[Bug 1124390] Re: bcmwl driver causing 3.8 kernel panic with BCM4331
I've found that the wifi connection can be kept alive by keeping a ping session running in a terminal window. So maybe the connection dropping is related to power management. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1124390 Title: bcmwl driver causing 3.8 kernel panic with BCM4331 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1124390/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1124390] Re: bcmwl driver causing 3.8 kernel panic with BCM4331
I have a clean install of the 13.04 daily build and wifi was working great until I ran the updates on 2013-03-22. Since then wifi has been very flaky with the connection dropping after working for a while. Running iwconfig generates a kernel panic.

[Bug 878834] [NEW] Ubuntu 11.10 installer uses incorrect partition in grub.conf
Public bug reported: I have a MacPro with two hard disks: the first disk with OS X and the second with Ubuntu. I upgraded the Ubuntu installation from version 11.04 to 11.10 and the upgrade was successful, but when rebooting it put the computer into Grub Rescue. When I installed Grub, I installed it to the Ubuntu hard disk (/dev/sdb) and the installer created grub.conf to boot from (hd1,gpt2). Whilst this seems correct, Grub sees things differently. Grub seems to need the config file setting to say (hd0,gpt2) to work correctly. Changing the grub.conf file fixed the issue and allowed the system to boot correctly. I'm not sure whether this is a bug in Grub or the Ubuntu Installer. I can provide additional logs, if you let me know which ones you need. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/878834 Title: Ubuntu 11.10 installer uses incorrect partition in grub.conf To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/878834/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
