*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 496435 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/496435 This is the best fix I found after an hour on Google http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1014708 I was dual-booting 9.10 with Windows 7 and it was giving me the grub_puts_ error after upgrading to 10.04. Luckily I found this side that had a 3 line command fix. Used my 9.10 disk for it and worked like a charm. [Bug 496435] Re: upgrades of the grub-pc package can overwrite wrong MBR
Hey all after an hour on Google I found a fix that worked for me for the Grub_puts_ error. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1014708 I am currently dual-booting Windows 7 with Ubuntu 9.10. After upgrading to 10.04 though I got the grub_puts_ error. I just used my Ubuntu 9.10 disk and followed those 3 commands, restarted and computer booted no problems.
