[Bug 532903] [NEW] unable to upgrade kernel due to recommending grub-pc and not grub-efi
Public bug reported: I'm running Ubuntu Karmic 64-bit on a MacBook Pro laptop. I currently have grub-efi-amd64 installed, and I have Synaptic set to "consider recommended packages as dependencies". The problem I'm encountering is that every time a kernel upgrade is released, I am forced to either uncheck that option in Synaptic, or allow apt to remove grub-efi-amd64. I can safely reinstall grub-efi-amd64 after the kernel upgrade is complete but before the computer is rebooted; that works without any problems. [Bug 478285] Re: ubuntuone client reported fatal error
I think I just experienced the same error. My wifi connection died just before Ubuntu One reported a fatal error. I tried to start Ubuntu One again after re-establishing wifi connectivity, only to have it report the same error (but not kill wifi again).
