I don't know if this helps, but for my USB drive, the solution to Bug #151025 worked. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-mount/+bug/151025 details as follows: HERE'S THE FIX: Go into gconf-editor and navigate to /system/storage/default_options/vfat/mount_options, and then remove the "usefree" option from the list. [Bug 136627] Re: An USB Flash drive fails to mount after disconnect-reconnect
Exit gconf-editor, and try hotplugging your drive again. It works :-) So I did APPLICATIONS --> SYSTEM TOOLS --> CONFIGURATION EDITOR --> opened SYSTEM --> STORAGE --> DEFAULT OPTIONS --> right-clicked on MOUNT OPTIONS --> EDIT KEY --> removed USEFREE option from the list. -- An USB Flash drive fails to mount after disconnect-reconnect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/136627 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 136627] Re: An USB Flash drive fails to mount after disconnect-reconnect
I don't know if this helps, but for my USB drive, the solution to Bug #151025 worked. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-mount/+bug/151025 details as follows: HERE'S THE FIX: Go into gconf-editor and navigate to /system/storage/default_options/vfat/mount_options, and then remove the "usefree" option from the list.
