[Bug 1689825] Re: gnome-keyring not unlocked on xenial when dbus-user-session is installed
As with comment #107, `sudo apt-get install --reinstall ca-certificates` was the only fix for me. Removing/re-installing/re-configuring dbus- user-session didn't help. This points to there being two issues. Neither issue is related to chrome. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1689825 Title: gnome-keyring not unlocked on xenial when dbus-user-session is installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1689825/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1602192] Re: when starting many LXD containers, they start failing to boot with "Too many open files"
Would it be reasonable to apply the settings that https://github.com/lxc/lxd/blob/master/doc/production-setup.md suggests when we add the first LXD to a machine? What about interrogating the kernel about available resources and refusing to add a container when it won't work? I can try adding 20 containers to a MAAS node at the moment and get no useful message and they do start to fail. Since Juju is running as root we could just do a sysctl key=value to set those live and apparently changes to /etc/security/limits.conf apply to new processes without a reboot. Preserving the sysctl over reboots isn't difficult either. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1602192 Title: when starting many LXD containers, they start failing to boot with "Too many open files" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju/+bug/1602192/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1477188] Re: Windows vanish after suspend/resume
To anyone who knows, can I interrogate X / Unity / Compiz to ask where it thinks a window is? Every time Software Updater auto-runs it has no visible window and I can't meta-W or alt-tab to it. [Bug 1477188] Re: Windows vanish after suspend/resume
I have added a couple of comments on bug #919437 since it seems related. Digging it seems like the Compiz session management plugin may be to blame for windows that don't appear on first launch. My comment about this on bug #919437 If you install CompizConfig Settings Manager and disable the Session Management plugin (under Utility) then your windows will return after you log out and back in. It seems that the session management plugin can return invalid data and Unity expects it to do the right thing. My guess is that http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~compiz- team/compiz/0.9.12/view/head:/plugins/session/src/session.cpp SessionScreen::readWindow needs some sanity checking as do the state load and save functions. I have still had windows vanish, normally Software Updaters automatic run, but restarting the application now always fixes it with the Compiz session manager disabled. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1477188 Title: Windows vanish after suspend/resume To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1477188/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 919437] Re: Lost window, cannot get it back.
Just ran into this after a reboot that hung so I reset my machine. Started Sublime Text 3 in Unity, no window. Can alt-tab to an icon, but nothing is there. Super+w shows nothing. Log out and back in, same problem. In Cinnamon I started Sublime and it appeared in the top left of my left hand monitor. Dragging the window was buggy the first time, but on the second attempt it moved to the middle monitor fine. Logged out and back into Unity and Sublimed loaded fine with a visible window. This seems like a window manager not detecting corrupt placement cache problem, not a compiz issue, since both desktops render using Compiz, right? Perhaps Unity needs some sanity checking for if a window is supposed to be visible on one of its desktops, make sure that it is. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/919437 Title: Lost window, cannot get it back. [Bug 1477188] [NEW] Windows vanish after suspend/resume
Public bug reported: Similar to comment #4 on bug #1126221 I find windows go missing after a suspend/resume. This tends to be one of several Chrome windows that are still visible if I alt-tab and hit down with Chrome highlighted, but aren't visible if I use super-w. This isn't bug #1126221 since I am not adding/removing displays, unless there is something happening over the suspend/resume cycle that is triggering the same code path. [Bug 1222718] Re: Using fglrx, chromium tabs not displaying titles
Note the Chromium bug (https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=123104) has comments from non-ATI users as well - comments #18 and #50 both are for Intel graphics and comment #56 is for VIA Chrome9. Comment #12 here is from an nVidia user. This is not isolated to fglrx. Given the comments about different driver versions (normally closed vs open) it seems possible that Chrome's 3D acceleration whitelist is worth investigating. For people *not* suffering, chrome://flags/#ignore-gpu- blacklist may be worth playing with to see if they can recreate the issue with open drivers. [Bug 954336] Re: Font rendering incorrect in XFCE
It looks like Thunderbird (at least under XFCE) is following the rules in /etc/fonts/conf.d. I can get the font rendering that I would like by linking the correct configuration there, but when that directory is updated globally by a software update, I need to re-link the correct configurations. [Bug 973270] Re: Printer does not provide REQUIRED job history.
Looking at the CUPS source this is an IPP error. I tried a different connection (dnssd://Samsung%20ML-371x%20Series%20(SEC001599916934)._pdl- datastream._tcp.local/) and it worked perfectly. [Bug 954336] [NEW] Font rendering incorrect in XFCE
Public bug reported: Using Precise. I performed a clean install of Precise (Ubuntu, not XUbuntu) then installed xfce4. The font rendering of Thunderbird is incorrect in XFCE, but fine in Unity. [Bug 803943] Re: compiz consuming a lot of cpu
My discovery of the day: PyCharm (java) being open and not minimized triggers compiz to use 15 - 25% of a CPU on my system. Without it I idle at 1 - 2% use by compiz. I am using the nvidia binary drivers and have disabled refresh rate detection (detects 50Hz, which is wrong, even with DynamicTwinView disabled) and manually set the refresh rate to 60Hz. This helped things run more smoothly. I also have turned on KDE compatibility. I have the Java Window Fix and Java Taskbar Fix ticked (default). Disabling these fixes doesn't help. [Bug 803943] Re: compiz consuming a lot of cpu
Re: Comment 37. I have installed your PPA. Last night things seemed to be going fine, but this morning (post another reboot) I have compiz taking up 20 - 30% of a CPU when I am not interacting with any running programs. Disabling the Unity plugin reduces its usage to 2 - 3%. [Bug 769232] Re: Codelite IDE (based on wxWidgets and Scintilla) has grey stripes
I see this problem in three wxPython applications: WinPDB, SPE and Editra, so it is beginning to sound like this impacts all wxWidgets applications that are using the same editor widgets as those programs.
