[Bug 406790] Re: Very slow resume after hibernation with nvidia binary driver version 180.44
I have tried to find out if the 65 seconds of extra time can somewhere be seen in a log file but without success. I changed the /usr/lib/pm- utils/pm-functions script to give me some more timing info. The only thing I could find out was that the 65 seconds happen before the "Awake"-log in /var/log/pm-suspend.log. So, to my way of thinking pm- utils can be excluded as being part of the origin of the problem. But I am really no expert. -- Very slow resume after hibernation with nvidia binary driver version 180.44 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406790 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 406790] Re: Very slow resume after hibernation with nvidia binary driver version 180.44
** Description changed: - I'm not sure which package this affects. It some kind of resume issue + I'm not sure which package this affects. It's some kind of resume issue after hibernation when using the nvidia binary driver (version 180.44). Further information: Suspend and Hibernation work with both the nv and the nvidia binary driver (version 180.44) from the jaunty repo. With the nv driver the hibernation-image is written back and after just a few moments the system is back with the password prompt and I can go on working. This does not take much time and depends on the size of the resume image. With the binary driver, after the image is written back to RAM, the hard disk LED does not seem to blink anymore and the screen becomes black with the cursor blinking in the lower left corner for about 30 seconds. Then there is a beep and the screen becomes completely black for around 35 seconds to the next beep and then after a few moments the password prompt appears and work can go on. I don't know what's the reason for that 65 seconds of black-screen-extra-time-with-beeping-around when using the nvidia binary driver but in my opinion this should be improved. Just chiming in. I have the same issue in Feisty Fawn 7.04 Beta (Xubuntu) as reported above.
