the missing language packages
didn't fix it.

I mistakenly filled a bug against chromium for this:

[Bug 235250] Re: Pidgin-Evolution integration flaky

2008-12-22 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Yes, those two seems related. The first one
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340390 points to a field
mismatch (icq vs aim), which I would say it's not the real problem since
it happens to me using only jabber. The second one,
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499584, is right on target.
Even worst than not checking for current contact is the fact that the
newly created contacts as soon as modified become unsynced and yet
another contact is created.

[Bug 245911] Re: Add Esperanto chars to keyboard layout [patch]

2008-12-10 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
I've created updated packages in my ppa (http://pupeno.com/miscellaneous

upstream. The other one uses those layout options to create the USA
layouts, which were not accepted upstream. Without the USA layouts due
to a bug on Xorg (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19004),
and maybe Ubuntu (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/305309) the
other patch is useless.

[Bug 305309] [NEW] Layout options get lost

2008-12-04 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Public bug reported:

I have some custom layout options for my keyboard (and two keyboard layouts,
USA and USA Dvorak). After a while, the layout options seem to go away, no
longer working. I have:
- Adding Euro sign: letter e and number 5.
- Compose key position: right alt
- Layout switching: both shifts together.
- Third level chooser: right ctrl.

That means that Right-Alt+' a produces á, and Right-Ctrl+e produces €.
But after a while, and I couldn't identify why, it stops working.
Meaning the Alt ant Ctrl keys just work as usual.

Luís Oliveira, wish granted!

It is now a layout option. You can have this new feature in the version
1.3 ~ppa5, in my PPA, which is only for Intrepid though. I haven't it
backported to Hardy. I'd consider it if it's requested bad enough (or
requested).

Also, we are in the process of integrating it upstream
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18142 , so, thankfully, all
these packages will be obsolete soon.

  CORRUPTED MESSAGE

This is the Courier Mail Server 0.58 on host01.

I received the following message for delivery to your address. This message
contains several internal formatting errors. This is often caused by
viruses that attempt to infect remote systems. Instead of blocking
this message, I converted it to a safe, text-only attachment that can be
safely read with a text editor.

This sometimes also happens when the sender's mail software has a bug
that creates improperly-formatted messages. Although these kinds of
formatting errors may often be ignored by other mail servers, this
server detects and intercepts improperly-coded messages in order to
prevent viruses from taking advantage of bugs in E-mail programs:

[Bug 289044] [NEW] International locale

2008-10-25 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Public bug reported:

Can you please include an international locale in Ubuntu that respects
the ISO formats and not any particular way of any particular country?
I'm moving around all the time, using my interface in English, I don't
care about Useans format for dates (MM/DD/). I think the
international locale should support English and international languages,
like Esperanto, Interlingua, etc.

Thanks.

I'm sorry, it seems the original report was wrong and I'm not sure why

2- Click the curved arrow to rotate.

[Bug 282548] [NEW] Eye of Gnome incosistent auto-save

2008-10-13 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: eog

Eye of Gnome auto-saves when moving away from an image by clicking the
right or left arrow but not when closing the image. I believe the two
actions should have the same auto-saving policy as it is possible for
someone to open an image, rotate, next, rotate, next, rotate, close; and
surprisingly, the last one will not be rotated.

If I played designer a little bit, I'd do this: 'open an image, rotate,
close' should prompt for saving; 'open an image, rotate, next, rotate,
close' should auto-save silently. It seems like the most natural
behavior. Another possibility is to just prompt a dialog Do you want to
save? Yes|No [ ] Don't ask me this again.

[Bug 260923] Re: Trigger import twice and Evolution crashes

2008-09-27 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
OK, I'll try to be more clear. I'm running Ubuntu 8.04, Evolution
2.22.3.1

1. File - Import
2. Forward
3. Import a Single file
4. Forward
5. Filename: pick up an mbox file. Note: Filetype automatically set to Berkeley
Mailbox (mbox)
6. Destination folder: import. Note: this is a folder I created, I don't have
any reason why another folder would make any difference.
7. Forward
8. Import
9. Import. Note: yes, click import again. This can happen because the importing
progress window gets hidden if you switch to another application and come back
to Evolution.

I think it should not be possible at all to click import a second time,
but if it is, it shouldn't crash (or import the data twice or any other
thing like that).

Thank you.

[Bug 269507] [NEW] Connect to a webdav folder, not server

Public bug reported:

It seems when connecting to a webdav server, as a client, Ubuntu
connects to the server, authenticates, and then goes to the folder. But
it seems with webdav, you can have authentications per-folder, with
different usernames and passwords. Currently it is impossible to connect
to a folder unless the server is using the same authentication mechanism

[Bug 269511] [NEW] When connecting to webdav, the password prompt doesn't have focus

Public bug reported:

When you have a webdav server on Places, and you connect to it, the
password prompt appears without focus. Most non-tech-people just go

[Bug 263338] Re: Better file copy mechanisms are needed between filesystems (offer rename)

2008-09-12 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
I'd really like a renaming option. KDE offers it, when you pick rename
it automatically appends -2 to the file name before the extension and
allows you to customize it even further, letting you remove bad
characters. Recognizing the target filesystem and marking the characters
to be removed in red should be possible. I think solving this is a must
to avoid annoy some users.

2008-08-24 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Public bug reported:

When importing a single file of mail into Evolution, the last step is
starting the import. You click Import and the import starts with a
dialog that shows the process. If you click Import again, and the wizard
and button are enabled, Evolution crashes. At any rate, I think it is a
problem that it is enabled even if it wouldn't crash. What's worst, if
you go to another desk and come back, the dialog showing the progress
goes to the back and you go Oh, I forgot to start the import... crash!

[Bug 260696] [NEW] Rotating a read-only image fails silently

2008-08-23 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Public bug reported:

Ensure that you have a read-only image on a directory on your home (the
directory was not read only). A little lock appears on the image, but for
someone as my wife, that means nothing. Open the image with the default viewing
program. Rotate the image, the viewing program just rotates it for your viewing
pleasure. Close the program and the process of permanently rotating the image
fails silently.
Possible solutions:
- Refuse to rotate (agh!).
- On closing or moving to the next picture, make a pop up window saying that
image could not be saved (probable the easiest way to solve this bug, but not
very nice).
- On rotating show a pop up (same as before)
- On rotating show a status bar like that for remembering a password on
Firefox which is excellent explaining that the rotation operation will be lost
because the image can't be saved.
Alternative, add a button that should appear at that moment to try to make the
image writable. That would make a lovable GUI.
Thanks.

[Bug 245911] Re: Add Esperanto chars to keyboard layout [patch]

2008-07-08 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
That should be possible to some extent, and it shouldn't be that hard.
In my opinion, features like adding euro to e, break when you switch to
a layout like Esperanto or USA - Dvorak. So it's hard to me to test my
own work if the reference is broken. I may look into it when I have more
free time. At the moment I'm trying to create some packages to put in my
PPA, so people can start using these layouts without having to apply any
patches or wait for some possible inclusion in future Ubuntus.

[Bug 245911] [NEW] Add Esperanto chars to keyboard layout [patch]

2008-07-05 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xkb-data

Hello,

I'm attaching a patch for the us file of symbols, to add two more
layouts for Qwerty and Dvorak which add a very simple way for the casual
Esperanto typist to type Esperanto's non-ASCII characters. This really
can solve many of the problems of typing Esperanto in Ubuntu. I implore
you to include this patch.

Thank you.

[Bug 236767] Re: Cannot set alt + alt-r as window switcher

2008-06-13 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
1. System - Preferences - Keyboard shortcuts
2. Window Management - Move between windows with pop up
3. Click on the accelerator, to re-set it.
4. Press alt and alt-r or alt-gr.

Nothing happens. No accelerator is set. alt+alt-r should be set. It was
set and worked properly in the previous version of Ubuntu and I loved
it.

[Bug 236767] [NEW] Cannot set alt + alt-r as window switcher

2008-06-02 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 7.08 I was able to set alt + alt-r (right alt, or graphic alt)
as the window switcher, that is, instead of alt-tab. That was very
ergonomic. When I upgraded, this key combination would only take me to
the next window, but nothing else. And it is impossible to set the
combination again.

Thanks.

[Bug 209214] [NEW] Mails in trash while moving are confused

2008-03-30 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Hello,
Making mails appear in trash when they are moved, is very, very confusing. It
too me, a power user and programmer, a while to figure it out. My wife just
couldn't. She kept restoring important emails eventually having a mess.
Furthermore, from time to time I go to the trash, to see if there's anything
important there, something I've done frequently in KMail. With Evolution, it's
so full of important duplicated emails, that if I accidentally deleted an
email, I'm never going to find it.

[Bug 205901] [NEW] Birthdays to have alarms

2008-03-24 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I'm moving from KDE to Gnome, from Kontact to Evolution. One thing I
miss a lot is that Kontact would pop up a message (alarm) when a
birthday happens according to my address book. Even though Evolution
shows the birthdays in the calendar, it never pops up a message, making
me miss birthdays. It would be interesting if that was configurable or
if it would just include an actual alarm in the calendar birthday
entries.

[Bug 182384] Re: Paster or Pylons don't depend on the right python-nose

2008-02-05 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Yes, that's the good thing. Actually, I build always packages from sources, if
the right dependencies were there, I would have just downloaded a newer nose.
In the current situation I had to try the system and see it fail and infeer
than a newer version of nose was required.
Thank you for understanding.

ignore this request. I'm trying to build the git-core packages on Ubuntu

[Bug 130389] Include shebang support

2007-08-04 Thread J . Pablo Fernández
Public bug reported:

It would be very nice if the SBCL package already included shebang
support as explained on: http://www.sbcl.org/manual/Unix_002dstyle-
Command-Line-Protocol.html#Unix_002dstyle-Command-Line-Protocol

It'd be nice so one would actually be able to create a program, there's
no other way to create a SBCL/CL program and ship it (unless you can
accept all programs to be 25MB big and have all the libraries and sbcl
embedded). If this is enabled, one could create a CL library and an SBCL
script that would be dropped on /usr/bin/ that would be the program that
uses the library. (Other implementations would be as problematic as they
are today).

Thank you.
