[Bug 1931024] Re: BOOT fails on UEFI with 100MB initrd.img [Dell XPS 9550]

2021-11-09 Thread Jakob Haufe
Can you point to a merge request or Debian BTS bug where this work is
being done?

I have a report from a user where the systems is hardly able to be
updated because of absurd initrd sizes of more that 100MB.

I would like to reproduce the issue and try out your optimizations.

[Bug 1888543] [NEW] hwclock: fails to set time on glibc 2.31

2020-07-22 Thread Jakob Haufe
Public bug reported:

With glibc 2.31, hwclock from busybox is unable to set the system time
due to the changes in settimeofday behavior.

The problem has been reported upstream in [1] which also contains a
patch.

hwclock from busybox is important as it's used on the Raspberry Pi to set the
system
time when an RTC is present.

This bug applies to focal and groovy.

[Bug 1864454] Re: libeatmydata1 missing from focal/i386

2020-02-24 Thread Jakob Haufe
** Also affects: libeatmydata (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Description changed:

The binary package libeatmydata1 is missing from the i386 arch on focal.
  See dists/focal/main/binary-amd64/by-
  hash/SHA256/cd0f26784e78e33aa3887f86c4326eb8088ef4c70097e983850aa376703e8e5f
  for reference.

While the package seems to have been built
  (https://launchpadlibrarian.net/396587827/buildlog_ubuntu-
disco-i386.libeatmydata_105-7_BUILDING.txt.gz) I could not find out why
  it has been uploaded incompletely.
+
+ Update: I just noticed the deb itself is in
+ http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/libe/libeatmydata/ so this is
+ most probably a bug in the archive management software.
