I installled the 9.10 in the same laptop which is Hp 6535s and have the
same problem. When i start the OS, brightness is different from what i
configured but it reverts back to my configuration as soon as i open the

My system crashed a week ago.. tried to get it up running via safemode but got 
the error - couldnot start the X server (your graphical environment) due to 
some internal error. So i searched the web n found that i could uninstall the 
compix n also teh flgrx driver.. it worked and i was able to gt it running. I 
was also able to download back the fglrx driver but cannot enable the visual 
effects.. always gets the error.. i installed the compiz but then the system 
crashes as before
I need to mention that i have a 9.10 installed in the same laptop in no probs 
with the destop effects n compiz..

I changed the display brigtness in sysem>preference>power management (on Ac 
power) but it keeps changing from my setting either after startup or some time 
of usage. the value is 1%.
And On Battery powere, I activated the " Reduce Backlight brightness" , but the 
brigtness increases when i reomove the ac plug

in file browser, when you upload a photo as the pattern in backgrounds and 
emblem (edit menu), it load fine but the seam becomes fussy after restart or 
opening a new file browser.

If you need more info, please include the step i need to perform to get it as i 
am familiar with using terminal language.
