[Bug 548866] Re: forgets middlemouse.contentLoadURL on upgrade or browser restart
Yes, if you read the full text of the changelog, it contains: * Prevent LP: #643899 - Firefox sending header Accept-Language: chrome://global/locale/intl.properties because the intl.accept_languages preference is messed up. Drop a patch which causes the preferences system to save a user preference when changing a preference value to equal the system default value (and revert to the original behaviour where the preference is just discarded). This should hopefully stop Firefox Sync from breaking localized preferences where they haven't been modified by the user, but does regress LP: #548866 which has been parsed as closing #548866. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/548866 Title: forgets middlemouse.contentLoadURL on upgrade or browser restart To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/548866/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

So, for closed source programs which we don't even ship in Ubuntu, such as Quake, we can't fix them, so it will be up to the closed source program vendor to adapt. At least if you ask me. [Bug 17744] Re: libnss-ldap and libpam-ldap should use the same configuration file
Additionally, the docs haven't been updated or dependencies, so people upgrading from previous versions will end up with a broken configuration. You're still shipping libnss-ldap.conf, referring to libnss-ldap.conf in the README.Debian etc. This comes from a user in #ldap who was trying to work out why their new 7.10 install didn't work, as they'd just grabbed libnss-ldap and we were assuming it still used /etc/libnss-ldap.conf. -- libnss-ldap and libpam-ldap should use the same configuration file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/17744 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 51315] Re: udevd: nss_ldap: failed to bind to LDAP server
libnss-ldap is in Universe, ie it's not part of the official Ubuntu support. slapd on the other hand is, so you can get support for serving LDAP, but not using it. [Bug 83118] Re: Some components are non-free
Robert: There are plenty of other trademark policies for GPL software out there http://lwn.net/Articles/216049/ however most of the trademarks are not aggressively enforced. A notable exception is Red Hat - RHEL is GPLed, but Red Hat is a trademark, so people who exercise their GPL rights have to rename the result http://www.redhat.com/f/pdf/corp/RH- 3573_284204_TM_Gd.pdf so we end up with CentOS. A strict reading of many of the other policies would result in mass renaming of many packages, but (IANAL) trademarks are controlled by actual enforcement actions, not policies, so in practice this doesn't happen. So there's lots of trademark policies out there, and trademark law is not incompatible with Free Software, but the actual enforcement varies a lot and there's not currently a standard trademark policy that allows use by the free software community but retains the right to smack down bad people (eg distributors of firefox with viruses). http://tieguy.org/blog/2005/09/16/fri-16-sep-2005/ http://tieguy.org/blog/index.php?s=trademarkpaged=2 and we can but hope Luis will write the one true GPTML once he finishes his degree. Back to the point, the difference between mysql-query-browser and firefox is that MySQL AB doesn't aggressively enforce its trademarks against distributions who ship versions of MySQL software. IANAL, but the lack of enforcement gives tacit approval of this use of the MySQL trademark by distributions, despite it not being permitted by the MySQL trademark policy. -- Some components are non-free https://launchpad.net/bugs/83118 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 51315] Re: udevd: nss_ldap: failed to bind to LDAP server
A better bug report is http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=375215 which gives the following solution (which wfm): I guess I could have been clearer on these, in your libnss-ldap.conf: nss_reconnect_tries 1 nss_reconnect_sleeptime 1 nss_reconnect_maxsleeptime 8 nss_reconnect_maxconntries 2 which makes nss-ldap fail a lot faster.
