I will confirm this bug. In my case, living in the United States, the
duplicated day is the first Sunday in November.

I'm experiencing this bug too. My phone is a BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu
Edition. My phone service is Consumer Cellular, which I think uses the
AT&T network. I'd gladly post any log files if I knew how to access
them.

[Bug 569647] [NEW] unison can't handle international characters in folder names

2010-04-24 Thread James Dearing
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unison

I use Unison to synchronize my music collection between computers.
Recently I've added a new CD, ripped via Rhythmbox into the flac format,
by the artist Bjørn Lynne. I previously had some of his music under the
name "Bjorn Lynne" (my music is organized by artist) but decided to move
it all to the new folder, "Bjørn Lynne". Unison is unable to synchronize
his folder apparently because of the unusual character in his name. The
relevant portion of Unison's log file is quoted below.

[Bug 555885] Re: rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in malloc()

2010-04-07 Thread James Dearing
My Synaptic doesn't list -dbg versions of libusb (I have both
libusb-0.1-4 and libusb-1.0-0 installed, no -dbg packages for either),
so I installed libusb-dev and libusb-1.0-0-dev with the hope that the
development packages will have the necessary debug symbols. Synaptic
also doesn't list a libmtp-dbg, so again I installed libmtp-dev. It does
show a libglib2.0-0-dbg, which I did install.

[Bug 551177] Re: CodeBlocks freezes when changing autosave settings

2010-03-31 Thread James Dearing
I think I just found the problem: The time interval between autosaves
defaults to zero. I misread it when I thought it said 10 minutes.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: codeblocks

I've had CodeBlocks installed for a while, but haven't really used it
until now. I just opened CodeBlocks, created a new project, and went to
change CodeBlocks' environment settings. Specifically, the settings that
appear to cause this crash are those related to autosave - I set it to
- autosave source files and projects every 10 minutes, and I set the
- method to "Create backup and save to original file". As soon as I click
- OK, CodeBlocks freezes and System Monitor shows it taking up almost 100%
- of available CPU power. Other environment settings, as far as I have
- tested, do not appear to cause this problem, but I haven't tested many
- of them.
+ autosave source files and projects every 0 minutes (edit: zero, not
+ ten), and I set the method to "Create backup and save to original file".

[Bug 551177] [NEW] CodeBlocks freezes when changing autosave settings

2010-03-29 Thread James Dearing
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: codeblocks

I've had CodeBlocks installed for a while, but haven't really used it
until now. I just opened CodeBlocks, created a new project, and went to
change CodeBlocks' environment settings. Specifically, the settings that
appear to cause this crash are those related to autosave - I set it to
autosave source files and projects every 10 minutes, and I set the
method to "Create backup and save to original file". As soon as I click
OK, CodeBlocks freezes and System Monitor shows it taking up almost 100%
of available CPU power. Other environment settings, as far as I have
tested, do not appear to cause this problem, but I haven't tested many
of them.

I am running Ubuntu Lucid and CodeBlocks version 8.02-0ubuntu4

[Bug 532903] [NEW] unable to upgrade kernel due to recommending grub-pc and not grub-efi

2010-03-05 Thread James Dearing
Public bug reported:

I'm running Ubuntu Karmic 64-bit on a MacBook Pro laptop. I currently
have grub-efi-amd64 installed, and I have Synaptic set to "consider
recommended packages as dependencies". The problem I'm encountering is
that every time a kernel upgrade is released, I am forced to either
uncheck that option in Synaptic, or allow apt to remove grub-efi-amd64.
I can safely reinstall grub-efi-amd64 after the kernel upgrade is
complete but before the computer is rebooted; that works without any
problems.

I've created a playlist of mp3 files in VLC, and now I wish to save the

name and click 'Save', the dialog closes without reporting any errors,
but the playlist does not get saved.

[Bug 478285] Re: ubuntuone client reported fatal error

2009-11-09 Thread James Dearing
I think I just experienced the same error. My wifi connection died just
before Ubuntu One reported a fatal error. I tried to start Ubuntu One
again after re-establishing wifi connectivity, only to have it report
the same error (but not kill wifi again).

My wifi connection has been very unstable for the last couple of days; I
think somebody else may be using the same frequency as me, and this
interference is probably what affected U1. For that reason, I am not yet
going to mark this bug as confirmed.
