[Bug 578506] Re: [Kernel] ACPI: EC: input buffer is not empty, aborting transaction

2011-02-06 Thread Jakub Woźniak
I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit on my acer 5735z
kernel: 2.6.35-26-generic (from Ubuntu repos)

Now I'm booting with pci=noacpi, the problem still occurs but with less
frequency (i think..). Using acpi=off solves the problem.

I don't know when this issue appears, I can't even reproduce that bug.

I suddenly can't adjust my screen brightness and there are a lot of messages in
dmesg.
[20135.512530] ACPI: EC: input buffer is not empty, aborting transaction
[20135.512539] ACPI Exception: AE_TIME, Returned by Handler for
[EmbeddedControl] (20100428/evregion-474)
[20135.512555] ACPI Error (psparse-0537): Method parse/execution failed
[\_SB_.AMW0.WMCA] (Node 8800b7a34500), AE_TIME

After I poweroff (when adjusting brightness doesn't work) my laptop won't boot.
Lights goes up for a few seconds and off (and it loops), I can't get into BIOS.
I have to take out battery and remove power for a few seconds, then I can boot
my laptop.

That is all I know about it. Hope it will help.

Best regards.
