[Bug 1968305] Re: sshd_config.d overrides not working
I've since tested by placing the Include option at the top of the config, and it works. I had assumed positioning was irrelevant, or that it should check /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d by default as described in the man pages: ``` Note that the Debian openssh-server package sets several options as standard in /etc/ssh/sshd_config which are not the default in sshd(8): • Include /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/*.conf • ChallengeResponseAuthentication no • X11Forwarding yes • PrintMotd no • AcceptEnv LANG LC_* • Subsystem sftp /usr/lib/openssh/sftp-server • UsePAM yes /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/*.conf files are included at the start of the configuration file, so options set there will override those in /etc/ssh/sshd_config. ``` Or does this not apply to Ubuntu 20.04? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1968305 Title: sshd_config.d overrides not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/1968305/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1968305] Re: sshd_config.d overrides not working
According to man pages, this is set by default (at least on debian-based systems) so I tried both with and without specifying 'Include /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/*.conf' in the main sshd_config file. But neither seem to work. I've attached the sshd_config file used when testing previously. [Bug 1968305] [NEW] sshd_config.d overrides not working
Public bug reported: Creating an sshd_config override file under /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/ does not override settings from /etc/ssh/sshd_config From debugging sshd, I can see the override file is indeed being read, and the option is supposedly set. But after testing, the options are not taking effect. Specifically, in the main sshd_config, I have disabled PasswordAuthentication In my override file, PasswordAuthentication is enabled Yet, when connecting to the server, it only checks public/private keys. This is for an environment where we have our default sshd_config, and in specific use-cases, we might enable PasswordAuthentication for some servers. [Bug 1794064] Re: Clicking a hyperlink in a PDF fails to open it if the default browser is a snap
> Is there any option to do this via portals - ie can evince use > org.freedesktop.portal.OpenURI to open the URI? Would then this > allow to avoid going via xdg-open? Evince is using g_app_info_launch_default_for_uri(), which can use the portal interface: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evince/-/blob/main/shell/ev- window.c#L6775-6778 However, it only does this as a fallback if no desktop file supports the URI. This is intended to allow a confined app to handle some file types within the sandbox before falling back to portals for everything else. In the case of Evince running on the host system and seeing all the desktop files in /usr/share/applications and other locations, it likely won't ever call the portal API. It'd be possible to code in explicit portal API calls, but it isn't something that Evince packaged as a flatpak or snap would need. So it might end up as a distro patch we'd be on the hook to maintain forever. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1794064 Title: Clicking a hyperlink in a PDF fails to open it if the default browser is a snap To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/1794064/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1960242] Re: [amdgpu] kernel fault on monitor wakeup, only reboot recovers.
I've been encountering this problem with an RX 6600 using linux- image-5.15.0-22-lowlatency and linux-image-5.15.0-23-generic on Jammy. This had not been happening with linux-image-5.13.0-37-lowlatency on Impish. [78421.618570] INFO: task gnome-shell:2364 blocked for more than 241 seconds. ** Description changed: - In a host where ceph-mds is installed, upgrading from - 14.2.11-0ubuntu0.19.10.1~cloud4 to 15.2.8-0ubuntu0.20.04.1~cloud0 fails - with: + [Impact] + Package upgrades will fail due to a move of a file between packages + + [Test Case] + Install ceph-mds 14.2.11-0ubuntu0.19.10.1~cloud4 (from UCA) on bionic + do-release-upgrade to focal + package upgrade will fail. + + [Where problems could occur] + Version declarations might not be correct; upgrade might still break with the same conflict. + + [Original Bug Report] + In a host where ceph-mds is installed, upgrading from 14.2.11-0ubuntu0.19.10.1~cloud4 to 15.2.8-0ubuntu0.20.04.1~cloud0 fails with: dpkg: error processing archive /tmp/apt-dpkg-install-Zen6uw/9-ceph-common_15.2.8-0ubuntu0.20.04.1~cloud0_amd64.deb (--unpack): - trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/cephfs-data-scan', which is also in package ceph-mds 14.2.11-0ubuntu0.19.10.1~cloud4 + trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/cephfs-data-scan', which is also in package ceph-mds 14.2.11-0ubuntu0.19.10.1~cloud4 dpkg-deb: error: paste subprocess was killed by signal (Broken pipe) Errors were encountered while processing: - /tmp/apt-dpkg-install-Zen6uw/9-ceph-common_15.2.8-0ubuntu0.20.04.1~cloud0_amd64.deb + /tmp/apt-dpkg-install-Zen6uw/9-ceph-common_15.2.8-0ubuntu0.20.04.1~cloud0_amd64.deb E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) The problem happens because /usr/bin/cephfs-data-scan is provided by ceph-mds in 14.2.11-0ubuntu0.19.10.1~cloud4: # dpkg -S /usr/bin/cephfs-data-scan ceph-mds: /usr/bin/cephfs-data-scan However in 15.2.8-0ubuntu0.20.04.1~cloud0 it is provided by ceph-common: # dpkg -S /usr/bin/cephfs-data-scan ceph-common: /usr/bin/cephfs-data-scan A quick workaround is to temporarily remove ceph-mds before the upgrade (dpkg -r ceph-mds) and then perform the upgrade process using apt install. It will upgrade all packages and reinstall ceph-mds. ** Also affects: cloud-archive Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: cloud-archive/ussuri Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: cloud-archive Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: cloud-archive/ussuri Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: cloud-archive/ussuri Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1919261 Title: Upgrading Ceph from 14.2.11-0ubuntu0.19.10.1~cloud4 to 15.2.8-0ubuntu0.20.04.1~cloud0 fails when ceph-mds is installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-archive/+bug/1919261/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

There is an error that appears on screen just before the login screen appears which seems to suggest that the touchpad has failed. 13:52:54 kernel: ACPI: battery: [Firmware Bug]: (dis)charge rate invalid. 13:52:54 kernel: thermal thermal_zone7: failed to read out thermal zone (-61) 13:52:54 kernel: Restarting tasks ... done. 13:52:54 kernel: OOM killer enabled. 13:52:54 kernel: mei_hdcp :00:16.0-b638ab7e-94e2-4ea2-a552-d1c54b627f04: bound :00:02.0 (ops i915_hdcp_component_ops [i915]) 13:52:54 kernel: [drm] DisplayID checksum invalid, remainder is 20 13:52:54 kernel: usb 3-8: reset high-speed USB device number 5 using xhci_hcd 13:52:54 kernel: nvme nvme0: 16/0/0 default/read/poll queues 13:52:54 kernel: i2c_hid_acpi i2c-ELAN0406:00: i2c_hid_get_input: incomplete report (14/65280) 13:52:54 kernel: usb usb2: root hub lost power or was reset 13:52:54 kernel: xhci_hcd :00:0d.0: xHC error in resume, USBSTS 0x401, Reinit 13:52:54 kernel: ACPI: EC: event unblocked 13:52:54 kernel: ACPI Error: AE_NOT_EXIST, While executing method \_WAK (20210730/hwesleep-47) 13:52:54 kernel: ACPI Error: AE_NOT_EXIST, While executing method \_WAK (20210730/hwesleep-47) 13:52:54 kernel: ACPI Error: Aborting method \_WAK due to previous error (AE_NOT_EXIST) (20210730/psparse-529) 13:52:54 kernel: ACPI Error: Aborting method \RWAK due to previous error (AE_NOT_EXIST) (20210730/psparse-529) 13:52:54 kernel: ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.PC00.LPCB.EC0.RTEC due to previous error (AE_NOT_EXIST) (20210730/psparse-529) 13:52:54 kernel: 13:52:54 kernel: No Arguments are initialized for method [RTEC] 13:52:54 kernel: 13:52:54 kernel: No Local Variables are initialized for Method [RTEC] 13:52:54 kernel: 13:52:54 kernel: ACPI Error: Region SystemCMOS (ID=5) has no handler (20210730/exfldio-261) 13:52:54 kernel: ACPI: PM: Waking up from system sleep state S3 13:52:54 kernel: CPU15 is up ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1966546 Title: Touchpad becomes unresponsive after resuming from sleep To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1966546/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1965805] Re: Ubiquity failure - Error while installing packages Ubuntu Jammy
I just tried installing a system using the 20220324.3 daily image (which includes the new snapd). The installation completed successfully, and the /usr/bin/snap panic I'd previously observed when run under "sudo chroot /target" was now gone. ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu Jammy) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu Jammy) Milestone: ubuntu-22.04-beta => None -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1965805 Title: Ubiquity failure - Error while installing packages Ubuntu Jammy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/1965805/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1965805] Re: Ubiquity failure - Error while installing packages Ubuntu Jammy
Looking further, it seems this is a problem that has already been fixed in snapd: https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/pull/11275 The change was included in snapd 2.55. The ENOENT check is not present in 2.54.4, as is being used in the installer environment: https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/blob/5d1db242a82a8e3b2460a0877c9890ec99cd9b60/osutil/user.go#L306-L317 I can see that an upload of snapd 2.55.2 was made to jammy 2 days ago, so I suspect that would likely correct the problem when the next image is spun. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1965805 Title: Ubiquity failure - Error while installing packages Ubuntu Jammy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1965805/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1965805] Re: Ubiquity failure - Error while installing packages Ubuntu Jammy
I tried to do a clean install in a VM with the current daily install media and managed to reproduce the problem. The Firefox preinst script was stuck in its loop calling "snap info firefox", so I opened a shell with "sudo chroot /proc/$pid/root" and ran the same command. That led to a panic that I've attached below. The panic occurs when it is trying to get the caller's home directory, picking the sudo user in preference: https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/blob/6541efe9d6daad221447a2220c6de544b1741f46/client/login.go#L97-L100 The called function checks the SUDO_USER environment variable: https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/blob/6541efe9d6daad221447a2220c6de544b1741f46/osutil/user.go#L309-L347 The /proc/$pid/environ file shows that the preinst script is being run with SUDO_USER=ubuntu, which is essentially the same environment I happened to create with "sudo chroot". The user lookup fails because there is no user by that name in the file system being set up for the install. ** Attachment added: "Output of "snap info firefox"" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1965805/+attachment/5572359/+files/snap.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1965805 Title: Ubiquity failure - Error while installing packages Ubuntu Jammy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1965805/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1966085] Re: cloud-init status --wait never returns if datasource not found
** Description changed: Calling "cloud-init status --wait" never returns if ds-identify cannot find a datasource. + In https://github.com/canonical/cloud-init/pull/1162, we modified status + checks to wait until we get an "enabled" or "disabled" file from ds- + identiy. ds-identify never outputs a "disabled" file, so "status --wait" + will wait indefinitely if no datasource is found. + A simple reproduction is to change "ret=1" on this line: https://github.com/canonical/cloud-init/blob/main/tools/ds-identify#L1866 ** Tags added: regression-update -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1966085 Title: cloud-init status --wait never returns if datasource not found To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-init/+bug/1966085/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
