I think what is really needed is to have the logfile added to the logrotate list, so it is kept under control. Public bug reported: I noticed that Unity was not giving me file suggestions. After checking I saw that zeitgeist-datahub was running, but not zeitgeist-daemon. I also did a manual workround using dpkg to remove vlc, then reinstall.
